"I want the world to be fragile. There is no place to hide a dark heart."
☄ Step 1: Negotiate & Infiltrate With this part of the plan enacted, a small number of those who have volunteered to attempt negotiations have been heard by the Caducans and have been temporarily “invited” to board their vessel. However, due to this highly stressful situation, a portion of the offensive team have been asked to accompany them in order to disable as much of the opposing ship and its crew to force them to evacuate onto the Moira. Regardless of time and what reparations are offered, negotiations ultimately fail. The Caducans want the debt of their planet to be paid by the people of the Moira with their very lives. While boarded with the Caducans, they will attempt to incapacitate the negotiation party through violent means, and it will be the responsibility of this particular team to attempt disengage the Caducans’ ship to prevent it from attacking the Moira. However, despite all efforts to sabotage their systems, the ship itself shuts its primary units into Lockdown Mode. Meanwhile, back on the Moira, the crew must work to secure the ship against the incoming assault by the Caducans after having left their ship via emergency escape units. This means that some of the defense team will have disabled the gunnery to make it look as if the Moira is defenseless and secure the rest of the area with those on the offense team. There is no place for mercy; the Caducans will board the ship through the Cargo Bay. They are not interested in granting it to the crew after all the losses they suffered at Caducus Primary. The only choice will be to fight for their lives (kill or be killed) or find a way to lure the Caducans into the Ingress room to send them to some unknown place where they will no longer be a threat. The Captains have given all members of the crew leave to use whatever means necessary to protect both themselves and the ship’s systems from the invaders. Failure is not an option. |

[But then Dorian is rightfully distracted by his own unfortunate situation, so he doesn't. Instead, he focuses on consoling him.]
Don't worry, they'll find a way to protect it. Alright.
They've got a good medical team here. [He puts that unusual hand on Dorian's shoulder.] Didn't mean to worry you.
no subject
But as such, Dorian was rather worried about his jaw shattering in this state and shelved his curiosity for the time being.]
Until they find a way to protect my fragile jaw and other fragile bits I should probably hire body guards. Oh wait. [He's almost certain that he doesn't have the coin for it and on top of that the currency of Thedas probably wouldn't translate...especially given their recent splurge on vacation world.] I suppose favors are more valuable than money, yes?
[Ah, well, Dorian wasn't entirely comforted, but the weight of Kazuhira's hand on his shoulder was, something at least and he reached up, giving him a consoled pat on that fascinating hand.] You ought to reward me, that should make up for the worry you've caused.
[Though judging by his typical sassy demeanor and the ever present smirk on his face suggested that he didn't really blame Kazuhira for anything.]
no subject
Money isn't worth much here. But for helping me out, give me a call on your MID if you're in trouble. If you can't show up, I know plenty of capable people who can.
[It's the smallest debt to repay, either way.]
no subject
Oh? I should caution you that indulging my whims too frequently will only leave me a spoiled attention hound. [As if he wasn't already, but it doesn't stop him from lifting Kazuhira's unusual hand from his shoulder and pressing a kiss to it in much the same manner as when he'd met the man.] You are too kind.
[Or indulgent, but Dorian rather liked that.]
no subject
[But he ends up hinting a smile at the gesture, impressed that the other man is holding onto that carefree attitude with enviable stamina. Or at least the facade of it. He has a very real concern in this glass.]
Don't worry about it. [What's one good offer of protection without another in return.]
Other than the glass, did anything happen to you?
no subject
[You didn't get the title dog lord by simply liking dogs after all.
As for his infallible good nature about everything? Well, what could he do about it really? Sit around and mope? It wasn't his style, not that he wouldn't whine a bit and he was certainly afraid for his face.
And then there were his hands which he held up looking very pitiable.]
My magic backfired. [Said in his most sincere feel-sorry-for-me voice] That doesn't happen, it's never happened. It's disconcerting.
no subject
[But he's gone now, too. So he supposes he'll have to share it secondhand.]
It backfired? How does it...
[He remembers Sans in the training room, and his brow furrows up as he contemplates.]
no subject
Oh? Well I suppose it has something to do with being so far away from Thedas and the Fade. Spell casting is more effortful and somewhat unpredictable.
no subject
And my friend... usually smells better than that. Unless I've had him out in the field for several days. [Again, fond. Despite having some sensibilities that either Snake could easily trample on. In their own unique, remarkable, incredibly frustrating way.]
When the training room is up and running again, you should practice, see if we can make sure your magic is working mostly as it should. Or just get you used to the place.
no subject
I would have to do so under supervision, I'm not certain what rogue magic would do to this training room. I never thought I would have to worry about busting out in demons, but that's magic. You're not careful, demons. It's the reason I loathe blood magic as I do. [It might be a good idea to get Hawke in the training room with him.]
no subject
I think the most perplexing part of this conversation is that I'm actually considering whether or not there would be someone able to manage demons. How about I arrange for you to learn some weapons that aren't magical in nature. Not that it's not useful, but if those are the extremes maybe we can lessen the instances in which you're forced to use it. [Summoning demons is a pretty serious side-effect.]
And if you have someone that might help you control it, I'd be happy to make sure they had a place.
[Then he huffs a breath.] I tell you what. How about I find you some decent food since apparently our kitchen is currently a loss.
no subject
Ah...hah...well as long as I am not rounded up into a cage or have the Rite of Tranquility performed on me, I will give it a try. I'm aware that we are working together and with what has happened so far...with people being unable to control their abilities at a given time. Minimizing the risks makes sense. [But he is first and foremost a mage, sometimes he can't control his magic. He's set curtains on fire, in certain instances that one need not speak of.]
Well, the only person who can relate to me is Hawke, but I think we are having similar problems.
[There really is no one, especially given that Dorian is a pro within his field of expertise.
But when Kazuhira mentions food, it does go a long way to brighten Dorian's demeanor.] Food always helps.
