"Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and offered a contract to sign that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

Having left Amissis-Re behind, tensions among crew members have continued to escalate into ship-wide consequences, and recognizing the need for some separation among those aboard the Moira, the Captains make the unanimous decision to deviate from their present course to a "nearby" planet that is notable for such popular distractions. While it is not a permanent solution, measures are being taken to monitor the crew's morale much more closely. New arrivals will be treated as they always are; yet, now, more than ever, it is important to stress the balance of working together toward their goal of reaching their destination so that everyone will return home.

WELCOME TO COLLECTIVES ASH3 - BF3 - CLF5

The Collective is a paradise resort located far from any other neighboring planets to offer the most leisurely experience possible to its patrons. Artificially created for multiple uses, it is divided into separate locales interconnected with a tubing transport system that is so fast and efficient that it’s like being teleported to the next area. Extensive mapping can be found at various intersecting points to offer some direction, and there are even recognizable adverts from a very familiar stop months before spread out across the Collective. Whether looking to explore or to simply shed the weight of anxiety, there are plenty of opportunities to be found within ASH3, BF3, and CLF5.

All crew members are given a card from the Captains that has an unlimited amount of credits on it. Organized through trade, these allow Moirans access to any of the luxuries that the Collective has to offer aside from the purchase of items considered weapons due to the escalation of recent events. Food, clothes, trinkets, or even a full spa experience—the limits, otherwise, are endless. The Captains emphasize that this is time to relax and take a break from the grind that is living and working on a spaceship as unique as the Moira.

B.E.A.C.H! THE BEST ESCAPE ANYONE CAN HAVE!
For those seeking a fun time, the Collective offers a variety of activities on ASH3. There are multiple beaches to enjoy as well as beachside kiosks offering drinks, beach toys and surf equipment for those a little more sports-minded. The tide washes in beautiful shells to collect, and there are always life-guards on duty to make sure everyone stays safe while enjoying their time on the beach. ASH3 offers a safe and friendly environment with plenty of fun in the sun for everyone. There is also a boardwalk full of restaurants, bars and plenty of games and entertainment for when you want to step off the sand but don’t want to give up being out in the sun.For those who can’t or won’t bear the sun, ASH3 also offers a thriving night life on both beach and boardwalk. There are midnight boat tours to view the bioluminescent schools of fish native to the island and bonfire dance parties that go long into the mornings. On the boardwalk, all shops are open until midnight as well as many clubs and social spots where crew can mingle with other tourists in the area.

So you don’t like the sand. It’s too hot, and it gets everywhere. Then hop onto one of the many transportation systems, slip into some warmer clothes, and take to the slopes. More experienced crew can immediately dive in, but those who need help can take lessons on how to ski or snowboard. There’s hot cocoa, sleds, snowball fights, and the occasional person making a snow angel (or snow person). ASH3 also has areas for rock climbing, sky diving, base jumping, bodyboarding, canoeing, hang gliding, jetskis, mountain biking, hiking, and much more.

WHEN I SHOP, THE WORLD GETS BETTER
Not everyone enjoys shopping, but this Collective entices even the most frugal and reluctant into spending their credits here. In fact, the Captains are encouraging this. They give the explicit “order” to buy whatever you want for yourself and your fellow crew members, but more than that, to consider making purchases to better the ship. Is there any area of the Moira that needs spruced up? Maybe some fresh paint in the mess hall,or new furniture in the decks? Maybe some fancy curtains for all those windows on the observation deck, or a few throw pillows? New pots and pans for the kitchen might be something to add to this list as well as equipment for the rec area, or whatever else you think BF3 will have to help increase comfort aboard the Moira.

To enhance your shopping experience, the technology here allows you to try on clothes without lifting a hand. The food here is an unlimited spread of gourmet dining to comfort food and every dessert you can think of. When you’re finished with your purchases, have all your packages and larger items delivered back to the ship for you.

TREAT YO SELF
The accommodations on the Collective of CLF5 are as unique as they come. Lodging is available for those who want to sleep in an environment that’s underwater or perhaps those who desire something as simple as a soft bed. No matter what kind of room you want to purchase for the night, it’ll be available here, and the only true limit is the imagination. When you aren’t relaxing in a hotel room, you’ll find that there are numerous spas and hair salons that offer varied services. Gold face masks rejuvenate your skin, the Ever Young™ Spa can make you look ten years younger with one treatment, and the mud baths are known across the universes for making you feel youthful and refreshed. If you’re looking for a new hairstyle or to relax, this Collective is the place for you to spend those hard-earned credits.

Rick Grimes | The Walking Dead | OTA

[personal profile] atanycost 2016-06-01 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I. Arrival

[ Rick's got no problems admitting to himself that he's confused, but he's going to keep those thoughts to himself for the time being. All right, so now he's on a ship, which is definitely far removed from the last place he remembers being. And then there's the explanation about how he got here, followed by something about stopping on a planet.

It doesn't seem particularly relevant to him, this planet-side stop, but one thing he's figuring out is that he has no control here, at least as far as destinations go. If he did, he'd figure a way to get right back to where he came from, because this is no time to be stuck anywhere, not with the threat of Negan literally looming over him. But all of that being said, the first thing he has to do is assess the situation and figure out who around here he can actually trust.

And right now, that number is hovering right around zero. ]

Hey.

[ He looks up when he spots movement ahead of him and lurches into walking forward. ]

Hey, wait a second.

[ He comes up alongside them and gives them a quick glance to look for any signs of danger or dubious intent, because as far as he knows, he could be surrounded by people cut from the same cloth as the Saviors. But they look clean and relatively healthy, and there's no outward signs that point to the possibility that they might try doing him in. ]

Got a couple of questions, if you have time to answer them. I'm trying to find some people, some people that I was just with not that long ago.

[ What with the explanation he got, hes thinking those people aren't actually here, but he has to be completely sure. ]

Second thing is, I've got this gun here, but no bullets. Is there an armory or something around here?

[ If anything, this should say something about Rick's priorities: find the people he was with, make sure they're all right, if they're on the ship, then get to arming himself. After that, then he'll worry about things like finding a room and trying to settle in. If he can. ]

II. When I Shop (Sort Of)

[ This place is so fancy and just decorated like whoever put it together has money. It's nothing like Rick's seen before, but really, why would he? With walkers roaming everywhere, and desperate people running around and looting anything that hasn't already been picked up, most neighborhoods still standing are in varying states of disrepair.

Even the communities that groups of survivors have taken over don't look anything like this. It's so clean and organized that it looks almost foreign to Rick's eyes. He's standing in a corridor as if he's not sure where to turn, because honestly, he's not. This isn't really his thing, but oddly enough, what he's thinking is that if Lori were still here, she'd have a good time exploring the place.

His glance trails down to his hand where he's holding a card given to him. It's got money on it, as far as he can tell, and while he and Lori weren't really all that bad off, they never had a lot of excess funds. They managed, of course, and never wanted for anything before the world went to hell, but this is something completely different.

Too bad Rick isn't much into shopping. Wandering around and stretching his legs is one thing, which he's been doing, but shopping? Absolutely not something he's into. ]

One thing he is into, however, is food. Food is hit or miss, but he knows a thing or two about making do. But when he stumbles upon a food stall, his mouth falls open and he just stops to stare and blink a few times as if this is some figment of his imagination. ]

III. Beach

[ Rick forgoes the boardwalk and is right out on the sand near the water line. This is more his speed, not that wandering around the Collective was outright bad. It's just he's gotten used to being outside in fresh air, not in a place with recycled air being pumped around.

But it's also out here that the gravity of his situation back home and the reality of what's going on here (namely that he is apparently unable to return to what he knows) starts to sink in.

Most people who go to beaches are there to have a good time, but Rick is walking up and down the shoreline looking like someone who's lost. To bystanders or other observers, it must seem strange watching him stomp around, but he's not really thinking about that.

Finally when he's had enough of his pointless walking back and forth, he drops into a beach chair and sits there, watching beach-goers just traipsing by like they haven't got a care in the world. ]

IV. Wildcard

[ Want to do something else not already covered? Toss up any scenario and I'll roll with it! ]

You and be both, buddy.

[After getting clothed and learning a little bit more about this place he decided he'd come back to the platform to see if any of his companions came through like Dogmeat, who is sitting patiently by his feet looking between his owner and the stranger.]

Haven't seen an armory yet either. I'm surprised they even let us keep our guns.

[Which he has on him. His sniper rifle is slung over his shoulder while he holds an odd looking gun. His posture is incredibly lax though and he doesn't look as if he intends to use them.]
atanycost: ((033))

[personal profile] atanycost 2016-06-02 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah?

[ Hearing that affirmation didn't really make Rick feel any better, but honestly, he hadn't really expected anything to. ]

At least it's not just me, then, I guess.

[ He eyed the man talking to him, trying to learn anything he could from his first impressions. That wasn't the most accurate way to go, but he figured his instincts had served him relatively well thus far. The sniper rifle was an interesting touch, and Rick made a mental note to ask him about it if the chance came. ]

You're telling me. Anyone would have thought they'd be the first to go.

[ He still had his on him, but what he didn't have was his belt and holster, but he could deal with that. ]

You been here long?
saidsarcastically: (5)

[personal profile] saidsarcastically 2016-06-03 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
[William opted to put on the Moira uniform despite how uncomfortable it made him, but his weapons are worn and rusty looking - still in working condition but definitely looking as if they've seen a lot of action and taken quite a few beatings. William himself has a casual stance and attitude but he's a tired and worn looking guy despite that.

He does take notice himself. This guy definitely looks like a wastelander, but by now he knows not to assume. Still, he asked about the two most important things. People he was with and guns.]

That depends if you think a couple of hours is "long" or not. Definitely not the longest I've been in a place without having any idea what was going on, though.

[personal profile] twelveminutesolder 2016-06-02 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
[ He knows that look of aprehension. Especially when it comes to objects like credit cards--go forth and spend, the captains say. Pietro knows enough about frivulous spending to know he doesn't like it.

There's an older man, not as energetic or as young as most of the people on Moira, as far as he can tell. He's definitely a fellow crew member, though. He can also tell someone who's looking at food like he's never had a proper meal in his life. He and his family were decent, family wise, but that doesn't mean he doesn't recognize it. Poverty in Sokovia is a real, legitimate thing. Hunger, too.

He walks next to the other, a kabob of some kind of meat he can't even identify in his hand. Pietro makes a show of looking him over while he bares his teeth to take a chunk of meat from the wooden skewer, and chew thoughtfully. ]

If you do not trust the card, tell me what you want. I can acquire by other means. [ His accent is thick and heavy--Eastern European. ] I don't trust our Captains and their money.
atanycost: ((011))

[personal profile] atanycost 2016-06-03 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There's a lot going on here that Rick doesn't trust or believe, and the card is one of those things. It might just be money, but he's still maintaining his skeptical stance for now.

He looks up when Pietro approaches, kabob in hand. It's kind of reassuring that he's eating, because it at least lets him know the food is safe. He doesn't appear to be keeling over or anything like that, so Rick's just going to focus on the good parts of the situation in front of him. ]

What other means?

[ He thinks he knows already, having gotten used to things like breaking and entering, looting, and also bargaining. ]

Are those other means how you got that?

[ In case Pietro feels threatened by anything he's just said, he just shrugs in a sort of placating gesture. ]

Just wondering, that's all, because I might want to use some of those other means myself.
twelveminutesolder: (05)

[personal profile] twelveminutesolder 2016-06-03 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Money is never free. [ A confirmation that he dislikes the entire situation and, if that winning smirk is anything to go by, he's not at all offended or threatened at the other.

His accent is strange, that's for sure--but Pietro can get the gist of it. Probably from the South, though he hasn't heard 'y'all' yet. ]

I'm offering. What do you want, hnn?

It's hard to choose, right?

[There's a woman's cheerful voice at his side. For Karen, this all happened at just the right time. She bites at her nail thoughtfully, eyes dancing from one picture on the front of the stall to the next.]

Do I want something salty, do I want something sweet. [Karen looks over at him and smiles.] You can go ahead of me if you want, at this rate I might be here awhile.

Yeah, just a little.

[ He looks over at her, the momentary tension he felt dissolving because she looked harmless enough. Of course, harmless appearance wasn't everything. He'd learned that a time or two over the years. ]

It's kind of- overwhelming, I guess, when you haven't had a whole lot to choose from. Not like this.

[ He shakes his head. ]

Who says we have to choose? [Karen holds up her card.] Certainly not the captains. Why don't we just try everything?

[ With so many people off-ship right now Sam was using this as a perfect opportunity to have a closer look at the Ingress. He was using his phone to get pictures of it, some even close up. Sam spent a long time sleeping in random places around the Moira, but he wasn't able to really examine the Ingress before.

Which is, of course, when Rick walks up to him. Sam looks at the gun like it's a live snake, then looks around for somebody else. Because this? This is so not his job. He's bad at people. He also doesn't like guns very much, which is why Sam is always armed, but never uses a gun.

It doesn't look like there's anybody else to help, though. So Sam takes in a big breath, and lets it out with a sigh. He looks at the gun then back. ]

Most of the people here were somewhere else. Most of them were with people. I don't know how to get back, I wish I did. The amory isn't for locking up guns though. If you want bullets you'll have to find or make them yourself, I guess? I'm not the guy to ask about that.

You're not in Kansas anymore Dorothy. I'm Sam. Let's start with your name.
atanycost: ((034))

[personal profile] atanycost 2016-06-03 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There's a lot of things that are telling about a person, and that includes the way they react in the presence of guns. It's not a sticking point for Rick, nor something he uses to judge people. It's just something that's informative in its own right.

Sam's expression isn't lost on Rick, but he's not overly bothered by it either. ]

I figured as much. Ships and things like this aren't normal, at least not for me. I'd guess there's others here who aren't all that used to it either.

[ It's not entirely reassuring, but he'll take what he can get. At least he's not sticking out like a sore thumb, not really. ]

Thanks for that. The part about bullets, I mean.

[ He sticks out his hand then, smiling just a bit at the quip about Kansas. ]

I'm Rick.

[ Sam didn't mind giving a handshake, or a smile. Those were easy. Figuring out what he was supposed to do next with Rick was hard.

Was there mention he's bad at this? Because he is. After a moment he really does start staring at Rick like a bump on a log. ]

[ She's not looking for other people from her world. There's not a single soul she knows who she'd want here with her on the Moira - and frankly, that's just fine by her. Instead, her empathy and bleeding heart has her looking for people who need an extra hand, like she had needed, and there are plenty that look shell-shocked enough that she goes to help...at least for a time. Her demeanor, at least on first glance, is awkward; she's there to assist but not entirely to converse, like she's afraid of getting too close to anyone she isn't familiar with.

But Rick comes to her, intentionally or not, and she turns to him when he begins to speak. ]

I'm...not sure if we do a census check for people from the same worlds or...planets or whatever, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were people here you may know. It's a common trend. Whether they arrived with you, I can't say.

[ He looks roughened and a little on edge, and she imagines she looked much the same when she arrived. Ava blanches a little when he mentions the gun. ]

First piece of advice - don't announce that to people. It's...probably not going to make people feel comfortable with you immediately. [ Her, though? She's not afraid. ] There is an armory and someone who works there. I'm not sure if she has bullets in stock or if she'll need to make you some.
atanycost: ((06))

[personal profile] atanycost 2016-06-04 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
[ If the circumstances were different, he wouldn't be looking for them either. But considering that as far as he knows, he's just left a situation in which one or all of his people could potentially die, of course he's going to be looking for them. But he also knows enough about people and complications to realize that not everyone's going to feel the same. ]

I'd hope there were, because what I remember happening last wasn't good.

[ That's an understatement, of course, but he's not too keen on talking about Negan at this exact moment. ]

I need to look around and see if I can find them or not. The least I could do is stop them from wandering around thinking they're the only ones here.

[ Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on his part. He could be the only one here, but he's not ready to admit that. ]

Sorry.

[ Her advice brings Rick up a bit short, and he looks at her almost apologetically. ]

Where I'm from, making people comfortable isn't something you worry about.
bloodbinds: (pic#9451462)

[personal profile] bloodbinds 2016-06-04 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you okay?

[ Because if his friends weren't in a good place, she would think he had been in the same trouble. Being disheveled can mean a lot of things, sure, but it can also mean he's injured - or his friends are. ]

We have an infirmary if you need it. I can show you where it is. If your friends were injured, they could be there, too.

[ Now she really wishes they had some kind of census to go off of. It's possible the medbay head had everyone's file...but probably not for anyone new.

Ava gives Rick an empathetic look, complete with a tight frown and a brief lowering of her eyes so she doesn't quite meet his gaze. Then, she sighs, pulls herself back up a little bit, and continues, though her tone has softened quite a bit. ]

It isn't you. It's... We're having some interpersonal problems here on the Moira, to be blunt. You'll hear about it eventually, I'm sure, but it's something that has people on edge. You're not the first person to have a gun or ask about bullets. I was in the same position.

[ That's as honest as she feels she can be in the moment. ]

I'd look into the armory. I'm sure they'll have something for you. But I'd keep it close...in case someone thinks you're going to use it. Everyone should be able to defend themselves.

Dad, what are we doing? What's the plan? [Because he doubts its to shop like everyone else seems to be.]

[personal profile] atanycost 2016-06-04 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
[ Having Carl around is both good and bad. It's good because it keeps him from getting too lost in his own head. It's bad because he feels like he has to worry about him and has to keep a close eye on him, because there is no way he's going to let anything bad happen to his son. ]

The plan's to look around, see what there is to see, and if we can't get something useful from this place.

[ It's not to just shop. Rick honestly has no idea how to really do that, but if he and Carl can get some useful supplies out of this place, then at least they won't have wasted their time. ]

[personal profile] carltoaction 2016-06-04 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[A better plan than that would be nice, of course, but he was just wanting to hear something that made sense as a plan and he got it. So now, with some idea of what they were doing, he turns his head, looking around at places more closely, the shops and all. If they are looking for useful things, after all, he's aware they pretty have to start all over again. They need food, weapons, clothing and more.]

Okay. Useful things... [He thinks aloud, and eventually his eye stops on place. Well, two side by side places actually. One of them being a clothes store and the other some place that couldn't seem to decide between tourist trap and mini-mart. His dominant hand raises to point between them.]

What about there? Those two places? Those have to give us an idea what they got here.

[From the way this guy is walking around, Boone gets the feeling he must be new, too. He's not the only one wandering with a lost look on his face, after all. He doesn't approach him at first, just letting him pass by. But then he walks past him in the opposite direction. And then back up the way he came again. Eventually, when Rick flops into a nearby chair, Boone finally gets to his feet and walks over, Rex at his heels.]

Looks good, doesn't it?

[ Bones ambles up beside the man, lips tilted into a slight but nonetheless friendly smile. It hadn't escaped his notice how the stranger was staring at the food, like he hasn't seen anything this fresh, and or in such abundance in a long time. It's one of the reasons why he decided to approach. That, and the smells that wafting from the grill were just too tantalizing to pass up.

He glances from Rick over to the stall's vendor, handing the card the captains gave them and ordering a few of the kabobs. ]

You jus' come down from the ship?

Yeah. Looks good. Looks better than anything I've seen in a long time.

[ Canned food is okay and everything, but nothing beats the fresh stuff. Rick's almost forgotten what it tastes like. He turns to look at Bones, eyeing him carefully before deciding he looks friendly enough. Then he spares him a smile of his own, even if it is an abridged sort of one. ]

Yeah. I thought I'd take a look around. I'm starting to think it was a good thing I did.

Arrival

[ Clean and relatively healthy, yes. But it's only her momentary— dispirited response to finding herself back here that prevents the obvious difference between Medusa and an ordinary human woman from being evident. As soon as he speaks, and she turns, that heavy red curtain of hair lifts of its own accord, curling in waves as her attention focuses. ]

Everyone arrives here alone. [ It's just a little frosty, and that has nothing to do with him. Medusa feels like screaming to be back on this ship again. ] The people you are looking for may not be here, or they may not be the people you know.
