"Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and offered a contract to sign that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

Having left Amissis-Re behind, tensions among crew members have continued to escalate into ship-wide consequences, and recognizing the need for some separation among those aboard the Moira, the Captains make the unanimous decision to deviate from their present course to a "nearby" planet that is notable for such popular distractions. While it is not a permanent solution, measures are being taken to monitor the crew's morale much more closely. New arrivals will be treated as they always are; yet, now, more than ever, it is important to stress the balance of working together toward their goal of reaching their destination so that everyone will return home.

WELCOME TO COLLECTIVES ASH3 - BF3 - CLF5

The Collective is a paradise resort located far from any other neighboring planets to offer the most leisurely experience possible to its patrons. Artificially created for multiple uses, it is divided into separate locales interconnected with a tubing transport system that is so fast and efficient that it’s like being teleported to the next area. Extensive mapping can be found at various intersecting points to offer some direction, and there are even recognizable adverts from a very familiar stop months before spread out across the Collective. Whether looking to explore or to simply shed the weight of anxiety, there are plenty of opportunities to be found within ASH3, BF3, and CLF5.

All crew members are given a card from the Captains that has an unlimited amount of credits on it. Organized through trade, these allow Moirans access to any of the luxuries that the Collective has to offer aside from the purchase of items considered weapons due to the escalation of recent events. Food, clothes, trinkets, or even a full spa experience—the limits, otherwise, are endless. The Captains emphasize that this is time to relax and take a break from the grind that is living and working on a spaceship as unique as the Moira.

B.E.A.C.H! THE BEST ESCAPE ANYONE CAN HAVE!
For those seeking a fun time, the Collective offers a variety of activities on ASH3. There are multiple beaches to enjoy as well as beachside kiosks offering drinks, beach toys and surf equipment for those a little more sports-minded. The tide washes in beautiful shells to collect, and there are always life-guards on duty to make sure everyone stays safe while enjoying their time on the beach. ASH3 offers a safe and friendly environment with plenty of fun in the sun for everyone. There is also a boardwalk full of restaurants, bars and plenty of games and entertainment for when you want to step off the sand but don’t want to give up being out in the sun.For those who can’t or won’t bear the sun, ASH3 also offers a thriving night life on both beach and boardwalk. There are midnight boat tours to view the bioluminescent schools of fish native to the island and bonfire dance parties that go long into the mornings. On the boardwalk, all shops are open until midnight as well as many clubs and social spots where crew can mingle with other tourists in the area.

So you don’t like the sand. It’s too hot, and it gets everywhere. Then hop onto one of the many transportation systems, slip into some warmer clothes, and take to the slopes. More experienced crew can immediately dive in, but those who need help can take lessons on how to ski or snowboard. There’s hot cocoa, sleds, snowball fights, and the occasional person making a snow angel (or snow person). ASH3 also has areas for rock climbing, sky diving, base jumping, bodyboarding, canoeing, hang gliding, jetskis, mountain biking, hiking, and much more.

WHEN I SHOP, THE WORLD GETS BETTER
Not everyone enjoys shopping, but this Collective entices even the most frugal and reluctant into spending their credits here. In fact, the Captains are encouraging this. They give the explicit “order” to buy whatever you want for yourself and your fellow crew members, but more than that, to consider making purchases to better the ship. Is there any area of the Moira that needs spruced up? Maybe some fresh paint in the mess hall,or new furniture in the decks? Maybe some fancy curtains for all those windows on the observation deck, or a few throw pillows? New pots and pans for the kitchen might be something to add to this list as well as equipment for the rec area, or whatever else you think BF3 will have to help increase comfort aboard the Moira.

To enhance your shopping experience, the technology here allows you to try on clothes without lifting a hand. The food here is an unlimited spread of gourmet dining to comfort food and every dessert you can think of. When you’re finished with your purchases, have all your packages and larger items delivered back to the ship for you.

TREAT YO SELF
The accommodations on the Collective of CLF5 are as unique as they come. Lodging is available for those who want to sleep in an environment that’s underwater or perhaps those who desire something as simple as a soft bed. No matter what kind of room you want to purchase for the night, it’ll be available here, and the only true limit is the imagination. When you aren’t relaxing in a hotel room, you’ll find that there are numerous spas and hair salons that offer varied services. Gold face masks rejuvenate your skin, the Ever Young™ Spa can make you look ten years younger with one treatment, and the mud baths are known across the universes for making you feel youthful and refreshed. If you’re looking for a new hairstyle or to relax, this Collective is the place for you to spend those hard-earned credits.

[And he...still hasn't realized she's there. So she finds a rock and throws it at the sand right near his feet. That should get his attention. But just in case, she clears her throat. When he turns around, she has a hand on her hip.]

If you wanted to spend the day playing with kids, you could've just let me know when I told you to meet me here.

[She doesn't actually mind him doing it, it's actually pretty endearing. She just can't show that she's really amused by the kids throwing rocks at him because it will make her look soft. She can't have that happening.]

[Luke turns to look, and he has some kind of rebuttal in mind, but all conscious thought goes out the window when he sees her wearing the bikini. Look, Luke isn't a lascivious person. If asked what body part he most valued in a woman, he'd say their face. He's just not distracted or surprised by bared skin. But he's never seen Cassandra like this before, and it does catch his attention.]

[He doesn't stare, but he does gape for half a second before his wit comes back to him.]
I- Cassandra, you're beautiful. [Just filling that quotient, apparently.]
deal: (almost a smile)

[personal profile] deal 2016-06-02 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[She hadn't put any thought into how she looked out in her bikini, because so many other women were wearing them too. But seeing Luke look at her like that and address the fact he thinks she's beautiful makes her feel like she's put herself on display when that wasn't her intention. So her cheeks turn red as she looks away, smiling a little in spite of her embarrassment.]

Do you want to go out into the water? You won't even have to swim.
t65: (i know i knowww)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-02 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[Luke nods.] You're in charge of making sure I don't drown. [He takes her hand, gently as he can with the metal fingers.]

[personal profile] deal 2016-06-02 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Deal.

[Taking hold of his hand, she leads him out into the water. It's been so long since she's been to a beach just to enjoy herself, that it feels surreal to be doing it now.]

We'll just go out to your knees first.

[Since she doesn't want him to think she's going to lead him out into chest deep water or anything. Especially not with his prosthetic still attached.]
t65: (wwwwwwhhh)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-02 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not that bad a swimmer. C'mon. [He keeps his hand in hers, though now he's pulling her forward, past the point where the waterline hits their knees.] I even fixed my arm. It should be waterproof.

[Or it will spark and die. Either / or.]
deal: (knowing)

[personal profile] deal 2016-06-02 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[She glances up at him with a pleased look. All of his tinkering pays off when it comes to thinks like making his arm waterproof. ]

Let's keep going out further. We might see some fish or something out there.

[Or his arm might spark and kill him or something, it'll be an adventure.]
t65: (sure han.)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-02 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you think we could catch one? [Luke doesn't know how fish work.] I've always wanted to see one up close. [Luke, that is really not how fish work.]
deal: (laughter)

[personal profile] deal 2016-06-02 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[She tries not laughing in his face.] Do you think you can catch one with your bare hands?

[This might prove to be entertaining.]

You should see if you can do it.

[It's totally not how fish work but it's going to be funny anyway.]
t65: (i think the force is with someone else)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-02 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[What, people are always talking about catching fish on the holonet. That's what you do with them, right. Luke's in the water up to his navel, now, swaying slightly with the current, considering it.]

Well, you have to teach me how to swim first, right?
deal: (knowing)

[personal profile] deal 2016-06-03 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Normally, a swim lesson from her would involve just shoving someone face first into the water and watching them try to come back up to catch a breath. Something tells her that might be too rough for Luke, so she pulls away from him and wades out far enough that she's up to her chest in the water.]

I promised I would, didn't I? The waves might mess you up a little, but you should always be able to touch bottom out here.
t65: (lando who cleans the ventilation tubes)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-03 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Luke follows her, and takes an experimental dip in the water. He lowers his arm in, and... the ring and pinky fingers twitch, spark, contort, and fall dead and lifeless. Luke sighs and rips them off, throwing them into the sea. He's never made anything waterproof before, and joints aren't easy to keep mobile and stable and sturdy.]

[He looks back to Cassandra, enthusiasm renewed.]
Okay. What should I do?
deal: (SIGH)

[personal profile] deal 2016-06-06 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[She's too busy staring at what's just happened to his prosthetic to say anything at first. Way to make things waterproof, Luke. Slowly, she glances over at him, trying not to smile in amusement.]

Next time, take off the arm before you get into the water. For now, you should be out far enough to float. If you can't float, you're always going to sink, no matter how hard you try to swim.

[She demonstrates by laying back in the water. This is a good time to note that Cassandra is not a good teacher and she's a watch me then do what I do kind of person.]

t65: (the fucking freakishly well defined arms)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-07 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, how was I gonna tell it worked if I didn't- oh. [And then Cassandra's floating, and Luke figures he better try as well. He leans back in the water, and promptly sinks; he keeps his back too rigid, neither trusting nor compensating for the current.]

[Watch him flounder, Cassandra!]
deal: (yeah okay)

[personal profile] deal 2016-06-10 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
[She moves to stand back up in the water, looking over at Luke like he's a dead weight she doesn't know what to do with. He goes under and she just stares, looking completely at a loss. After she thinks he might actually be drowning, she figures she should do something. Moving in closer to him, looking skeptical that this is going to work at all, she slips her hands beneath him and hoists him up to be above the water.]

You have to trust that you're not going to sink. If you're tense, you'll go under again. And if you don't trust the water, then trust me. I've got you.
t65: (who cleans this part of cloud city)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-10 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Luke looks up at Cassandra with the expression drowned rats would have if they were embarrassed of being drowned. But fair's fair, and he did say he'd like her to teach him to swim. This is a part of that, even if he finds it a little humiliating.]

[So he closes his eyes and focuses.]
I trust you. And- and I can try to trust the water. [His lip twitches in a smile, and he tries to relax. She's right; it is easier with her there.]
deal: (sass)

[personal profile] deal 2016-06-10 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
[It's a good thing he says that, because she removes her arms from underneath him pretty quickly. To see if he'll be able to float on his own.]

The important thing is going to be making sure you know the arm motions. You paddle with your arms and kick with your legs. Floating makes it all easier somehow.

[She can't describe why because she's sure it has something to do with science, and that's all over her head.]

I can show you how to move your arms, if you want.
t65: (dear diary: still not a jedi)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-10 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
[And Luke wobbles a bit, but he does manage to stay floating. He looks over at Cassandra with an adoring expression; he attributes this success totally to her presence, and the fact that she's clearly a natural teacher.] Okay. I could probably use a demonstration.
deal: (brave)

[personal profile] deal 2016-06-10 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
[The way he looks at her makes her want to smile. She doesn't, because water safety is no laughing matter. And also, because she's sure she's about to look stupid. In order to show him the arm motions she uses for swimming (she has no idea if they're the right ones or not, but they're what she does anyway). And then, to show him how they work in action, she swims forward.

And stays out and waits for him to do the same and get out to her.
]

Now you try.
t65: (the star wars comedy hour.)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-10 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Luke paddles out, far less elegantly than her, following his motions the whole way. It's using all the nautical abilities of a three-year-old, but Luke is still clearly excited by his rapid progress. He grins ear to ear.] I think I got it! [Because that's, like, all there is to it, right?]
