"Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and offered a contract to sign that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

Having left Amissis-Re behind, tensions among crew members have continued to escalate into ship-wide consequences, and recognizing the need for some separation among those aboard the Moira, the Captains make the unanimous decision to deviate from their present course to a "nearby" planet that is notable for such popular distractions. While it is not a permanent solution, measures are being taken to monitor the crew's morale much more closely. New arrivals will be treated as they always are; yet, now, more than ever, it is important to stress the balance of working together toward their goal of reaching their destination so that everyone will return home.

WELCOME TO COLLECTIVES ASH3 - BF3 - CLF5

The Collective is a paradise resort located far from any other neighboring planets to offer the most leisurely experience possible to its patrons. Artificially created for multiple uses, it is divided into separate locales interconnected with a tubing transport system that is so fast and efficient that it’s like being teleported to the next area. Extensive mapping can be found at various intersecting points to offer some direction, and there are even recognizable adverts from a very familiar stop months before spread out across the Collective. Whether looking to explore or to simply shed the weight of anxiety, there are plenty of opportunities to be found within ASH3, BF3, and CLF5.

All crew members are given a card from the Captains that has an unlimited amount of credits on it. Organized through trade, these allow Moirans access to any of the luxuries that the Collective has to offer aside from the purchase of items considered weapons due to the escalation of recent events. Food, clothes, trinkets, or even a full spa experience—the limits, otherwise, are endless. The Captains emphasize that this is time to relax and take a break from the grind that is living and working on a spaceship as unique as the Moira.

B.E.A.C.H! THE BEST ESCAPE ANYONE CAN HAVE!
For those seeking a fun time, the Collective offers a variety of activities on ASH3. There are multiple beaches to enjoy as well as beachside kiosks offering drinks, beach toys and surf equipment for those a little more sports-minded. The tide washes in beautiful shells to collect, and there are always life-guards on duty to make sure everyone stays safe while enjoying their time on the beach. ASH3 offers a safe and friendly environment with plenty of fun in the sun for everyone. There is also a boardwalk full of restaurants, bars and plenty of games and entertainment for when you want to step off the sand but don’t want to give up being out in the sun.For those who can’t or won’t bear the sun, ASH3 also offers a thriving night life on both beach and boardwalk. There are midnight boat tours to view the bioluminescent schools of fish native to the island and bonfire dance parties that go long into the mornings. On the boardwalk, all shops are open until midnight as well as many clubs and social spots where crew can mingle with other tourists in the area.

So you don’t like the sand. It’s too hot, and it gets everywhere. Then hop onto one of the many transportation systems, slip into some warmer clothes, and take to the slopes. More experienced crew can immediately dive in, but those who need help can take lessons on how to ski or snowboard. There’s hot cocoa, sleds, snowball fights, and the occasional person making a snow angel (or snow person). ASH3 also has areas for rock climbing, sky diving, base jumping, bodyboarding, canoeing, hang gliding, jetskis, mountain biking, hiking, and much more.

WHEN I SHOP, THE WORLD GETS BETTER
Not everyone enjoys shopping, but this Collective entices even the most frugal and reluctant into spending their credits here. In fact, the Captains are encouraging this. They give the explicit “order” to buy whatever you want for yourself and your fellow crew members, but more than that, to consider making purchases to better the ship. Is there any area of the Moira that needs spruced up? Maybe some fresh paint in the mess hall,or new furniture in the decks? Maybe some fancy curtains for all those windows on the observation deck, or a few throw pillows? New pots and pans for the kitchen might be something to add to this list as well as equipment for the rec area, or whatever else you think BF3 will have to help increase comfort aboard the Moira.

To enhance your shopping experience, the technology here allows you to try on clothes without lifting a hand. The food here is an unlimited spread of gourmet dining to comfort food and every dessert you can think of. When you’re finished with your purchases, have all your packages and larger items delivered back to the ship for you.

TREAT YO SELF
The accommodations on the Collective of CLF5 are as unique as they come. Lodging is available for those who want to sleep in an environment that’s underwater or perhaps those who desire something as simple as a soft bed. No matter what kind of room you want to purchase for the night, it’ll be available here, and the only true limit is the imagination. When you aren’t relaxing in a hotel room, you’ll find that there are numerous spas and hair salons that offer varied services. Gold face masks rejuvenate your skin, the Ever Young™ Spa can make you look ten years younger with one treatment, and the mud baths are known across the universes for making you feel youthful and refreshed. If you’re looking for a new hairstyle or to relax, this Collective is the place for you to spend those hard-earned credits.

[ Clara may find herself in a sharper turn, one that requires more skill and more precision to follow at the mention of monsters but outwardly expression reveals nothing. What does she know of monsters and what they need? ]

In that you are mistaken. [ Even if he chooses his mind over physical strength, he only lacks brutality in effort, but not in strategy or cunning execution. Context isn't really needed to follow what she may be hinting at. After all, she said she read about Odin. Loki knows full well there are myths about him, about the times they were worshipped as gods, and the names he earned in their stories.

He doesn't pull away either. Instead once a song with much the same beat starts Clara's subject to the not-so-watered down version of his what he was made to learn in the court. Frighteningly more difficult to follow both in turns, in footwork, and in time. Keep up, space traveller. He isn't going to give her a handicap anymore. ]
Books don't do such concepts justice, Ms. Clara of Blackpool. Anyone can recognize a pattern, [ To which he switches up the steps she's learned to follow. ] or teach it to someone else. [ As he so intentionally fails to do with her. On purpose, of course. ]

You can worry about the tacticians and strategists of the universe but can you tell what they're planning despite the missing pieces? [ He smiles and it's genuine for all intents and purpose. ] I can never quite tell, myself.

[She's a little too taken with attempting to keep her feet from falling out from under her to respond right away, her face focused on his feet and looking narrowly focused on attempting to master the dance. He's fast, but luckily so is she, but the speed isn't serving her as well as she'd like since she seems to have provoked him.

There's the urge to step on his foot just to get him to stop, but she's not about to be shown up by someone who likely wants to see her fail. So she just tries harder, and manages to do a decent job of not tripping and falling despite missteps.
]

You mistake fear for worrying.

[The smile she returns is bright and carefree. She can look at ease trying to master this dance, even if she's struggling. She isn't going to let it show.]

There isn't any point in determining someone's intentions. I don't care for missing pieces. [After all, she's a bit of a mystery herself, and is well aware of the fact the Doctor's trying to solve her.]

All I care for is having control over a situation in the end, depending on what the cost is to obtain it.

[ And oh does he wish to see her fail. To see her resolve break, for her smile to falter, for her to bend when it's too much like a simpleton from the race she hails from. When she doesn't, when Clara insists on working through her missteps just to keep up and keeps her smile he finally finds her intriguing. Loki is far too old to be dazzled by her conversation skills but her ambition he can admire. ]

You'll find worry turns to fear without provocation.

[ Despite that carefree smile.

As far as Loki is concerned, she's out of her depth. What's the matter, Clara? Can't you take the lead again? ]

You should know from the stories you've read of Odin the price is never too high for control--or winning, as it were.

[ Not that he knows whether or not the slaughter of all the Dark Elves, or other races such as the Inhumans, in the name of peace has ever touched Midgardian literature, but he can poke fun all the same. ]

Then it sounds like Odin's a pathetic man, in the end. I never had a favorable impression of him when reading the stories.

[It's almost snapped out, a bit of fire and anger bubbling up to the surface. It almost burns bright in her eyes as he takes the complete upper hand in the dance. It infuriates her, to not have control, to not be able to steal the lead right out from under him. And her fury only drives her to work harder and learn faster.

She's soon able to keep up with him and make it look like it's easy, with a bright smile on her face. Her eyes never lose that fire, even as she makes direct eye contact with him. She's no longer focusing in on their feet and having to keep up. She can do that. She's clearly attempting to get to a point where she can out maneuver him and take the lead. It's almost like flirting, except it's highly competitive on her part.

[ She learned very quickly. Maybe he hoped he wouldn't have to face her gaze after the comment about his father. He doesn't prepare her for the spin he leads her into. No, it's half a punishment if she trips. ]

You may be right but Odin is still my. . .[ He frowns, dismissing the thought. ] He's still the king and I don't appreciate you running your mouth about him.

[ No matter how incredibly angry Loki is with Odin, he desperately wants Odin's approval. Odin may not be his real father, which Loki is still trying to grapple with, but he has mixed feelings on others speaking ill of him. Then again family is never simple for any version of Loki in any universe. ]

[And stumble she does, but she manages to catch her footing so it's only noticeable to him. She knows he's going to take notice of it though, and that frustrates her. Not enough that she loses her cool, but enough that she grips hold of him a little tighter.]

In that case, I apologize. I didn't want to insult you.

[She's not attempting to be cruel or push his buttons as much as figure out what sort of man he is. He's a mystery, one that challenges the hell out of her.]

My mouth has a mind of its own sometimes, you see. I think it wants to go solo.

[Laughing softly at that, she uses what strength she has to try and force his arm into giving her another spin. This time, she'll be ready for it and move through it gracefully.]

[ At least he won't let her fall what with an arm extended toward her waist if anything such thing were to happen. It's equally satisfying all the same.

Is she. . .actually apologizing? It's a strange enough occurrence he almost looks surprised, especially when she offers up an excuse for speaking her mind.

He loosens to let her into another spin. ]

Don't fret. I don't expect you to know what not to say. After all, we've only just met.

[ Most would rather put him down out of habit and maybe that's made him cynical toward most interactions over the very long time he has been alive. ]

Besides that it's somewhat nice to talk to a human who knows next to anything about Asgard and the world's beyond the Nine Realms. [ Speaking of which: ] How did you come across a ship to travel? [ He has been wondering since she mentioned it. As far as he knew Midgard still didn't have the capability for such travel, even in modern times. ]

It stumbled across me, actually.

[It's the truth, when it comes down to it. The Doctor and his TARDIS barged into her life unexpectedly, though she supposes she shouldn't make it sound like she found it on her own or it in any way belongs to her.]

It's a sentient time machine, as weird as it sounds. She has a mind of her own and is impossibly stubborn. She's a bit like me in that regard.

[Which probably sounds even weirder to say, but she doesn't offer it any elaboration as she focuses more on the thrill of dancing. She's finally able to master her steps enough that she gets into it, and finds herself grinning and picking up the pace of their movements a fraction more.]

[personal profile] chaostic 2016-06-05 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Huh so she's a time traveller as well as an adventurer. He wonders how old she much really be if that's the case. ]

I'm not so sure I'd trust a sentient anything to fling me from one point in time to the next.

[ It could turn out dreadful, especially falling right into your own timeline. ]

I assume earth wasn't very fulfilling if you've become attached enough to your ship to know it's temperament.

[ Honestly it's her enthusiasm that had him most at ease. Loki has never enjoyed dancing. It felt mechanical most times he had to suffer the company of others, but this is turning out to be fun. He was just glad this vacation of sorts wasn't ultimately a ruse to keep them all comfortable. ]

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-06 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know if I'd go so far as to say I trust her to do anything. And Earth's nice, but I'm meant for more than just settling for a mundane life on an ordinary planet.

[Her laughter is bright as they dance about, moving and spinning until everything is a blur. Eventually though, the music ends, but Clara doesn't stop dancing until a short while after. She grins up at him, almost a confident smirk because she was able to keep up relatively well, all things considered.]

I was starting to think the same about this planet, but it's turned out to have something interesting on it after all.

[A little flirtation after enjoying a dance never hurt anyone.]

[ Who wants a simple life anyway? Yet another piece of Clara that Loki can appreciate. She may not know it but it's unusually to keep him relaxed around people he's just met.

The song ends and he almost wished it hadn't which is a strange thought in and of itself on his part. He keeps close to her, if only because he means to keep her company for a while longer. ]

Peaceful recreation has it's perks. [ Perks he hasn't fully explored yet. ] Care to find out what else is worth a little curiosity?

[ Congratulations, Clara. Loki invited you to poke around a little more to see what else there is to offer. ]

[Nodding, she reaches up to tuck some hair behind her ear.] Think I would, yeah.

[She moves to link her arm through his, resting her palm on his arm. There's plenty to do around here, and so much of it she hasn't explored yet. She quickly thinks over all that she's heard about from others.]

There's sky diving, if you'd like something thrilling. Or there's casinos somewhere, if that's your sort of thrill.

[There's also bars, but drinking is boring and disgusting and not her idea of a good time.]
