"I want the world to be fragile. There is no place to hide a dark heart."
☄ Step 1: Negotiate & Infiltrate With this part of the plan enacted, a small number of those who have volunteered to attempt negotiations have been heard by the Caducans and have been temporarily “invited” to board their vessel. However, due to this highly stressful situation, a portion of the offensive team have been asked to accompany them in order to disable as much of the opposing ship and its crew to force them to evacuate onto the Moira. Regardless of time and what reparations are offered, negotiations ultimately fail. The Caducans want the debt of their planet to be paid by the people of the Moira with their very lives. While boarded with the Caducans, they will attempt to incapacitate the negotiation party through violent means, and it will be the responsibility of this particular team to attempt disengage the Caducans’ ship to prevent it from attacking the Moira. However, despite all efforts to sabotage their systems, the ship itself shuts its primary units into Lockdown Mode. Meanwhile, back on the Moira, the crew must work to secure the ship against the incoming assault by the Caducans after having left their ship via emergency escape units. This means that some of the defense team will have disabled the gunnery to make it look as if the Moira is defenseless and secure the rest of the area with those on the offense team. There is no place for mercy; the Caducans will board the ship through the Cargo Bay. They are not interested in granting it to the crew after all the losses they suffered at Caducus Primary. The only choice will be to fight for their lives (kill or be killed) or find a way to lure the Caducans into the Ingress room to send them to some unknown place where they will no longer be a threat. The Captains have given all members of the crew leave to use whatever means necessary to protect both themselves and the ship’s systems from the invaders. Failure is not an option. |

[He keeps his hand out for her, in case she finds it any comfort at all.]
It will be okay, Elsa.

[ That's it. That's the only effect her powers, out of control as they are, have on him. That's a difficult thing to process, it's not a situation she's ever found herself in or expected to find herself in, but... it's... it's really comforting.
Elsa continues to regard him with wide eyes, uncertainty still clear across her face, but after a few moments, she seems to visibly relax a small bit. It will be okay. A pause, a brisk nod, and she draws in a long breath, then slowly exhales it, trying to draw in some calm. ]
--I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I didn't mean t-- I just...I've never been in a battle before. I've never had to fight for my life and the lives of others, and now with the glass, I...
[ She trails off, lets out a shaking breath, and folds her arms in front of herself, pulling them in close as though hugging herself. ]
I don't know what to do. So many people are hurt, and so many are dead...

[He'll place his hand on her shoulder somewhat firmly, making sure it wasn't scalding hot. Some frost condenses on the fingers, but his arm is far too warm for the ice to travel up, and it doesn't seem to be able to harm his metal hand.]
The only thing to do is either round up the dead as part of cleanup, or excuse yourself. You aren't expected to be able to handle corpses. I don't believe there were many - if any - casualties on our side.
[Not that he knows of, at least.]
If you want to help, keeping the bodies frozen will keep them from rotting and will make moving them much easier. If not, I can lead you somewhere that is cleaned up. Is any of your body glass at the moment?

Taking another long breath, trying to regulate her breathing back to something more normal and less erratic, Elsa nods. Not many casualties on their side... That's good to hear, even if he isn't certain about the numbers. That helps. ]
No-- No, I don't think so.
[ She hasn't noticed any glass, at least. ]
I think... somewhere clean might be best. I don't think that I can handle... [ ...Cleaning up corpses. Not right now. Not while she's already in a state of little to no control. ] But I don't want to freeze more of the ship. There are enough problems already, I don't want to add more than I already have.

[He'll place his hand on her back and gently moving her, guiding her along. His eyes scan ahead to make sure they aren't about to walk right into a former battlefield.]
Deep breaths. One step at a time. I'm here to make sure nothing goes wrong.

She follows Genos' advice instead, attention going to her breathing instead as she forces herself to take deep, calming breaths. ]
Thank you.
[ The words are quiet, and she doesn't even turn her head to look at him, rather keeps her gaze on the floor. ]
No one's been able to help me like this before.

[ That comes as a surprise, enough of one to draw her gaze back in Genos' direction. He's seemed nothing but calm and collected every time she's spoken with him, it's hard to imagine him having a panic attack. ]
Yes-- Yes, I know all of that... It's just that when I have a panic attack, it's... It's dangerous for others.
[ And that makes it harder to calm down, and makes letting it pass by less of an idea choice. ]

[He's calm and collected now as well, but a bit sad and wistful in expression.]
I had night terrors for years after my family's murder. The feeling of powerlessness... it's very familiar. However, grasping control of your strength and seizing power will ease those fears.
