Excellent.
[ Not even bothering to cover how pleased his staying has made her, her smile only widens happily. Even if it's only a short period of time that they get today, at least it's something. ]
You have no idea how boring it is around here while everyone else is off enjoying themselves. But yes, of course! So much I'd like to know, actually, but starting with the basics seems the best diving in point.
I'd love to hear about what your department has been working on--past, present, even possible ideas for the future.
[ That may be a bit beyond basic, given that she's kind of asking for everything they've done and will do, though she's honestly all right if he simply chooses one time frame to focus on. ]

He makes note of every expression and lilt in her voice, the natural ease of her motions even when she's only a holographic projection. Makes him wonder if she ever thought about having a body built for herself. He'll leave that question for later, though. ]
Wow. You ask for a lot, don't you?
[ But he agrees, and he starts giving her a rundown of all the places they've visited, what the ship has gone through, whatever issues have there been among the crew. He skims on the parts that involve the Hulk, and as he goes on, he shows her files, projects, holographic projections he himself has built during their journey so far. It's a lot, granted, but she has access to the computer and he has no doubt that she has the ability to process all the information very quickly. ]
As of late, I've been focusing on studying the Ingress. It's an incredible but completely foreign piece of technology, though, so it's a slow process. So far I only have some energy and particle readings, which really doesn't tell us a lot. [ He shows her those files too, though he's sure she could've accessed them without him doing that. ] There are spikes when new people arrive, and when objects are pulled in from other worlds too. Otherwise it seems to fluctuate within normal parameters. Well, whatever's considered 'normal' for the Ingress.

[ Gathering information and learning is her thing, and she's far from timid about asking, particularly when outright offered a chance to toss out some questions. Honestly, she's only asked for about a fraction of everything that she really wants to know.
As Bruce speaks, Cortana's listening intently. Part of her is going through the files on the computer as he discusses, and another one of her processes is put to use taking a few of her own notes on the subject. It may be a lot of information, but it's far from the most she's ever taken in. In fact, it takes up very little of her data storage space. ]
Interesting. The part that I find the most puzzling is that it seems perfectly capable of bringing in large numbers of people and objects from their homes, from all of these different universes, but it can't do the opposite. [ Even as he's showing her the files, she's going over them herself in the computer system. Giving the AI equivalent of a sigh, Cortana tilts her head to one side and shakes it. ] Frustrating when people make use of technology they don't fully understand, isn't it? I have a hard time believing that one of the captains or some part of the original crew, assuming there was one, had nothing to do with the Ingress ending up this way.
[ She also has a hard time believing that there's only one place in this entire universe that knows how to fix it when they have proof of other planets having their own Ingress portals. ]
