"I want the world to be fragile. There is no place to hide a dark heart."
☄ Step 1: Negotiate & Infiltrate With this part of the plan enacted, a small number of those who have volunteered to attempt negotiations have been heard by the Caducans and have been temporarily “invited” to board their vessel. However, due to this highly stressful situation, a portion of the offensive team have been asked to accompany them in order to disable as much of the opposing ship and its crew to force them to evacuate onto the Moira. Regardless of time and what reparations are offered, negotiations ultimately fail. The Caducans want the debt of their planet to be paid by the people of the Moira with their very lives. While boarded with the Caducans, they will attempt to incapacitate the negotiation party through violent means, and it will be the responsibility of this particular team to attempt disengage the Caducans’ ship to prevent it from attacking the Moira. However, despite all efforts to sabotage their systems, the ship itself shuts its primary units into Lockdown Mode. Meanwhile, back on the Moira, the crew must work to secure the ship against the incoming assault by the Caducans after having left their ship via emergency escape units. This means that some of the defense team will have disabled the gunnery to make it look as if the Moira is defenseless and secure the rest of the area with those on the offense team. There is no place for mercy; the Caducans will board the ship through the Cargo Bay. They are not interested in granting it to the crew after all the losses they suffered at Caducus Primary. The only choice will be to fight for their lives (kill or be killed) or find a way to lure the Caducans into the Ingress room to send them to some unknown place where they will no longer be a threat. The Captains have given all members of the crew leave to use whatever means necessary to protect both themselves and the ship’s systems from the invaders. Failure is not an option. |

[ He pulls himself to his feet - wincing in the process, because he's probably been there for several hours by now - and commits himself to scrutinizing Ghostaton until any of this makes sense. ]
I mean, sleeplessness aside, this is my first time. Be gentle.
no subject
However, he's trying to keep his identity on the down-low, because as he said himself...he was pink and bland.]
Of all the strange things we see on this ship, I'm the weirdest? Sweetheart, you must be joking! Either way, I'm afraid I can't be anything more than I am at the moment, so you'll have to adjust yourself to the sight of me!
[As he speaks, Mettaton drifts closer, circling Tony and the mess he's surrounded in. He tuts at the spilled tools.]
...Do you always work like this? It's rather messy.
no subject
[ He might ordinarily make a joke about giant sentient robots or talking skeletons, but he's seen firsthand how many of the robots are in shambles and the skeleton is dead, so. Yeah, no. Not today.
To his credit, he doesn't pull away as Mettaton drifts closer. A month has trained him well, and no offense, pal, but you're the exact opposite of intimidating right now. Doesn't mean he's not staring warily, though. ]
This? This is the height of organization. I know where everything is. [ A pause. ] Uh, most of the time.
no subject
[Mettaton mutters the last part, then distracts himself by reaching down with his nubby "hands" and picking up a displaced wrench, moving it into the start of a slightly more organized pile. Look. He's helping!]
Do you now? Well, I'm afraid I don't believe it. Nice try though.
[He gives a half-smile. Maybe his sassitude isn't off the charts today, but he can't really be rid of it all. It's not his way. ]
What are you working on anyway, Mr. Stark? Just curious if you've found any scrap worth using lately after what's, ah. Gone on.
no subject
Alright, hang on. Are you telling me ghosts are omnipresent, too? Because I'm pretty sure we haven't gotten to the introductions and niceties part of this conversation yet.
[ Mettaton: not doing great at going undercover. ]
no subject
...That is a lie, he looks appropriately perturbed that he'd let that slip.]
Well, I'm not omnipresent, but I--that is to say! I'm a ghost who likes people-watching and it's especially easy to people-watch when others can't see you!! It's hard not to remember such an interesting personality as yourself!
[Believable? You be the judge, Tony.]
no subject
[ You're in luck, man. That's a perfectly plausible cover story when supplied to a guy who gets followed by paparazzi every day of his life. ]
no subject
[He's not disagreeing. He'd rather be labeled a stalker than a bold-faced liar with identity issues for the moment. Forgive him for sounding excited that you gave him an out, Tony.]
Anyway, if you don't mind too terribly answering my question...I was still wondering what you were working on.

[ Tony shifts so Mettaton can see around him, to the pile of armor on the floor. It's still mostly assembled, save for the detached gauntlets and helmet. The whole thing looks like it went a few rounds with bullets, heavy artillery, plasma canons, magic, and probably at least one flamethrower. ]
It's had a rough day. I'm giving it the spa treatment.
...this icon is actually appropriate again oops
And this was a hot bod, okay? He almost wants to possess it, but it isn't his to possess, and then he could be stuck in it. Something he doubts Tony would appreciate.]
It no doubt deserves such treatment!! Goodness, look at all the detail! And look at how sturdy it is to damage!! That is, it looks the worse for wear, but I'm assuming that you wore it, and you don't look too bad off!!
[Mettaton is very excited. He's never seen this suit before, and if he had during the whole invasion thing, he couldn't remember. Not at all.]
This is pretty complex...how long did it take you to build?!
[Maybe he sounds a little hopeful.]
no subject
Complicated question. Non-complicated answer: this one? I dunno, a month? It's sort of a perpetual work in progress, and are small pink ghosts always so interested in this kind of thing? I mean, not that I blame you, since it's pretty incredible and all, but my question stands.
no subject
[Color him impressed. Holy shit dude, do you sleep ever? Humans need that, don't they?
He hesitates to answer Tony's question at first. Not just because he glided into it like it wasn't anything important. But...hmmm. Well. Mettaton can at least be honest about this, right?]
A ghost's deepest aspiration is to become corporeal. We will eventually choose something to possess in order to achieve this goal, and some of us are more selective than most! After all, corporeality...is permanent. So my curiosity stems out of that interest.
no subject
[ He points a tool at Mettaton and waggles is threateningly. ]
Don't get any ideas about turning this one into your paranormal snail shell. It's thoroughly spoken for and in a happy, monogamous, committed relationship. With me.
no subject
Besides, it would just be gentle handling, not cheating!
[Mettaton wasn't going to go there before this point. He really wasn't. But he couldn't help it, the suit looked great, and honestly? Teasing Tony seemed to put him into a better mood.
Also Tony got points for bringing up snails.]
