Ocelot | MGSV | OTA!
[Everyone enjoys a little sun now and again, even Ocelot. He's not alone, either. DD, an eager looking grey wolf-like dog with an eye-patch, is running up and down the beach after a frisbee. When Ocelot throws it, the dog goes full speed after it, kicking up some sand as he runs. He leaps into the air and catches the disc with his teeth, then lands on his feet and comes running back. The dog looks like he could play the game all day. Ocelot doesn't mind it, either. It's a relaxing way to spend the day.]
Good boy, DD.
[He takes the frisbee and readies it for the next throw. When he tosses it though, he sees as someone walks in the path of the flying projectile.]
Hey, heads up!
[You can duck, right?]
Treat Yo Self
[Ocelot isn't the type to indulge in finery, but he was curious about all the advertised spa treatments. So yes, he decided to try it out and see this "magical" rejuvinating result.
He can be seen walking out of the spa and pauses in front of a wall mirror where he looks at himself.]
I'll be damned.
[He turns his face left and right, and sure enough, just as advertised, he looks ten years younger. A man 30 yrs instead of 40. He could almost swear he sees a bit of blonde creeping back into his silver hair, but maybe that's just the light.]
Take their advertising seriously. [He calls over his shoulder when he hears someone walking by.] They really will turn back the clock for you.

[Luckily for Miller, he does duck at the warning (still wearing his shameful attire but with his actual clothes bunched under his arm). Mama, though, Mama goes for it. With her puppies following like little ducklings. And like a true, obnoxious mother she gets in DDs way, standing with her chest out and ears up and tail high, right in his path, while one of her brood can grab the frisbee and generally fail to run with it because it's almost as big as it is.]
[Miller turns to go get the disk.] Mama, no. That's not yours. [He's scolding, but she has no intention to get out of the way and he has to go retrieve the toy from a little mouth who seems more interested in a tug fight than a game of fetch.]
[At least for the moment, Kaz seems to be feeling better. Certainly less spastic than he was when last seen.]
no subject
Miller. You're looking better.
[Ocelot approaches and stands next to DD, patting the dog on the head.]
no subject
[He's torn. He might have ended up safe that time. He's angry he wasn't believed. But a lot of people didn't believe him; he's been so sure, too. Why the growling? Why being thrown?]
[He is giving some credence to Liquid's theory; a haunting. Not the idea of a rational man, but considering he made sure that Skull Face died suffering and after having seen what he's seen here; there is potential to the idea.]
[Nothing he thinks he can discuss with Ocelot.]
Why did you call me Kaz? [A blunt question, only marginally related to the topic. He noticed. What changed enough that Ocelot referred to him as the name that identifies him as a human being and not just Snake's second.]
[He's ignoring Mama, who is inching her way forward toward's DD. Puts her face up next to his, in a standard sort of play posture. The puppies are old enough now she's not so worried about them, and the one that has the frisbee isn't being interfered with. Miller keeps an eye on her, anyway.]
no subject
At ease, DD.
[The command gives the dog permission to move, jumping back in a playful way and then going for the toy to run down the beach with it in a game of catch with Mama if she's willing.]
It's not the first time I've called you Kaz.
[But it's not common.]
I was trying to reassure you. Did you like that I called you Kaz?
[That last question was a little teasing.]
no subject
[Kaz is pretty sure she won't go far away. For a free-willed dog, she's still pretty attached to his side. So he turns back to Ocelot once they don't seem to be fighting.]
Doesn't matter much I guess.
Just was curious, is all. You really didn't see it, even after I was out? ...Not turned up since, anyway. Guess I should ask Rinzler.
[Kaz has started socializing but his socializing apparently leans towards people that hang out in vents and sulk.]

[He did search but couldn't find anything. Perhaps there was something there. Ocelot doesn't know, but he doesn't want to doubt Miller. This place does have the ability to have strange things around; it also has the ability to mess with their heads better than even Ocelot can.]
Can you tell me about it?
no subject
There's security footage, I think? Might be in there somewhere.

the beach!
You should be more careful, you know! You could hurt somebody.
[There's no malice apparent behind the words (but oh how she wishes there was), and she giggles as she stoops to pick up the frisbee.]
no subject
Ocelot didn't know her before, though he'd read the reports. He was impressed by how she'd managed to so innocently infiltrate MSF. A pretty face can go a long way.]
Sorry about that. Been awhile since I tossed one of those around.
no subject
Well, no harm done. I forgive you.
[She looks past Ocelot at DD, studying him briefly. What a mutt! Was that thing even a dog? It looked huge. And was that an eyepatch? Men could be unbelievable.]
Oh, is this your dog? He's so cute! C'mere boy, come on!
[She's still going to clap and make a fuss, though. After all, little girls are supposed to love all dogs big and small, aren't they?]
lol her [prose] is so funny combined with her dialogue i love it
He's sort of mine. I'm watching him for the time being. I trained him as a companion for someone.
[She can start digging for details if she feels she needs to. In a sense, he was playing around with her a bit. He knew what she'd want to know; what she would react to. Specifically a name.]
You must be new on the Moira. Settling in alright?
DD vs Fury
Fury, excited to see another friend, starts pulling on his harness and barking. ]
Alright, alright, hang on, pal!
[ He unhooks the leash from the harness and Fury takes off toward DD. ]
Re: DD vs Fury
Hey. [Ocelot calls as he jogs over.] Good catch.
no subject
[ He's also really good at spinning tales, so there's that too. Now that he set the record for, definitely.
Thankfully, Fury hops back when the frisbee lands on the damp sand. It would be a sad day if he met his end at the hands of a rogue piece of plastic. He sniffs at it earnestly what with all the smells of DD stuck to it now. Really, the thing's almost as big as him so it's no surprise when all Fury can do is drag it a little between his puppy teeth, growling like a hunter that he so isn't. ]
no subject
[He's joking, of course. A bit.
DD is gentle enough. He knows just how and when to use his strength. He's a good dog for many reasons.]
You spoken to Miller since that outburst?
no subject
[ When tugging seems to get Fury nowhere, he drops the frisbee with a warbling bark and rushes at it. He jumps and positions himself for an attack that never comes. Then out of nowhere he leaps up and runs around the frisbee and under DD. ]
Heard about a spa down here, though! I'm gonna drag him down to it for a day.
no subject
[Anything to take his mind off of whatever happened to him. DD is happy to play with the other dog, surprised by the quick maneuver and turning around to chase after the pup.]
Staying in his room... that's just not like him.
[Ocelot sounds a bit concerned.]
beach
Normally Dorian has eyes on the back of his head, but perhaps he's feeling a little less cautious than normal now that he's not being run down by demons or Venatori. So no, there isn't enough time for the mage to dodge, but there is enough time to throw up a barrier...though perhaps it isn't in the best interest of the frisbee. It makes a cracking noise as it hits the barrier and folds right in half.
Whoops...it was either the toy or his face, Dorian chose his face, naturally. And now he has to look into those big, sympathetic dog eyes and explain that the frisbee will fly no more. Crouching down he scoops it up, making a face at the drool and sand, he remains crouched. If he's going to make his plea he might as well be level with the dog.]
It's better to focus on the positive than the negative. It was fun while it lasted, yes?
Re: beach
Ocelot approaches seconds later.]
Sorry about that throw. You alright?
[Though he did see the magic and how it effectively ended the frisbee. It wasn't as though the disc hit a wall. It wouldn't have broken if it had hit a normal surface. It's almost as though the wall hit back. Very interesting.]
Re: beach
[ There was something about the sad dog look that had a tendency to inspire guilt even in the hardest of hearts.
And Dorian had to turn his face away discreetly just to keep a neutral facade.]
Oh no, I'm immune to your so called charms. [Addressing the dog] I've seen enough mabari war hounds to know better.
[Dogs, however, were more persistent than most creatures and even the infallible mage couldn't ignore it for long. It wasn't the most impressive use of his skills, but he could repair things and with more of that unusual light, the bent Frisbee was straightened out.]
There, your flying discus is as good as new.
Re: beach
I appreciate that. Won't need to find another one at the market.
[They're not terribly hard to find, but he's at least spared the walk. DD appreciates it, too. He wags his tail excitedly and bounces from side to side, waiting for Dorian to throw the frisbee.]
Re: beach
It's the least I can do, besides, I don't want him remembering me as the evil mage who ruined his day. Dogs have that kind of memory- probably why they are worshipped in some places...at least where I come from.
[They seemed so intelligent at times...and then there were moments like this where the simplest things pleased them and Dorian had to reconsider.]
If you insist [because if he wagged his tail any more than that he might just burst into flight, so with a flick of the wrist Dorian threw the frisbee] just don't get the wrong idea about me.
Re: beach
Worried people will think you're a nice guy?
Re: beach
I don't trust camaraderie, people smiling at you, buying you drinks, it's unnatural. Not that I hate the notion of being the "good Tevinter."
