june intro log overflow

Cyclonus doesn't have much energy to spare for recreational activities, even if he wanted to have fun. Which he doesn't. Well maybe just a little fun. With friends.
So he's been spending most of his time off the ship lounging on the beach, soaking up the sun. When he's out long enough, you could undoubtedly cook an egg on him. Not that you should try.
It's a good thing the string bikini he's wearing is not only impressively robot-sized but also heat resistant apparently. Three guesses who convinced him to wear that (the first two don't count).
So come bother the great purple grump on the beach! He's reclining against a rock and alternating between watching the view and slipping into a low energy state. If you catch him napping deep enough you might even catch him by surprise!

Since the incident at the Ingress happened, Miller's been wanting to check up on Cyclonus. So when he saw the familiar shape stretched out like a reclining building on the sand, he made the trek over there. Still he wasn't completely comfortable with his own swimwear. But when he drew closer, saw the dark shape outlining the giant body (and the waves of heat distorting the air as his form baked under the sun), he ended up slowing down.
And staring.
Because that sure as hell was a mech in a bikini.
With a new sort of confidence that came with a man that realized, in that instance, no person in the world would just him if they were willing to judge a samurai robot in a bikini, he cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted to get his attention. "Cyclonus!"

i. beach
ii. shopping
( ivan deserves this.
he spends most of his time beach bound. unlike some of the other vor on board, ivan is shirtless and tanning nicely, dressed in swim trunks in deep blue and gold. you can take the vorpatril out of vorbarr sultana, but you can't take the vorpatril out of ivan, for the lack of obvious family pride. occasionally he'll walk the beach, toeing through the seashells with a drink in hand. it reminds him of some of the resort towns on the edge of vorpatril district, only far more tropical. thank god.
when night falls he’s experiencing the nightlife — he’ll join the midnight boat tour once just to see — but mostly his attention is snagged by the bombfire dance parties. he's easy to find there, eagerly learning the dances from attractive (probably female) tourists who’re willing to teach him something other than the formal dances. he's easy to get a dance out of, or easy to find sampling the alcohol available. )
ii. shopping
( shopping with money is another thing that ivan vorpatril feels like he’s earned. for himself, of course — he’s used to having a certain amount of money at his fingertips, and life with a meager, mandated budget is only stifling when he can't buy something. but now? oh now this is more like it.
and he does it alone, mostly — shopping had always been a minefield when he'd gone with girlfriends past. carefully making sure you figured out which one they wanted you to approve of and which they wanted you do disapprove of had been dangerous. now, though, he can add a variety to his casual clothing wardrobe other than the uniforms that kept showing up. knit shirts, tailored trousers — everything made to make him look good.
he can be found around, perhaps looking at something that isn't a black jumpsuit — a deep blue shirt, or maybe a god-awful hawaiian shirt. )
I wonder if I can take this back for Uncle Aral.

ASH3 - various
[ There's so much going on throughout the day. It's a gorgeous one out, bright and sunny. The sun warms her skin and the sand is hot underneath her feet. This beach beats any she's ever been to, including all the sand Yemen had to offer. Ugh, Yemen.
Elena's first stop with the card of unlimited credits is to grab herself a camera, nothing too expensive but a good one that hangs at her neck on a strap. She's been going around snapping pictures of all kinds of foliage, scenery, including the people standing in front of them for a backdrop. She'd unknowingly snapped a picture of Nate while he stood in the distance with his head bowed down over his notebook while furiously sketching. A sight she never thought she'd get to see again after losing him at Yemen, and the spotting had felt more of a delusion than anything when she couldn't find him in the directory earlier at the medbay.
Yeah, seeing things was probably a thing. Maybe it was like a space sickness. Or rather— homesick.
But enough of that Fool of a Took! Is there anyone who doesn't appreciate having their picture taken by a stranger? Elena's got experience in building photography portfolios, though it isn't like she'll be able to put it to use in the ship for anything. Hopefully she isn't offending anyone when she points her viewfinder in the direction of whoever is closest. Be it Transformer or alien or anyone, they don't need to be specific. ]

[ Collecting seashells is an activity to kill time with, crouching about in ankle deep water that's as clear as ever. She's fishing under the surface, fingers digging far into the sand for whatever she'd spotted that was sticking out. It takes some effort to tug the damn thing free, and when she does, Elena loses her footing and drops into the water on her ass.
Good thing she's got a bikini on under the jean short shorts. Another good thing is that the water isn't that high to get her camera damaged. Phew!
But looking over to her fellow seashell digger, she's holding the watery and sandy shell up that's bigger than her hand and jagged toward the tip, a grin on her face.
She feels like Dr. Ellie Sattler from Jurassic Park who's just made the most fascinating discovery with a fossil. Who cares if it's just a stupid seashell. Humor her. ]

Especially when she tells the shirtless built man who's manning the giant, sloping wall towering so high up that she's got this and doesn't need the rope or support equipment. He almost doesn't believe that this tiny woman did this for a living for a while in her younger years. What better way to overcome stress than to get the rush of adrenaline going? He doesn't argue it and stands back to watch, curious.
Wearing proper, sturdy shoes, a sports bra and shorts, her hair loosely tied up, Elena's looking for the right foothold and edge for her fingers to grasp, beginning her climb. Every wall she's ever climbed with Nate, it was craggy, it was dangerous. They never knew which chunk would break away under their weight and send them plummeting to their deaths into a rocky sea or jungle where no one would find their corpses.
Whatever. She's going to be a Climbing Instructor for whoever wants to sign up, it's probably for the best that she get back into the swing of it before her first lesson seeing as it's been some time since her last full adventure with the men. ]
BF3 - buying things/ship things
I almost wish we'd had something as simple as this back home...
[ She must be talking to herself as she's standing in front of the screen and scrolling through the clothing options. They've got some interesting options to choose from, and of course the more basic choices that she's more used to. Three-quarter length sleeve Henleys, khakis, v-necks, button downs, socks and underwear. Comfortable clothing.
Elena won't feel guilty with swiping her card through to pay for everything she's picked out. All she has available to her are the clothes on her back that she'd arrived with. She needs something more for lounging around in when she's in her shared quarters.
Hopefully anyone passing by won't notice the price tag that's come with all of the purchases. That would be a little embarrassing. On top of that, Elena's going to be buying fresh bed sheets and more pillows for her bunk, a few little trinkets to add for decoration that she's hoping the people she shares Nomo #011 with won't mind too much. Some new furniture that come with throw pillows and a blanket for the Nomo Deck that she hopes Thán won't disapprove of as she's tried to match it to his tastes he's shaped Nomo Deck with.
That's just some of the things she buys and gets delivered to the ship. There's much more. Practical living things, things of comfort. ]

[ What girl wouldn't want to treat herself to either the gold mask or the mud bath? And if the rejuvenating mask does as it says it's supposed to? Well. Elena won't pass up the opportunity to look ten years younger. Even if it is temporary and will fade over time. Nothing lasts forever, right?
She's happy to see she's not alone in indulging in either of these things, glancing over as her face is painted in shimmering gold, up to her chin in mud. Mud that makes it difficult for her to move. ]
Makes me wonder if we'll even recognize ourselves when we get cleaned up. If it works as they say it does.

[ Tex has been carefully outfitting herself with the funds provided with a motorcycle and everything she could potentially need to go with it, including this world's version of a leather motorcycle outfit. She is just taking off her helmet after bringing her ride to a halt here near the beach, considering whether to go into one of the nearby shops and get something appropriate to swim in. When she realizes her picture is being taken she lowers the helmet and rearranges her hair at the front with a swipe of her hand. She lays her hand on the handlebars and leans in just a bit. ]

Beach
Saying that this has all been a lot to process may actually be a bit of an understatement. One minute Nick is in Zootopia, enjoying a day off, and the next he’s… in space apparently. With a bunch of strange nearly-hairless mammals and also robots and who knows what else, and evidently nobody can guarantee when he’s going home.
So. That’s… not great.
In a way, the subsequent announcement that they’re going to be stopping by some kind of outer space resort and everyone is REQUIRED to go enjoy themselves almost seems to add insult to injury - but really, what’s he going to do, not go hang out on a beach? There are, after all, worse things to do while fending off an impending existential crisis over the whole multiverse situation.
Nick spends most of his time on the beach hanging around on a beach chair, sipping a drink from one of the restaurants. How he manages to sip with a muzzle is anyone’s guess. Actually, he seems pretty much disinterested from doing anything involving actual activity, so feel free to try to get him more active or just harass him where he is.

"Ah, excuse me, would it be alright if I settle here?" Nick's idle relaxation is quickly thwarted by Toriel's approach. She had a spot by the sea earlier, but given the rising tides and her children going off on their own she thought it best to move.
She motions at a spot nearby, not too close but the goat looking boss monster still has to ask. She smiles from under her large sunhat back at the fox. "If not, I understand." She adds, not wanting to pressure the young man. Everyone deserves some time to relax.

On the Beach
The idea of beaches being somewhere that’s supposed to specifically be fun strikes Ginko as a little strange. In his experience, it’s just kind of… a place. That exists. Granted, he’s not exceptionally familiar with beaches, so maybe it’s just a lack of experience.
Of course, he will admit, the relatively low-pressure situation here does make something of a difference. With nobody trying to tell him what items to fetch, or where to go, or not to wander off where he can’t be watched, he finds himself with a lot more options.
In the end, he mostly ends up just hanging around in the surf, watching fish or hunting down tidepools, picking up and examining the occasional crab or starfish before setting them back down.
As careful as he seems to be about people and the strange creatures from his world, he seems relatively unconcerned with handling, say, an angry crab that’s doing its best to pinch his hands.

She's certain she's fine when they finally fall asleep, but she's also certain this is more than she's ever drunk at once.
At Imperial functions, she was always careful with the wine, knowing that her ability to keep up with much bulkier politicians was minimal, and the stakes were high. At Alderaanian functions, she'd had to be even more circumspect, if only because Aunt Rouge would certainly be watching. And only an idiot would be free and easy with the X-Wing pilots' jet juice; that stuff was better suited for scouring machinery than drinking. But with Han, there's nothing to worry about and nothing to get up for in the morning--and his smile only stretches more lopsidedly with every glass they have. Who could possibly resist that?

[Jacky's not a new arrival; when she wakes up disoriented in the surgeon's she has a very disquieting moment of deja vu before the gate sickness takes over.
After a few hours--after checking herself out ADA and after getting into a scuffle at the bar--Jacky can be found wandering the ship, looking two steps from pitching over. Looks like she might need a hand. Or someone to break her inevitable fall.]

He doesn't fall into the fallacy that he needs to take things at any slow pace just because she looks, acts or sounds human, as realistic as her projection might be. [When Med’an stumbles, shivering, out of the cryochamber on the first of the month, he can’t remember how he got there. Did he get hurt? Had something happened? He’s not even sure how long he’s been in there. It’s a frightening thought, and he remains disoriented and concerned while the other medbay personnel help him get warmed up and to a sickbed.
He’s looking around slowly, having trouble concentrating on his surroundings. Everything seems busier than normal, but not unfamiliarly busy - it takes several minutes for him to realize that the faces he’s seeing are new arrivals. Once his frazzled brain processes this, it feels even more wrong to be sitting there, waiting to be doctored on instead of doing the doctoring.
He shuffles around uncomfortably, still sluggish from spending time in cryo.]

But it's hard to resist the lure of so much snow. A few days out, he gives in, and finds himself cautiously picking his way through crisp white hills. It rarely snows back in Duskwood, and he hasn't been in the Exodar long enough to see winter, so the abundant snowy wonderland within AS3H is a marvel to him.
He finds a spot somewhat close to the lodge and slowly starts building things with the snow. There's a tiny snowman, a small tower of balls, and now he's working on a little fort. He's heard that this is doable, but he's never been able to try before.]

milly's a california girl, and she is all about this beach. dressed in her cutest beach gear, she can be found lounging in the sun or just walking the shoreline. half of her skin is synthetic to cover up the cybernetics where her own skin no longer grows, but it's convincing enough that you can hardly tell the difference or see the seams unless you're looking for them, although her synthetic skin doesn't lightly freckle under the sun like the rest of her.
milly's only wading about ankle deep into the waves, mostly opting to fly over the ocean instead and soak up those cool sea breezes. she can also be found playing beach volleyball with great enthusiasm -- the girl's got a seriously mean spike. maybe you're playing with her, or maybe you're about to be the casualty of a volleyball gone astray. ]
