"Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and offered a contract to sign that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

Having left Amissis-Re behind, tensions among crew members have continued to escalate into ship-wide consequences, and recognizing the need for some separation among those aboard the Moira, the Captains make the unanimous decision to deviate from their present course to a "nearby" planet that is notable for such popular distractions. While it is not a permanent solution, measures are being taken to monitor the crew's morale much more closely. New arrivals will be treated as they always are; yet, now, more than ever, it is important to stress the balance of working together toward their goal of reaching their destination so that everyone will return home.

WELCOME TO COLLECTIVES ASH3 - BF3 - CLF5

The Collective is a paradise resort located far from any other neighboring planets to offer the most leisurely experience possible to its patrons. Artificially created for multiple uses, it is divided into separate locales interconnected with a tubing transport system that is so fast and efficient that it’s like being teleported to the next area. Extensive mapping can be found at various intersecting points to offer some direction, and there are even recognizable adverts from a very familiar stop months before spread out across the Collective. Whether looking to explore or to simply shed the weight of anxiety, there are plenty of opportunities to be found within ASH3, BF3, and CLF5.

All crew members are given a card from the Captains that has an unlimited amount of credits on it. Organized through trade, these allow Moirans access to any of the luxuries that the Collective has to offer aside from the purchase of items considered weapons due to the escalation of recent events. Food, clothes, trinkets, or even a full spa experience—the limits, otherwise, are endless. The Captains emphasize that this is time to relax and take a break from the grind that is living and working on a spaceship as unique as the Moira.

☄ B.E.A.C.H! THE BEST ESCAPE ANYONE CAN HAVE!

For those seeking a fun time, the Collective offers a variety of activities on ASH3. There are multiple beaches to enjoy as well as beachside kiosks offering drinks, beach toys and surf equipment for those a little more sports-minded. The tide washes in beautiful shells to collect, and there are always life-guards on duty to make sure everyone stays safe while enjoying their time on the beach. ASH3 offers a safe and friendly environment with plenty of fun in the sun for everyone. There is also a boardwalk full of restaurants, bars and plenty of games and entertainment for when you want to step off the sand but don’t want to give up being out in the sun.For those who can’t or won’t bear the sun, ASH3 also offers a thriving night life on both beach and boardwalk. There are midnight boat tours to view the bioluminescent schools of fish native to the island and bonfire dance parties that go long into the mornings. On the boardwalk, all shops are open until midnight as well as many clubs and social spots where crew can mingle with other tourists in the area.

So you don’t like the sand. It’s too hot, and it gets everywhere. Then hop onto one of the many transportation systems, slip into some warmer clothes, and take to the slopes. More experienced crew can immediately dive in, but those who need help can take lessons on how to ski or snowboard. There’s hot cocoa, sleds, snowball fights, and the occasional person making a snow angel (or snow person). ASH3 also has areas for rock climbing, sky diving, base jumping, bodyboarding, canoeing, hang gliding, jetskis, mountain biking, hiking, and much more.

☄ WHEN I SHOP, THE WORLD GETS BETTER

Not everyone enjoys shopping, but this Collective entices even the most frugal and reluctant into spending their credits here. In fact, the Captains are encouraging this. They give the explicit “order” to buy whatever you want for yourself and your fellow crew members, but more than that, to consider making purchases to better the ship. Is there any area of the Moira that needs spruced up? Maybe some fresh paint in the mess hall,or new furniture in the decks? Maybe some fancy curtains for all those windows on the observation deck, or a few throw pillows? New pots and pans for the kitchen might be something to add to this list as well as equipment for the rec area, or whatever else you think BF3 will have to help increase comfort aboard the Moira.

To enhance your shopping experience, the technology here allows you to try on clothes without lifting a hand. The food here is an unlimited spread of gourmet dining to comfort food and every dessert you can think of. When you’re finished with your purchases, have all your packages and larger items delivered back to the ship for you.

☄ TREAT YO SELF

The accommodations on the Collective of CLF5 are as unique as they come. Lodging is available for those who want to sleep in an environment that’s underwater or perhaps those who desire something as simple as a soft bed. No matter what kind of room you want to purchase for the night, it’ll be available here, and the only true limit is the imagination. When you aren’t relaxing in a hotel room, you’ll find that there are numerous spas and hair salons that offer varied services. [Of course he wasn't expecting someone to answer him when he said that, so when someone does, he snaps to attention just slightly, lifting his head. But even then, he doesn't quite turn to the person into question, pretending to be that into shoes, because of his own eye or lack there of.

After a second, though, he shrugs his head at the window or what she said. She can assume whatever she wants there.]

Not sure yet. I don't know a lot about shoes to know what one to pick. [So that's a problem, he thinks. But she does bring up one thing that catches his attention. He wasn't sure because 1) he didn't see any in the window and 2) this place was a very beach like, but now he has to ask:]

There are boots in there?

Yeah. They're further in. Light-weight, but they seem like they could last a while.

[ It's what matters to Charlie regarding footwear. ]

They also had a pretty big selection of sneakers, too.

[The idea of light-weight boots when he had heavy-duty ones before is of course disappointing, but Carl considers them anyway. Why? That's only because he's learned not to be so choosey with what he can get anymore and he isn't going to start now.]

Suppose I should look at those. [He agrees, turning to look at her just barely, with his one eye.] I need something that could last a while.

[And given that the rest of the choices look to be sandals or sneakers, there is nothing that seems it would be better in comparison.]

They looked pretty sturdy.

[ Which makes Charlie happy. And she watches Carl some, worried about his behavior. But she won't pry. Carl reminds he of herself, honestly. She can't poke at a kid who reminds her too much of herself. ]

There are...far too many choices in there.

Mmhm. [He hums in response. It's his way of saying the boots probably are. Plus Carl feels anxious just standing outside, thinking he should in. Get those choices down to something to show for.

There's just one problem to deal with first, he knows, and that's not hiding his face anymore and seeing how this girl reacts. He turns completely to face her while holding his figurative breath. Really he doesn't care what she thinks, he tells himself.]

Then we will just have to choose something... [He cuts off before he can say 'won't we?' because he can't bring himself to add the expectancy of her coming along with him now she can see his whole face. He eyes her as cooly as he can.]

[ If he's expecting a grimace or some sort of negative reaction, maybe horror or a wince or revulsion? He's not getting any of it. Charlie has seen worse. Hell, Charlie's caused worse. She looks at him like nothing's wrong, giving the situation the briefest glace before nodding. ]

We sure will. I'm Leigh.

[ And she's holding her hand out to shake, provided the kid wants to. If not? It's not gonna bother her. ]

[Carl was expecting something, so the fact his bandage gets nothing but brief glance is probably more surprising to him. So for a moment, he stares at her a little hesitantly, then nods slightly. He figures he owes it her to give her a chance now, though.]

Uh, okay... let's go in. [He doesn't take her hand to shake, but does gesture for her to come when he starts moving toward the store, if only because he doesn't know how to bring himself to stop keeping his distance from people all because of his mood, at least not just yet.]

I'm Carl. [He says while he opens the shop door. Sure he may be in a mood, but at least he has some manners still as he holds the door just behind him in wait for her. She's earned that much, though.]

[ And again, that sense of 'I know this because I am this' hits her, a small twinge in her chest at his behavior. She can accept that he isn't one for hand-shakes. That's fine. She follows him to the door, stepping past him enough to hold the door open. ]

Thanks. You're a better gentleman than most adults I've met.

[ Her experience with most adults has been lacking in decency. Most of them are murderers or just bugfuck nuts. ]

And it looks like the shop's cleared out some.

[ There are significantly less people than there were before. ]

[Carl doesn't comment, just nods at her thanks. It's what he did all the time when holding the door for his friends behind when they scavenged for supplies, what he was taught to do before that is all. He moves away from the door when she is inside, taking in the number of people around and where the boots are again.]

Looks like. Must of come and gone when we weren't looking. [He certainly noticed there were more people when he was looking in the window before, after all. But he can't complain. Less people means he will have to deal with less stares. There's a small sense of relief that washes over him for knowing that.]

Not too many people to judge us if we stay too long. [He says, because he remembers the first thing she said to him before and decides that thought is better to think or say aloud than any of his.]

[ Charlie looks visibly more relaxed at how empty the store is. She's good without people being in here and making her nervous. Now, she can focus on getting shoes, getting out, and maybe helping Carl, too. ]

If anyone judges us for staying too long, their lives must be really boring.

[ Now to the boots. Charlie heads right to them, giving the shopkeeper a smile and a wave. ]

[Carl remains as stiff and stumped as he probably was outside, but at least now he's moving around a bit than standing idle, he's talking to someone rather than trying to avoid eye contact with them. And this is helping him settle with his surroundings, go about doing things he needs to do for himself, like finding shoes so he's not barefoot anymore. Charlie's presence is helping him a lot, it seems.]

And us too. If we stay too long, we're probably just as boring as them. [He comments, maybe not quite with amusement in his voice but at least starting to come in the spirit of it.

He's not far behind her when she heads to an aisle with boots, tilting his head just so to avoid having the shopkeeper see his face completely. His head tilts the other way when the boots come in to sight though, allowing his single eye to see things better, on his right or left.]
