"I want the world to be fragile. There is no place to hide a dark heart."
☄ Step 1: Negotiate & Infiltrate With this part of the plan enacted, a small number of those who have volunteered to attempt negotiations have been heard by the Caducans and have been temporarily “invited” to board their vessel. However, due to this highly stressful situation, a portion of the offensive team have been asked to accompany them in order to disable as much of the opposing ship and its crew to force them to evacuate onto the Moira. Regardless of time and what reparations are offered, negotiations ultimately fail. The Caducans want the debt of their planet to be paid by the people of the Moira with their very lives. While boarded with the Caducans, they will attempt to incapacitate the negotiation party through violent means, and it will be the responsibility of this particular team to attempt disengage the Caducans’ ship to prevent it from attacking the Moira. However, despite all efforts to sabotage their systems, the ship itself shuts its primary units into Lockdown Mode. Meanwhile, back on the Moira, the crew must work to secure the ship against the incoming assault by the Caducans after having left their ship via emergency escape units. This means that some of the defense team will have disabled the gunnery to make it look as if the Moira is defenseless and secure the rest of the area with those on the offense team. There is no place for mercy; the Caducans will board the ship through the Cargo Bay. They are not interested in granting it to the crew after all the losses they suffered at Caducus Primary. The only choice will be to fight for their lives (kill or be killed) or find a way to lure the Caducans into the Ingress room to send them to some unknown place where they will no longer be a threat. The Captains have given all members of the crew leave to use whatever means necessary to protect both themselves and the ship’s systems from the invaders. Failure is not an option. |

[ Imagine how nice that would be. God.
At any rate, he stoops so that he can haul Genos off the ground, mindful of the components that have changed to glass, lest they crack or shatter. The hydraulics groan with the added weight, but the suit seems to handle it fine besides that, so off they go to engineering. ]

Thank you. I am sorry for acting suspicious.
[He still is, a bit, but the situation required him to set it aside.]
no subject
He flips the faceplate up when he's addressed and waves off the apology, which probably looks a little odd when he's still head-to-toe in a suit of armor. ]
Forget it, kid. Generally speaking, suspicious is a smart state to be in.
[ He also wastes no time plugging the thumbdrive Genos gave him into one of the computers. ]
no subject
Did any parts of your body turn to glass?
no subject
Nothing I can't fix. [ He offers it as a belated, absentminded aside, while he begins laying out an assortment of tools; the arc reactor going glass on him is something he is dutifully not committing any attention to just now. ] Convenient that way.

[With that, he'll trigger his body's repair mode, his whole torso unfolding and opening up. There's an intimidating crackling sound as the hinges crack glass and glass shards as they move, but fortunately no large chunks seem to break away. Inside of Genos is a fucking mess, a lot of the weight-bearing structures that functioned as a spine now shattered glass, and the coiling 'guts' that were the bound power cables connecting Genos' limbs to his core were now solid glass beneath the rubber casing.]
If you assist in repairing my arms, I can begin working on myself.
no subject
Yikes. That's not pretty.
[ He plucks a flashlight out of his assortment of tools, and arms his other hand with several others, starting with the right arm. ]
I'm gonna assume you'll be able to tell when mobility is restored, even with your pain center taking a nap.
no subject
[So morbid, so doom and gloom - though the next comment might elicit a laugh.]
However, I've always found complicated technology frustrating.
no subject
I hate to break this to you, Terminator, but you are complicated technology.
[ His hands are moving with surprising confidence and deftness, setting aside tools and picking up others without even looking at them. He glances up to cross-reference with the information on the computer now and again, but for the most part, he's absorbed in repairing what he can. It probably isn't too terribly long before some of the functionality begins to return. ]
no subject
The weapons systems do whirr momentarily when they're online, and Genos' fingers roll and clench into a fist, turning them back off.]
Well done. Your hands are much steadier than Dr. Kuseno's. You would make a good lab assistant for him.
no subject
Tony leans back from where he'd been crouched working, pointing an irate alan wrench in Genos' direction. ]
Lemme be real clear here, pal: I'm nobody's assistant anything.
no subject
He even responds to Tony's irate gesture with complete indifference, starting to work on his repairs. For supposedly hating complicated technology, he at least is able to do maintenance on himself.]
My power cords may all have to be replaced, I believe they're solid glass. Did you find replacements?
no subject
It's an engineering department. We've got spare cables coming out of our ears down here.
[ What kind of engineering department doesn't have boxes full of miscellaneous tangled cables floating around? ]
You're gonna have to sit pretty while I splice something suitable together, though.
