Why should I have to go alone? Adventures are more fun when you share them with someone.
[Not sure if that's convincing enough or not, her pout turns into a slight smile.]
If you're afraid of doing it, just say so. I won't think poorly of you.

Doing something like hang gliding, not for a mission but just for the hell of it? It's almost completely foreign to him. On the other hand, this girl doesn't seem likely to let up any time soon.
She even takes the method of shaming him into it by implying that he's afraid.
Sadly enough, it works. ]
I'm not afraid. Just a little surprised that you would ask a complete stranger to do something like this with you.
[ It seems like an activity that would be reserved for friends, not that he's an expect on the subject. ]

[It's a soft admission, one that has her frowning a little. She can't very well meet people and form friendships if she's not willing to force strangers to do things with her, can she? She doesn't think so. So she's incredibly happy that he's still standing there, which clearly means he's going to accompany her. He's just trying to talk himself out of it. Which she won't allow. ]
Which is exactly why I approached you, a stranger. I'm Clara, by the way, Clara Oswald. [He seems like the sort who might appreciate a firm handshake. She extends her arm so he can shake her hand if he wants.]
You are?

Clara, meanwhile, doesn't hesitate to admit that she doesn't know anyone, which some might see as the same as copping up to a vulnerability. It doesn't really come across that way when she does it, and yet Snake feels oddly guilted all the same. ]
I'm Snake. [ It's a codename, though he doesn't bother to explain that right now. She'll ask if she's really that curious. ]
So. Hang gliding, huh? [ It's not a verbal agreement, but it's as close as Clara's going to get to one right now. ]

It's not that unusual for someone to want to do something adventurous, is it?
[As she asks him, she finishes dragging him to the gliders themselves, where an attendant comes to secure them in place. She assumes he's given his agreement to go, or else he would've run off by now. Since he hasn't, he's stuck doing this.]

He's past the point of no return by now, though, so he keeps it to himself. His line of work has allowed him to do a variety of dangerous stunts, jumping out of planes with a parachute included, so he isn't perturbed by the concept of hang gliding, even if he's never done it before. Snake stands in place while the attendants get them rigged up. ]
I don't know. I think most people like to stay in their comfort zones. [ But if adventure is her comfort zone... ]

[She glances over at him, smiling but serious as she says it. A handful of months ago, she was content to stay in her comfort zone. She was afraid to set out and explore, to do more than be a nanny to the Maitlands. She still holds fears and reservations, but at least now she's able to embrace the fact that she craves adventure and doing as many new things as possible.
They're motioned to head out without much instruction on what knobs and levers do what, which leaves Clara looking a little worried about certain death.]
Question. Do you have any idea how to fly this thing? Because I think I've just signed us up to go on a death trap.
[She hopes so, because they're seconds away from making a move off an incredibly high point. Her mouth forms a comical frown, and it's the last thing she recalls before they plummet over the edge and do a nosedive. She can't help but scream, since it feels like her stomach is trying to claw its way into her throat.]

They really don't get much in the way of instruction, do they. The attendants hadn't even asked if they were beginners. This is a pretty extreme version of being tossed right into the deep end.
Snake glances over at Clara, an eyebrow raised. ] It should be pretty intuitive --
[ He can't say much more before they're being rushed off the platform. Snake doesn't make a sound, but Clara does more than enough of that for both of them. It might have been funny if she didn't seem to be truly scared for her life. ]
Straighten your body out! [ Snake raises his voice, hoping that the wind whipping by both of them won't drown him out. ] The wind should do most of the work! [ He adjusts his weight, trying to even his body out into a horizontal position so that the glider can find a wind current and ride it into something smoother than this straight plummet. ]
