"Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and offered a contract to sign that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

Having left Amissis-Re behind, tensions among crew members have continued to escalate into ship-wide consequences, and recognizing the need for some separation among those aboard the Moira, the Captains make the unanimous decision to deviate from their present course to a "nearby" planet that is notable for such popular distractions. While it is not a permanent solution, measures are being taken to monitor the crew's morale much more closely. New arrivals will be treated as they always are; yet, now, more than ever, it is important to stress the balance of working together toward their goal of reaching their destination so that everyone will return home.

WELCOME TO COLLECTIVES ASH3 - BF3 - CLF5

The Collective is a paradise resort located far from any other neighboring planets to offer the most leisurely experience possible to its patrons. Artificially created for multiple uses, it is divided into separate locales interconnected with a tubing transport system that is so fast and efficient that it’s like being teleported to the next area. Extensive mapping can be found at various intersecting points to offer some direction, and there are even recognizable adverts from a very familiar stop months before spread out across the Collective. Whether looking to explore or to simply shed the weight of anxiety, there are plenty of opportunities to be found within ASH3, BF3, and CLF5.

All crew members are given a card from the Captains that has an unlimited amount of credits on it. Organized through trade, these allow Moirans access to any of the luxuries that the Collective has to offer aside from the purchase of items considered weapons due to the escalation of recent events. Food, clothes, trinkets, or even a full spa experience—the limits, otherwise, are endless. The Captains emphasize that this is time to relax and take a break from the grind that is living and working on a spaceship as unique as the Moira.

B.E.A.C.H! THE BEST ESCAPE ANYONE CAN HAVE!
For those seeking a fun time, the Collective offers a variety of activities on ASH3. There are multiple beaches to enjoy as well as beachside kiosks offering drinks, beach toys and surf equipment for those a little more sports-minded. The tide washes in beautiful shells to collect, and there are always life-guards on duty to make sure everyone stays safe while enjoying their time on the beach. ASH3 offers a safe and friendly environment with plenty of fun in the sun for everyone. There is also a boardwalk full of restaurants, bars and plenty of games and entertainment for when you want to step off the sand but don’t want to give up being out in the sun.For those who can’t or won’t bear the sun, ASH3 also offers a thriving night life on both beach and boardwalk. There are midnight boat tours to view the bioluminescent schools of fish native to the island and bonfire dance parties that go long into the mornings. On the boardwalk, all shops are open until midnight as well as many clubs and social spots where crew can mingle with other tourists in the area.

So you don’t like the sand. It’s too hot, and it gets everywhere. Then hop onto one of the many transportation systems, slip into some warmer clothes, and take to the slopes. More experienced crew can immediately dive in, but those who need help can take lessons on how to ski or snowboard. There’s hot cocoa, sleds, snowball fights, and the occasional person making a snow angel (or snow person). ASH3 also has areas for rock climbing, sky diving, base jumping, bodyboarding, canoeing, hang gliding, jetskis, mountain biking, hiking, and much more.

WHEN I SHOP, THE WORLD GETS BETTER
Not everyone enjoys shopping, but this Collective entices even the most frugal and reluctant into spending their credits here. In fact, the Captains are encouraging this. They give the explicit “order” to buy whatever you want for yourself and your fellow crew members, but more than that, to consider making purchases to better the ship. Is there any area of the Moira that needs spruced up? Maybe some fresh paint in the mess hall,or new furniture in the decks? Maybe some fancy curtains for all those windows on the observation deck, or a few throw pillows? New pots and pans for the kitchen might be something to add to this list as well as equipment for the rec area, or whatever else you think BF3 will have to help increase comfort aboard the Moira.

To enhance your shopping experience, the technology here allows you to try on clothes without lifting a hand. The food here is an unlimited spread of gourmet dining to comfort food and every dessert you can think of. When you’re finished with your purchases, have all your packages and larger items delivered back to the ship for you.

TREAT YO SELF
The accommodations on the Collective of CLF5 are as unique as they come. Lodging is available for those who want to sleep in an environment that’s underwater or perhaps those who desire something as simple as a soft bed. No matter what kind of room you want to purchase for the night, it’ll be available here, and the only true limit is the imagination. When you aren’t relaxing in a hotel room, you’ll find that there are numerous spas and hair salons that offer varied services. Gold face masks rejuvenate your skin, the Ever Young™ Spa can make you look ten years younger with one treatment, and the mud baths are known across the universes for making you feel youthful and refreshed. If you’re looking for a new hairstyle or to relax, this Collective is the place for you to spend those hard-earned credits.

Zam Wesell | Star Wars | OTA

[personal profile] backsassin 2016-06-03 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
i. beach, please
[It’s several days before Zam feels well enough to leave the ship. Going the better part of a week without sleep means he’s spent most of his time trying to catch up and being unconscious also comes with the bonus of not having to think about any of the previous week’s events. By the time he sets foot on planet, he feels slightly better than death, which is a marked improvement from before. He still doesn’t know what caused his hallucinations, if they were indeed hallucinations. He still has no explanation for the bruises on his neck. But there haven’t been any more incidents, they’re on a resort planet, and Zam can think of no better place to aggressively try and forget his woes.

Starting modestly, of course. He still doesn’t have the energy for any of the more active pursuits offered by the planet, but fortunately, there is a beach, beaches have sunlight, and sunlight is good for lazing around in. People will be able to find him on a beach chair on the sand, wearing a tank top and swim shorts he got with his rank rewards. There’s an unclaimed chair next to him if anyone else is interested taking in the sun as well.]

ii. a weapon of massive consumption
[Eventually, Zam feels well enough to try something a little more active: namely, deciding to see if that card from the captains really does carry unlimited credits. He’s rather disappointed to find that there’s a planetary embargo on weapon sales, but he quickly finds other commodities to occupy his attention and his spending. Currently, you can find him at one of the planet’s many department stores, messing with the holographic clothing display. However, you’ll notice that it’s not just his clothes that are changing in the reflection. Every once and awhile, his face will change as well, to that of a vaguely related-looking woman. He clearly doesn’t see anything strange about this and will ignore stares from most passersby. If that staring passerby happens to be wearing a MID, however...]

It’s nice, isn’t it? [He’ll turn to meet your stare head-on, a wry smile on his face (either of them). And then:] Do you normally watch people while they’re changing?
chain_dash: (yes?)

[ Drifter continues to stare unabashedly, his repsponse projected by his Companion Sprite. ]

Perhaps if people changing shape were normal I would not.

[ The fact that Zam is an unfamiliar species just makes him more curious. ]

[personal profile] backsassin 2016-06-03 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
It’s normal for people like me, [Zam says, unperturbed. He gives the stranger a onceover, the holographic display on the mirror behind him disappearing as he turns his attention fully away.]

You’re new here. [It isn’t a question.] Don’t worry; you’ll find plenty of people here much stranger than me. Give it a couple of days.
chain_dash: (arms crossed)

[personal profile] chain_dash 2016-06-03 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
And what sort of people is that?

[ He wonders if the rest of his species can change like that. Must be hard to keep track of who is who if everyone could change their face.

It must be painfully obvious that they are new, but he doesn't care. He's not sure what the other would mean by stranger. In his world he is the strange one, a peaceful, even helpful blueskin drifter.
]

Is it something I should worry over?

Changelings. [He doesn’t include the “Clawdite” modifier if only because he doubts it would mean anything to the stranger. Of course, he’d be even less likely to include it if it did mean something to him.]

No, not really. Given how we come across new crew, it would be stranger if we weren’t strange.[An amused smile at his own confusing wording.] You pull people in from different galaxies and different versions of galaxies, you’re going to get some quirks.
chain_dash: (Default)

[personal profile] chain_dash 2016-06-05 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There are few stories left to be told in the Lands of Buried Time. No time for fantasies and fairytales when all you can do is survive sometimes. But what stories have been passed down from before the Immortal Cell's corruption are practical in nature; Always follow the Black Hound; Beware Judgement; Fear those with blue skin. Stories of shape shifters, if there ever were any, never survived to be told. ]

Changelings.

Is that what your species is called?

[ He assumes the other is referring to the portal through which he'd stumbled from Central Town to the Moira. Not unlike a warp pad, but he'd been unable to return for some reason. Drifter can only presume that a galaxy is like a country, or a world, but... ]

Different versions?

[personal profile] backsassin 2016-06-10 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
It’s a word for those who can change their appearance. So yes -- it’s used to refer to my species quite often. [And it’s one of the kinder terms by far.]

Different versions. Like a copy of your home, but not an exact copy. [A shrug.] I don’t know how it works. But the different versions do exist. We saw a few, before we came here… [He trails off, expression looking rather sour.] It’s how you end up with multiple versions of the same person on the ship.

[A slight smile.] Like I said: stranger people than me.

[it creates somewhat of a loud THUMP and a shockwave, but riptide doesn't care. he flops down on the sand next to zam.]

Zaaaaam...

[At least he didn’t sneak up on Zam before flopping onto the sand like that. Not like Riptide could, given his size. Zam’s chair still bounces on impact, though given Riptide’s recent trouble with Tarn, he decides not to express any annoyance.]

Riptide. Welcome back to the land of the living.
knaval: (and see)

[personal profile] knaval 2016-06-05 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Urghh...

[he groans a little louder.]

Zaaaam... you were right.

[Zam turns his head towards the Cybertronian.] You’re going to have to be more specific. [He’s right about a lot of things, after all.]
knaval: (ruining the play)

[personal profile] knaval 2016-06-08 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
About the human thing. I obviously can't take you guys seriously if I'm stupid enough to antagonise that really dangerous purple guy with one of you around.

[he draws his arms up to cross them under his chin, bringing up a load of sand in the process.]
backsassin: by <user name = sousaphone> (21)

[personal profile] backsassin 2016-06-11 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Zam looks at Riptide for a moment longer and then looks away with a sigh.] Yeah. That was pretty stupid. [He isn’t going to sugarcoat it; given Tarn’s history of violence, it would have been stupid even if Luke wasn’t there.]

Why antagonize him anyway? Guy like that, you’d have to know how he’d react.
knaval: (sit down)

[personal profile] knaval 2016-06-11 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[he's... actually relieved that zam agrees with him. people keep telling him it's not his fault and it was all on tarn, but riptide knows it wouldn't have happened if he hadn't said anything.]

I don't know. You know when you do something really stupid but can't stop? It was like that, only I almost got someone killed.

[Look, she and Zam Wessell haven't crossed paths all that often. Leia's been busy with the endless drama that is the Skywalker clan, and Zam has been...doing whatever it is Zam does.

So perhaps it could be forgiven if she didn't realize that Wessell was a shapeshifter in addition to a bounty hunter.

She has the good grace to look a bit embarrassed at the man's words and turns back to her own hologram, but not before speaking.]

My apologies. You looked like someone I know.

[His smile grows into a grin at Leia’s reply. He changes his voice to the one they use with their female form, the one Leia is more familiar with.]

I am someone you know.

[He’s teasing, taking some of the bite out of his pointed question from before. Humans and non-shapeshifters in general can be strange about Zam’s abilities. Provided they’re merely inexperienced and not actively malicious, Zam’s willing to take it lightly.]
imahologram: (thirty-six.)

[personal profile] imahologram 2016-06-08 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Her eyes widen as the voice changes, and then the switch flips.]

Zam! I didn't realize--it's good to see you. [A smile, pleasant.] How have you been?
backsassin: by <user name = sousaphone> (2)

[personal profile] backsassin 2016-06-11 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[It’s always funny watching that realization hit. Leia’s not the slowest by far.]

Alright, [Zam lies, easily. If Leia’s asking that question with such a genuine smile, there’s a good chance she had missed Zam’s network post from a couple of weeks earlier.] Retail therapy’s not hurting either. Personally, I’m taking the “infinite credit balance” on those cards as a challenge. [A crooked smile.] How about you?
hellsbel: (10)

[strolls over -- sarong draped like a towel around their neck over a vivid orange bikini -- and eyes the sun-soaked chair with some concern and the sun-soaked Clawdite with slightly more though less obvious concern. no danger from this sun, though, except the usual type, so hands Zam a cheerfully magenta glass of what is hopefully some kind of fruit juice, drapes their sarong over the chair to take the bite off, and leans back next to him.]

Always suspected you were solar-powered. [pats his hand, their own chilled by the condensation from the other glass. he looks like hell and it's good to have him back.]
backsassin: by <user name = sousaphone> (and let 'em all shake)

[personal profile] backsassin 2016-06-10 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Taking the glass comes first. Looking up to see who’s just handed it to them comes second. A satisfied smile seeing that it’s Bel and then a sip as he leans back against his chair.]

I wish. Give me a few hours on this planet and I’d be good as new. [Which isn’t to say that the sun isn’t helping; if he’s going to be an exhausted mess, better that it be somewhere warm. He scoots his hand closer to Bel’s.]

So on a scale of one to ten, how much of an idiot did I make of myself on the network?
hellsbel: (15)

[personal profile] hellsbel 2016-06-10 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
[shades eyes with the other arm, glancing over with a crooked smile.] Mmm... fifteen, I'd say. Ten out of ten for pure bile. So, you know, around average for the usual tone on there.

[curls hand around Zam's, resting his arm along their own on the arms of the chairs. hope you don't need that back any time soon.~]

You'll get your hours, though, and then some. Sounds like we're staying for a while.

[wonders how he feels, how much he remembers... thankfully there's no Jango anywhere on the list of new arrivals. safe, more or less, for another month.]
backsassin: by <user name = sousaphone> (21)

[personal profile] backsassin 2016-06-11 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
And here I was hoping to break new ground, [Zam says, glad for Bel’s willingness to play it off. It hadn’t been a good experience by any stretch of the imagination, but no one had actually died, so… it’s more than fair game, right?]

Infinite credits, a resort planet, and a ship with medical facilities that can bring people back from the dead. Don’t see why we don’t just stay here forever. [It’s half-joke, half-wishful thinking. Everyone else is so preoccupied with going home, it’s not like the idea would gain much traction if it were serious. But Zam’s tired and after everything that had happened in the past month? Going home is the last thing he wants to think about.]
hellsbel: (4)

[personal profile] hellsbel 2016-06-14 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
[definitely.] I'm sure you'll find plenty of ground to break around the Collective.~

If I could bring everyone I know here.... [wistful sigh] Or the medical tech back there, I suppose. You still haven't seen a real Betan resort.
backsassin: by <user name = sousaphone> (1)

[personal profile] backsassin 2016-06-16 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure. Ground’s just gonna have to do some waiting first. [Specifically, it can wait until he’s back on an even moderately reasonable sleep cycle.]

And I probably won’t given what happened to that reverse Ingress. [It’s likely for the best, given how dangerous it ended up being. He sighs, then turns his head towards Bel with a smile.] But you can still tell me about them.
hellsbel: (17)

[personal profile] hellsbel 2016-06-17 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
It's not going anywhere. [sips their own drink, squeezes Zam's hand. neither are they.

noncommittal hm at the memory -- that gang they ran into certainly hadn't been prowling for the betterment of humankind. a glint of the eye, though, at Zam's smile.]
I surely could. But there's no substitute for showing you.

By the way... have you talked with Miles recently? [because there was this bright idea they'd been discussing....] I know he can be... hard to catch.
