"I could amend my displeasure if any of the human characters were enjoyable to read about but- they all seemed very flat." "I suppose it is my age speaking, I... have read many stories where it is simply wish fulfillment and grandiose heros saving the day with one last trick up their sleeves. Those stories stick since they are the ones easiest to retell, to continue, but the complexities fade. With time people forget and repeat the cycle. I suppose it is why I want a book that has more to it. Beyond a story where the humans win and the monsters lose. I've certainly lived that already."
