"Hah..." Alphys grumbles, cringing at the physical contact. It's not that she doesn't want Sans to touch her - she just makes that face without even thinking about it.
"W-Well. I d-do have to wonder how that works," she continues, anxiously changing the subject. "It's got to be incredible technology. I m-mean, hehe, obviously, considering where we're at, but - that part in particular."
"Yeah, or incredible magic. Haven't been able to figure out which side of that venn diagram these guys fall." Science and magic were intrinsically linked in their world, of course, but there were certain things that science couldn't abide by. Nonetheless...
"To tell you the truth, there's a lot about how this place works I don't get." He winks. "Maybe you can help a guy out in that department."
