"Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and offered a contract to sign that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

Having left Amissis-Re behind, tensions among crew members have continued to escalate into ship-wide consequences, and recognizing the need for some separation among those aboard the Moira, the Captains make the unanimous decision to deviate from their present course to a "nearby" planet that is notable for such popular distractions. While it is not a permanent solution, measures are being taken to monitor the crew's morale much more closely. New arrivals will be treated as they always are; yet, now, more than ever, it is important to stress the balance of working together toward their goal of reaching their destination so that everyone will return home.

WELCOME TO COLLECTIVES ASH3 - BF3 - CLF5

The Collective is a paradise resort located far from any other neighboring planets to offer the most leisurely experience possible to its patrons. Artificially created for multiple uses, it is divided into separate locales interconnected with a tubing transport system that is so fast and efficient that it’s like being teleported to the next area. Extensive mapping can be found at various intersecting points to offer some direction, and there are even recognizable adverts from a very familiar stop months before spread out across the Collective. Whether looking to explore or to simply shed the weight of anxiety, there are plenty of opportunities to be found within ASH3, BF3, and CLF5.

All crew members are given a card from the Captains that has an unlimited amount of credits on it. Organized through trade, these allow Moirans access to any of the luxuries that the Collective has to offer aside from the purchase of items considered weapons due to the escalation of recent events. Food, clothes, trinkets, or even a full spa experience—the limits, otherwise, are endless. The Captains emphasize that this is time to relax and take a break from the grind that is living and working on a spaceship as unique as the Moira.

B.E.A.C.H! THE BEST ESCAPE ANYONE CAN HAVE!
For those seeking a fun time, the Collective offers a variety of activities on ASH3. There are multiple beaches to enjoy as well as beachside kiosks offering drinks, beach toys and surf equipment for those a little more sports-minded. The tide washes in beautiful shells to collect, and there are always life-guards on duty to make sure everyone stays safe while enjoying their time on the beach. ASH3 offers a safe and friendly environment with plenty of fun in the sun for everyone. There is also a boardwalk full of restaurants, bars and plenty of games and entertainment for when you want to step off the sand but don’t want to give up being out in the sun.For those who can’t or won’t bear the sun, ASH3 also offers a thriving night life on both beach and boardwalk. There are midnight boat tours to view the bioluminescent schools of fish native to the island and bonfire dance parties that go long into the mornings. On the boardwalk, all shops are open until midnight as well as many clubs and social spots where crew can mingle with other tourists in the area.

So you don’t like the sand. It’s too hot, and it gets everywhere. Then hop onto one of the many transportation systems, slip into some warmer clothes, and take to the slopes. More experienced crew can immediately dive in, but those who need help can take lessons on how to ski or snowboard. There’s hot cocoa, sleds, snowball fights, and the occasional person making a snow angel (or snow person). ASH3 also has areas for rock climbing, sky diving, base jumping, bodyboarding, canoeing, hang gliding, jetskis, mountain biking, hiking, and much more.

WHEN I SHOP, THE WORLD GETS BETTER
Not everyone enjoys shopping, but this Collective entices even the most frugal and reluctant into spending their credits here. In fact, the Captains are encouraging this. They give the explicit “order” to buy whatever you want for yourself and your fellow crew members, but more than that, to consider making purchases to better the ship. Is there any area of the Moira that needs spruced up? Maybe some fresh paint in the mess hall,or new furniture in the decks? Maybe some fancy curtains for all those windows on the observation deck, or a few throw pillows? New pots and pans for the kitchen might be something to add to this list as well as equipment for the rec area, or whatever else you think BF3 will have to help increase comfort aboard the Moira.

To enhance your shopping experience, the technology here allows you to try on clothes without lifting a hand. The food here is an unlimited spread of gourmet dining to comfort food and every dessert you can think of. When you’re finished with your purchases, have all your packages and larger items delivered back to the ship for you.

TREAT YO SELF
The accommodations on the Collective of CLF5 are as unique as they come. Lodging is available for those who want to sleep in an environment that’s underwater or perhaps those who desire something as simple as a soft bed. No matter what kind of room you want to purchase for the night, it’ll be available here, and the only true limit is the imagination. When you aren’t relaxing in a hotel room, you’ll find that there are numerous spas and hair salons that offer varied services. Gold face masks rejuvenate your skin, the Ever Young™ Spa can make you look ten years younger with one treatment, and the mud baths are known across the universes for making you feel youthful and refreshed. If you’re looking for a new hairstyle or to relax, this Collective is the place for you to spend those hard-earned credits.

What? No! [Luke actually manages to look scandalized at the suggestion.] I'm a pilot. [And then he laughs, because even he can realize when he's overreacting just a tad.]

I've just never flown anything without a motor before. Much less steering. So I hope you know what you're doing. [Which answers her first question. Neither yes nor no, just please.]
bosswald: (poutface)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-02 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're a pilot, shouldn't you be able to fly anything?

[She teases, doing a good job of looking rather unimpressed at his hoping she knows what she's doing. ]

I always manage to figure things out in the end, but knowing what I'm doing here? I wouldn't go so far as to think that.

[And then, with a reckless grin intact, the man getting them in place does whatever it is hang glide operators do and sends them off a cliff. To which Clara lets out a shout of delight, because wow they're plummeting downward quickly.]
t65: (one day i will use them)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-02 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I can! [Whiiiine.] Anything with an engine. [And, preferably, a repulsorlift and central steering.]

[And then, almost before he realizes it's happening, they're plummeting off a cliff. Luke whoops with excitement-- it's going fast, that's all that matters-- and maybe a little surprise. His heart's in his throat by the time they balance in the air.] Wow! I didn't know they did that.
bosswald: (teaseface)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-02 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
What difference does something having an engine or not make?

[Honestly. Men and their need to look like they can do anything.

As they balance out, she fiddles with the various push levers that are attached to the handlebar, and watches with great amusement as one squeeze causes them to drop rapidly, and releasing it allows them to gently coast, nicely balanced.
]

The important thing is, the view is fantastic.

[Really, it's breathtaking. The most beautiful thing Clara's seen in at least a week.]
t65: (wwwwwwhhh)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-02 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[Luke just holds on for dear life. He wonders if this is what R2 feels like.] It makes all the difference in how the thing works. This is a totally different system.

[He pokes at a lever.]
What's this do? [Since she obviously paid attention to this thing's inner workings. He looks over, as though waiting for permission before pulling it.]
bosswald: (sassface)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-02 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I don't know what any of it does. This is one of those learn as you go situations.

[So she gently slaps his hand away so she can be the one that pushes on the lever. It doesn't seem to do anything, so she just angrily pushes it in another three or four times.]

What's the use in having a lever that does nothing?
t65: (he is nine fucking teen.)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-02 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[Luke watches with mild concern.] It might be for emergencies. You should probably just leave it alone?

[Dropping out of the sky with a complete stranger sounds like an embarrassing way to die.]
bosswald: (shockface)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-02 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
What sort of emergency would a lever that does nothing be used for?

[She laughs as she says it, and gives it one more push just for good measure. This time, the glider tips forward and dives downward, causing Clara's eyes to widen in surprise. They're out over the ocean now, and the thought of hitting it from this high up doesn't sound very pleasant at all.

Once they level out, she glances over at him with a sheepish grin.
]

What sort of things are you used to flying? You never said what you were a pilot of when you mentioned it earlier.
t65: (my twin is so hot??? i mean)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-02 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[And Luke is left watching in horror, almost falling to his death, and hanging on for dear life. Again. He makes a mental note not to mention (or touch) any more levers.]

[We'll see how long that lasts.]

Oh, starfighters, mostly. Speeders, too, I guess. Nothing like this.
bosswald: (talkface)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-02 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
So, are you not from Earth, then? We don't have anything called starfighters.

[She asks it with curiosity, but doesn't look away from the scenery to ask him. She always enjoys meeting people from other worlds, but doesn't want to divert her attention too far away from the reason she's doing this in the first place.

And then, before he has time to answer -
]

There's got to be a way to make this go upward. You're a pilot, you should know what to do!
t65: (ive had it)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-03 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I'm not from Earth. [Why would anyone think that.]

This thing doesn't have propulsion, so we'd need to get momentum to move it upward. Dive and then soar. [He raises one hand up to make the motion in the air, his hand dipping down before curving up, making a rough 'U' shape.]
bosswald: (Default)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-04 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
The only way to do that is to start over again.

[Or find another cliff, but it doesn't exactly seem easy to land, carry themselves and this thing up another cliff, and then leap off again. So she looks over at him, realizing something.]

How are are supposed to get this back to its owner? We need to find a diving point.
t65: (yoda ur such a dick)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-06 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Or we could dip real low... [Low enough to nearly touch the ground, but it could work. Luke grins at the idea, before realizing he's with a near stranger. It's the kind of risk he'd take alone, but he can't risk someone else's neck.] That's... probably dangerous, though. We could always land in a tree, I guess...
bosswald: (Default)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-10 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
We are not landing in a tree.

[She bossily informs him, laughing at the idea of actually doing something like that. She's become a daredevil and loves the thrill of getting to do something exciting, so she looks over at him, giving his hand a pat.]

Go on, make us dip low. Dangerous or not, we should try!
t65: (i definitely know what im doing rn.)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-10 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Luke stares for a moment, trying to understand what just happened. He wasn't expecting his suggestion to be taken up so blithely. But he recovers quickly, and starts steering, searching for a clearing.]

We can do it there. On the count of three, ready...?
bosswald: (Default)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-10 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Nodding, she allows him to do the focusing on finding a clearing, so she can focus on being the one verbally giving commands.]

Three!

[Laughing in delight, she pushes her hand down over his that's over the lever needed to act out his plan of action. They're out in the open enough that she thinks it will be smooth sailing, even if it currently feels like her heart is leaping up into her throat.]
t65: (in this scene our intrepid hero)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-10 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Luke, meanwhile, is completely absorbed with calculating trajectories and making sure the arc is smooth enough to carry the inertia. It's not like flying powered crafts, he finds; you can't just do whatever you want. You really have to coax them. A little luck doesn't hurt, either.]

[Luke's always had fantastic luck.]

[They soar upward, rising swiftly past their previous altitude. Luke keeps it going as far up as he can. His excitement gets the better of him, and he gives out a whoop of joy.]
We'll only descend from here, so we should make the most of this.
bosswald: (Default)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-10 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Clara's too busy looking around and enjoying the fact they lived through that to say anything in response at first. She does eventually turn her head to smile over at him, giving him a nudge with her hip.]

Not bad, for someone who wasn't sure if this would work.
t65: (he looks 10 years old???)

[personal profile] t65 2016-06-10 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's the same theory, [Luke says, trying to ignore how he's constantly perplexed by this woman.] Just, I guess, different application? Whatever it is, we should probably head back before they send out a search party.
bosswald: (Default)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-10 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
As someone who worries entirely too much?

[There's a pause, and she allows him to do the flying. He's doing such a good job, it would be a shame to take the duty away from him.]

You're too worried. We'll make it back in time.

[Before this post reaches recaptcha, she means.]
