"I want the world to be fragile. There is no place to hide a dark heart."
☄ Step 1: Negotiate & Infiltrate With this part of the plan enacted, a small number of those who have volunteered to attempt negotiations have been heard by the Caducans and have been temporarily “invited” to board their vessel. However, due to this highly stressful situation, a portion of the offensive team have been asked to accompany them in order to disable as much of the opposing ship and its crew to force them to evacuate onto the Moira. Regardless of time and what reparations are offered, negotiations ultimately fail. The Caducans want the debt of their planet to be paid by the people of the Moira with their very lives. While boarded with the Caducans, they will attempt to incapacitate the negotiation party through violent means, and it will be the responsibility of this particular team to attempt disengage the Caducans’ ship to prevent it from attacking the Moira. However, despite all efforts to sabotage their systems, the ship itself shuts its primary units into Lockdown Mode. Meanwhile, back on the Moira, the crew must work to secure the ship against the incoming assault by the Caducans after having left their ship via emergency escape units. This means that some of the defense team will have disabled the gunnery to make it look as if the Moira is defenseless and secure the rest of the area with those on the offense team. There is no place for mercy; the Caducans will board the ship through the Cargo Bay. They are not interested in granting it to the crew after all the losses they suffered at Caducus Primary. The only choice will be to fight for their lives (kill or be killed) or find a way to lure the Caducans into the Ingress room to send them to some unknown place where they will no longer be a threat. The Captains have given all members of the crew leave to use whatever means necessary to protect both themselves and the ship’s systems from the invaders. Failure is not an option. |

[She rushes out her response, switching hands to press against her face. The smell of blood makes her wrinkle of her nose, and be much more clipped and curt than she normally might be.]
Kylo Ren. He came here with me, and we've been separated.
[She drops her hand away from her face, so she can wipe both of them against a nearby wall to try and get the blood off as best as she can.]
I need to make sure he's alright.
no subject
That he's--
[He can't even comprehend that for a lot of reasons. Number One being that he's seen his son pull his punches-- and been thrown across the room in the process. Number Two is that he's not used to the idea of Kylo Ren cooperating enough to go anywhere with anyone. Number Three, she's worried about him being all right, not worrying about what he might have done?
This bears further investigation, sometime when bloodthirsty aliens are not attempting to slaughter the lot of them.]
Have you seen--
[That gets cut off when one of the Caducans rounds the corner and rushes them. Without missing a beat, Han fires over her shoulder. Upside of being tall.]
no subject
You haven't answered me yet.
[But they can't stay here though, so she gives him a nudge to signal that he really should start moving forward so she can follow along after him. They can't just stand around and talk. Moving and talking is a better choice.]
Have you seen him or not?
no subject
[That makes sense in his head, and he's not paying enough attention to think that it's not at all obvious to her that he's looking for the same person.
He doesn't bother holstering his blaster, not when there's still so much chaos, the sound of fighting echoing through the corridors.]
Which way?
no subject
[She says it so bluntly and so filled with annoyance that she almost feels bad, but the pain in her face takes away from any guilt she has at snapping.]
I'll let you pick the way, if you don't mind. Lead, and I'll follow.
[Typically, she wouldn't dare follow someone she doesn't even know, but this is one of those desperate times sort of situations.]
I can't stay with you too long anyway, I've got to go find my friend.
no subject
[Look, just... if he sounds a little incredulous, it's because he's a little incredulous. It's probably the first time he's heard of anyone having such positive interactions with the man.]
This way looks good.
[He shrugs. Good is a relative term: on an enemy ship, every way looks pretty bad, actually.]
no subject
[She huffs as she pushes blood soaked hair out of her eyes, glaring a little over at him. He sounds like Leia, being all skeptical that Kylo is able to do anything remotely civil.]
You think he's unhinged too, don't you?
[She accuses him as she follows along after him, keeping as close as possible.]
no subject
Are we talking about the same guy?
[He puts a hand out to stop her as they approach a corner, leaning around it slowly to see if there's anything unpleasant waiting for them.]
Who are you?
[other than a bleeding girl with questionable taste in friends...]
no subject
[Frowning, she wipes at her face with her arm, hissing in pain. She's more than a little annoyed that he's questioning why she's friends with someone that he doesn't even really seem to know that well or care about.]
And just because you think he's awful doesn't mean that I'm obligated to. I asked him to come here with me, and it's my responsibility to make sure he makes it back safely.
no subject
[He doesn't know if this is really the right moment to be picky, but he feels like he ought to command some authority, and pulling meaningless rank is a little easier to explain than the fatherhood thing. But that aside, he listens to the rest of what she's got to say, and it's...
It's a strange thought, okay. It's not that he thinks Kylo is-- no. Scratch that, he does. Kylo Ren is awful, or at least, has been awful to him. But that's only half the story-- Han knows that, but unfortunately it's the only half he's actually gotten. Still. It's not as easy for him to navigate as it seems to be for Leia, but Han does give a damn. It means something to him that Clara cares about Kylo, about making sure he's all right.
But she's wrong, he thinks, about being her responsibility.]
You're hurt, you don't know where he is, and you're not armed. [Okay, he's guessing on the last one.] He doesn't need you to make sure he's safe, you should find a transport back to the Moira.
no subject
[She wants to argue about needing transport, and about getting the hell out of here, but she finds that there's really not any logical argument against leaving besides making sure that Kylo gets out. She knows he's more than capable of fighting off everyone on this ship, but she still doesn't want to leave him behind.]
So a first name to go before the Solo would be nice.
[She doesn't protest about his assertion of her being unarmed, or say that he shouldn't lead the way to transport. She just gestures for him to lead the way while smiling sweetly through the blood and the hand over her face.]
no subject
Han,
[he answers, a little distractedly. You can't trust a woman who won't argue with you, can you?
But she's still letting him take the lead, so he ducks down another corridor-- one which, with any luck, will take them back toward the docked transporters, if they're still here.]
no subject
No.
[Using her hold on him, she gives a gentle tug to guide him off to the side, in the direction she wants him to go. So much for not being bossy and letting him take the lead.]
Go this way. It's faster.
[And just to prove it to him, she bounds around from behind him to lead the way.]
no subject
Like son, like father.]
Good, [he grumbles, chasing after-- picking up his pace a bit but mostly trusting he'll catch up by virtue of being long-legged.] Just get back, however you can.
no subject
[what is it with the men on this ship and their inability to keep from ditching her?]
You could at least be decent enough to stick with me until after I find a way out.
no subject
Because I've gotta go find your friend.
no subject
[She turns about, holding a finger out at him.]
He's my friend, I'm the one that cares, you don't even like him. You're not actually going to look.
no subject
[Yeah no. He shakes his head to dismiss the end of that thought.]
It doesn't matter how I feel, I'm not leaving without him.
no subject
You find him, and tell him he better come find me once he's back.
no subject
(He steadfastly refuses to consider the simplest answer: that maybe Solos are just inherently drawn to bossy women.)]
Fine, sure, just go.
