march mod plot log
When: March 3rd to March 31st
Where: Thisavrou + New Worlds
Warnings:
thisavrou monthly info ( the tmi )
⋆ The storm around Thisavrou is rather quiet this month. Although there is still an upsurge in the number of Outpost techs called in, many of them have been put on standby until otherwise needed. Weather on Kauto is a moderate 70°F / 21°C during the day and 65°F / 18 °C at night, and Chioni’s has reached dangerous highs of 200°F / 93°C at peak hours.
⋆ Savrii Notices:
Region One grocery depots are offering sixty percent off of any item purchased between day 70 and 82. Region Three’s residents are doing a pruning ( every sixty days or so ) and all excess is available to be taken; if you need it for mulch, lumber, etc. it’s free to anyone.
⋆ Mission notices have been posted to TABs for anyone interested in earning a little extra cash. Available missions are listed below:
Day 65 (March 6th) - The locals of Region One (R1) are looking for extra help with cleaning and are hiring pairs to run each machine. They’ll pay 50 sencs an hour or 300 sencs for a full day. Day 68 ( March 10th) - A group of newcomers have taken shelter in Region Five as their home world is no longer habitable. All of their belongings have been brought through the Ingress and is stacked up outside the EN-Line in R1. Savrii are paying volunteers 70 sencs an hour to help transport everything to their new homes. This species returns kindness with kindness, and will offer any volunteer who goes the extra mile tips ranging from 100 to 200 sencs. Day 75 (March 16th) - With temperatures on Chioni reaching record highs, some scientists and researchers have been stranded due to EN-Line shutdowns. Those in the Ingress Complex are offering 950 sencs to anyone who is willing to withstand the heat and rescue their fellow colleagues. Any equipment needed for the trip will be provided, but due to the greater increase of temperature, some suits may only cool a body inside for a total of four hours before needing replaced. Plan the trip wisely: most EN-Line access has been completely revoked and travel by foot (or vehicle) is necessary. Day 87 (March 28th) - Scientific Study. Do you smoke? Are you addicted to any substance? A scientist researching methods to combat addictions, of all kinds, is looking for volunteers. He’ll ask a series of questions, take samples, record, study, analyze, and apply new procedures over the course of a day (nothing invasive without permission). Compensation is 800 sencs with complete cooperation.
ingress travel info
⋆ Missions are jobs or specific tasks listed on the TAB once new worlds are open for exploration. Be sure to check if Clearance Levels are required to accept some of these missions.
⋆Clearance Levels are given to visitors for the length of time they have been on Thisavrou (or traveling on the Moira). Each CL offers access to certain things or incentives that others will not have.
deslora
⋆Food, perhaps, might be one draw to Deslora, but it is not, so to speak, the main attraction. After piling through the tunnels, it’s like being inside a massive tent. There is no natural lighting, everything illuminated by bulbs or torches placed strategically across the path that leads to an equally smaller tent. Dangling above the doorway is a sign that reads Laugh Your Way to A Smile with reflectors and pieces of glass hanging from its bottom. Entering the tent will reveal a very small but intricately designed room full of twists and turns and mirrors. The strange thing about them comes with looking at your own reflection; passing by will do nothing. If you linger too long, you find your own physical body beginning to take the shape of what is reflected in the mirror. Sometimes, you are stretched thin and tall. Sometimes, you are short and round. And other times, you will find yourself suddenly wavy and curved from head to toe. These changes do not hurt the first few times they happen, but after the third look at your reflection, some alterations may cause pain in your limbs or torso. It increases each time you look at a mirror, and while the effects will fade after a few minutes, it’s best not to linger too long and find your way out through the otherside.
⋆Located several tunnels down - or up, depending on the direction you go - from the Deslora’s ever-popular funhouse is another equally famous attraction. At the top of the steps, a worker waits to pair up individuals into groups of two before ushering them inside the first set of doors. The foyer is quiet, and after the doors behind you have been shut, two single doors ahead of you and your partner begin to illuminate. There is a sign between the doors: Pick A Path . Once through the chosen door, it will lock and the door will slowly fade away. It will quickly become evident that what is in this room is specifically targeted at one out of the two people inside. A happy memory, a beloved hobby, the person you love most - the scenario is always different, but the overall feel is the same. Whatever the room has transformed into, it’s what makes that person the happiest. If it’s a person, they can be spoken to and touched, if it’s an object, it can be used. As the interactions between both characters and the room increase, subtle changes will begin to occur. Slowly, the contents of the room begin to morph into something new. The combination of what one person loves the most and what the other hates the most. The only resolution to be had is to confront the issues and find something in the room to help. For one past patron, the room transformed into thousands of paintings that morphed into painted memories of their partner’s most painful memories. The only way out was a can of varnish tucked back into the corner of the room. Be creative, be careful. Find the way out together.

Angel | Borderlands | OTA
[After receiving her funds for the previous month, Angel found herself gazing speculatively at her thin wardrobe. She’d treated herself to a blue sundress not long after arriving, but other than that, she had only her issued uniform and the jumpsuit she wore back home. Much as she wanted to burn all memories she associated with her time in the Control Core, the jumpsuit was surprising comfortable, and it wasn’t as if she could be discerning with her wardrobe.]
[Until now.]
[It was, perhaps, a bad idea to shop when her weight was likely in flux. It was also true that she couldn’t wait until she found herself in a more stable position to shop.]
[Loose clothes it would have to be then.]
[Briefly, Angel considered asking Gaige if she might want to join her on her shopping mission, but the Mechromancer… didn’t exactly seem to be the shopping type then. Krieg and Zer0 were likewise out, though more by their gender than anything else. Rhys was a viable option, but his clothes were probably too expensive for her tastes. Not to mention tailor made.]
[Her options were… relatively slim, when it came down to it. One option in particular came to mind, and as she headed out to board the EN-Line, she sent a text message to the girl.]
Laura,
This is Angel, if you remember me. I don’t know if this is the sort of thing that appeals to you, but I am going shopping in Region 1 if you would like to join me. I would very much enjoy your company.
Best,
Angel ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭*
Kauto - Day 68 :
[Though there was still a weakness in Angel’s limbs, it seemed to not be enough to curb her need to help others. The second the job advertisement flickered onto her TAB, she made her way to region five. Most of her time therein was spent running about, back and forth, carrying small armloads and helping older individuals across streets.]
[She’s a girl scout, disney princess at heart.]
Deslora - General
[Wandering about on her own likely wasn’t wise, but it also wasn’t anything she hadn’t done before, either. The more logical part of her brain pointed out that she usually ambled about Kauto, where her various caretakers lived and could get to her in a matter of minutes.]
[She knew implicitly that the winding tunnels would slow their approach by an exact number of minutes that she didn’t really need to think about to know. That, coupled with whatever amount of time it might take them to get themselves through the Ingress meant that if anything were to happen to her out here, she would be on her own.]
[Not that anything seemed liable to happen. At least, not anything outside of an upset stomach -- something that seemed to be all but guaranteed here on Deslora. Everywhere she looked, there seemed to be foods that she’d only read about awaiting her.]
[She’d been allotted a healthy stipend the previous month, and as such had plenty to spend without even needing to begin to worry about taking care of herself. As such, she spent a good few hours picking at various treats. Nothing was ever fully consumed (for fear of truly making herself sick), but there was certainly a lot of variety at the table she’d nabbed for herself.]
Deslora - Mirrors
[It wasn’t all fun and games for the young siren though. Eventually she found herself wandering once more, finding herself caught in the hall of mirrors. At first, she paid them no mind, other than the briefest of glances. They were silly, made her smile, but otherwise she thought nothing of it.]
[Until one otherwise innocuous mirror caught her eye. She paused before it, staring at a reflection that, in a perfect world, would have been normal. Her mirror-self stared back, cheeks plump where Angel knew they should have been shallow. There was no purple ring in her eyes, nor any bruising below them. Those blue eyes, practically sparkling back at her, were curtained by a full, thick head of black hair, a sharp contrast to Angel’s own brittle and uneve locks. Though still skinny, it was out of fitness, rather than starvation -- no bones showing or anything else.]
[She couldn’t help but smile, and with the smile came tears that didn’t show in her reflection. While the siren wept for what she didn’t have, the image stared back, happy with its blessings.]
[The longer Angel stared though, the more she became aware of a faint tickling on her scalp. She lifted her hands, fingers brushing where there should have been bald scalp. The pads of her fingers instead met soft, silky hair that seemed to grow even as she stroked it.]
[After what felt like a century, the girl finally pulled herself away from the mirror. There was an ache in her cheeks, but she attributed it only to her beaming smile. She made it a handful of steps before feeling a troubling chill against the side of her head. Once more her hand lifted, only this time she felt her bare scalp once more.]
[She all but sprinted back to the mirror.]

Asriel Dreemurr | ota
[It was the first time in a long while that Asriel had ventured off from the safety of his new home on Kauto. Despite telling himself that it'd be okay, that he could just go back home if he didn't like it here, he still felt so unsure of himself. Maybe it was better to stay? He could just live on Kauto forever and there'd be no problems, right?
... Well, maybe not. Chara and Frisk were still inclined to explore. He... really didn't want to seem like a complete coward, regardless of his reasons.
What he finds on Deslora though surprises him. Bright colors, tubes, the scent of pizza in the air. A buried childlike fascination and excitement rises to the surface, and Asriel feels the urge to explore. And his searching leads him to a sign and a room full of mirrors, each one warping his appearance in new and funny ways.
At first he's amused - some mirrors make him look taller, some make his arms stretch or make him way too short. At some point, he stops at a mirror and does a double take at what he sees reflected in it.
Himself. Completely normal. But yellow flowers are growing from his eyes.
He's not sure how long he's stared at this particular reflection, enough to feel a disgusting chill pass through his fur. But he feels something sting in eyes - mild at first, and then the pain gradually increases into something more unbearable. His vision goes dark and something - something doesn't feel right with his eyes-]
Augh - aughh!!!
[He grasps at his face, rubbing his eyes and feeling flower petals instead.]
[Pick a Path.]
[Two doors.
Asriel is a little wary about picking out which one to go through. Neither door looks like a better option than the other, and who knows where they lead to. He gives an uncertain look to whoever is standing beside him.]
Which door do you think we should choose? They both look the same.

Adam Parrish | OTA | will match formats
[ The decision to come to Deslora had been a spur of the moment one mostly. Adam had asked Ronan what he thought and expressed interest and then they'd come together. There isn't a need to spend every second together and Adam had wandered off from his boyfriend -- though the latter is probably never far. He's walks idly through the space and taking in all the food that's available.
Eventually, he's standing with his arms crossed as he ponders the selection. He has plenty of money but he's not used to spending frivolously so he's attempting to decide what he wants most because he refuses to buy one of practically everything. ]

Shiro | OTA
a. LION HOUSE | early March (1st-3rd somewhere in there)
[He's outside for a while, looking up at it. Feeling like he should have been ready to be back a long time ago. Like he never should have stepped out at all. Like... he's already tired of leaving.]
[So. Up the path. In the door. Time to make some changes.]
Anyone home?
b. EVERYWHERE ELSE
[In between runs of rescue missions and suspicious cargo hauling, it's a time to learn to be mundane again. Browse around the Districts of Kauto. He's not hard to miss, so even if you're not grocery shopping, or chugging coffee in the fanciest shop you can find, he can probably be witnessed running laps in a park.]
[Or at a shop, picking up a shirt that reads, in bold, sparkling letters, ~SPACE HO~.]
ii. CHIONI RESCUE | OTA
[If the Paladin armor can survive in space, in a vacuum, in the most extreme conditions, surely it's going to be all right to run and pick up some scientists.]
[There's the added benefit of being part of a freelance shuttle company. You pick your jobs, and you're good to go. This would be, admittedly, easier in a giant robotic lion, but oh well.]
[Scientists and residents of Chioni, your literal rescue in shining armor has arrived!]
Hop in! I'll keep the engine going!
iii. DESLORA | Pick A Path | OTA
[Relax, they said. Take a break, they said. It'll be fine.]
[Maybe they shouldn't have insisted he do this right before Crazy Carnival Planet showed up. Because he's somehow managed to get hopelessly lost in these tunnels, and the smell of carnival food is making him vaguely ill.]
[So taking a break in a relatively quiet space in front of an innocuous door is a great plan, right? Not like anyone could just walk up and disrupt the peace, right?]
iv. JURASSIC PARK THEME {flying cargo} | OTA
Is it cliche if I say I have a bad feeling about this?
[Because he does. A very bad feeling. Crates of amber? A possibility for transporting creatures, later on? This is really a job for a cargo pilot, but hey, when you're basically renting out a ship to fly freelance, you do what you can.]
[He's leaning against the side of his ship for this run, armored as usual when flying these days, watching as the crates are loaded up. Maybe he's talking to a copilot for this mission, or a passerby.]
I feel like I've seen this in a movie.

steve rogers | ota and closed prompts
[there doesn't seem to be a shortage of work, which is a good thing. whether or not it's work that steve can actually do-
there's no such thing. he can do it all. he's grabbing suitcases and boxes, trying to keep whatever he has tucked under his arm from falling. breaking something seems like a quick way of kissing his tip goodbye.
he finally gets a chance to catch his breath, rubbing at the soreness in his arms and sitting down on some steps. steve doesn't get much of a break before he's hauling himself right back up again.]
Let me help with that.
[those muscles and shoulders that he supposedly gets in the future would come in handy right about now. ]
Deslora:
[the colors aren't quite as bright for him, but the food is just as good. steve worked up an appetite, and now he has a little money to spare. he's holding two hot dogs in one hand, some cotton candy and a plate of pizza in the other, which he holds out to the first person that he comes across.]
Hey, do you want this? I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach, and I don't want it going to waste.
Pick a Path: (closed to Lea)
[steve was mostly just trying to see what the attraction was, but he's paired up and ushered through before he knows it. inside the first set of doors is quiet enough, but something about that smiley face...]
You wanna choose? [he smiles hesitantly at lea.] We could flip a coin, but I don't have one on me.
Pick a Path: (closed to Bucky)
[he knows what happens beyond those doors now, which is why his eyes go wide when he spots bucky at the front of the line. steve can't let him go in there, not alone and definitely not with someone else.]
Buck! [he calls out to him, jumping up and down a couple of times in hopes of being seen.] Bucky, wait! Sorry, excuse me, sorry.
[steve knows that it's rude to cut line, but this calls for it.]

archer | ota
[ It looks a lot like a haunted house, Archer thinks as she steps inside. She's never been one to go for intentional scares, but how often do you get the chance to go to some pan-dimensional circus thingy of horrors? Not that often, she assumes. Who knows, they might come back in a few months or something, whatever. Still, she decides to go for it, because why not, right?
Beyond the door is a room, but it's not a room. It's a plaza. A main square in a city she knows well. It's not quite a city, either, more like it's own state. She knows exactly where she is because everything's slightly tinted in light blue, which is easily explained by looking up. Water, water everywhere, surrounding the city/state/country of sorts. It wouldn't be the Water Temple otherwise.
The plaza is empty, but the noises of everyday life reach her and whoever stepped in with her anyway. It's a familiar, relaxing sound. Taking a step forward, Archer remembers she's not alone before turning around. ]
I actually lived here for a little while. Want a tour?
[ She knows this isn't the actual place, but she'll take what she can. ]
R6 - arena
[ Stone seating for an underwater area? No problem. Earth isn't her strong suit (none of the main elements is) but Archer is skilled enough to slowly erect large, sturdy stone walls to create the enclosure, as well as mold them according to the plans. It's good training for her anyway, with the added benefit of actually making money for a change. Not that Archer cares for money, but maybe it'll be easier to pay for stuff, specially when people don't want to trade.
She should probably use that money on clothes, to begin with.
It is a pretty demanding job though, so Archer can be found working her magic (not actual magic), doing the work of a small crew by herself, without tools. She's not trying to show off, but it's certainly something a sight to behold. She's also sweating buckets, so breaks are common. ]

Nathan Drake | OTA
[Okay. This is weird.
When Nate heard that they'd get to visit other worlds for odd jobs, he'd perked up, more than ready to go exploring. Roofies aside, the jungle full of alien flora had been the best part of party planet, and he's ready for more minus the getting drugged part. But this place just looks...circus-y, and he has to wonder: is the whole planet like this?
Nate's a big guy, but he's nimble enough to clamber through the tubes and offer a hand to whoever's behind him, helping them get out.]
There you go. Good thing we're not claustrophobic, right?
[His unease grows as he sees more of Deslora, and he's glad he came with a pistol, even if he doesn't want to use it. Nate spends a few hours looking around, glad to greet and walk around with anyone he might bump into because it means he's not alone. He exits the mirror room as quickly as he can, because sheesh.]
[Deslora - Pick a Path]
[From the outside, this seems like a mistake. The path to the room is more than a little foreboding, but curiosity and the fact that Nate's lost his bearings a little means he walks inside anyway. Once he's there, though, he's surprised—it's not so bad after all. Huh.]
(ooc - nate's happy thing isn't really applicable here, so toss a starter for your character's targeted happiness and i'll roll with it!)
[Kauto - A Random Bar]
[It's been a long day of tunnels and weirdness and clown-hunting and Nate really, really needs a drink. Alien beer? Bring it on. All the better if there's a familiar face at the bar for him to join.]

lúcio / ota
[carnivals... how fun! lúcio has only been to one or two in his life; never really having the money or time to visit them. he's always had a deep appreciation for the general jovial air they bring. he spends a long time exploring - starting off with a huge cone of alien cotton candy. it's a fun time and lúcio buys a load of tat and takes a load of pictures, enjoying being a tourist.
eventually, he makes his way to the hall of mirrors - or rather, laugh your way to a smile. kind of a weird name, but lúcio has decided he wants to see as much as he can. he slips in, wandering around and whistling a bright little tune, watching his reflection warp and change.
aaaand then the fun stops, and he starts feeling weird. lúcio decides this isn't for him - maybe it's designed for aliens? - and starts to look for an exit. unfortunately, he gets distracted looking into a mirror that reflects him wearing his skates, despite... the fact he doesn't have them on.]
What in the-- [he's cut off suddenly when the mirror's reflection starts feeling real. like the skates are on and they're crushing his legs. lúcio yelps, then lets himself fall onto the ground, trying to get the weight off his feet. eventually, it gets to the point where it feels like his bones are cracking and he draws his knees up to his chest. it's a lot, and he yells in pain before straightening out and hyperventilating, trying to get himself back to normal.]

[Varric had seen... a lot of weird shit in his lifetime, enough to stop really being surprised when he came across more. Weird mirrors were not an exception to this, thanks to a certain Dalish elf. He'd seen a number of people making eyes at mirrors and seen the changes sprouting up as a result. It was up there on the weird-meter, but it still didn't top it out.]
[As a result of his observations, he was doing his best not to stare at the mirrors too long. He'd succeeded in that for the most part, at least until he turned a corner and found himself face to face with a long, skinny mirror. He couldn't help himself then -- the image was so bizarrely out of character that he simply had to laugh for a moment. He looked like Merrill might have, if this was the type of evil mirror she'd messed with. Every bit of him, from limbs to torso, was long and skinny. Aside from the time he'd stood on a hill beside The Iron Bull, it was the tallest he'd ever been.]
[Amusement vented, Varric turned, and quickly found that he was used to having "normal" sized limbs. He stumbled once, and the crashed to the floor, gangly arms thrown out in a failed attempt to keep himself from eating dirt.]
Andraste's tits.
Deslora, Pick a Path - Closed to
[After their squabble and reunion back at the Midway Hub, and following the meeting at the diner, there'd been little substantial interaction between Anders and Varric. Yes, the dwarf had sent a number of text messages to the blond, inquiring as to whether or not he was alive, to which Anders responded with anywhere between "Yes," to "Leave me alone" and occasionally spamming his TAB with a grotesque amount of cat photos.]
[It was likely a miracle that they'd bumped into one another, and another one still that they'd been paired up and sent into the odd room. What awaited, Varric didn't know -- but he felt a strange needling of fear in his gut.]
Well. At least we have Bianca?
Chioni Rescue Mission
[This was more like it.]
[Being assigned a mission to rescue someone was under the few things that Varric defined as 'normal.' The heat resistant suits and the pacdisc filled with spares for both himself and whoever he might find out there were new, as was the more technologically savvy crossbow. The latter had been a bit of a struggle to swallow on his part, but Bianca was bound to burst into flames in the extreme heat.]
[Much as he hated betraying his beloved, he wasn't about to put her at risk, either.]
[Now out on his feet though, it was easy to ignore what he didn't have and focus on what he did. A timer had been set on his TAB, to notify him of when he'd need to duck in somewhere safe and change his suit out. In the meanwhile, he'd enjoy the feeling of running across an open landscape.]
[Ignoring the whole hellfire theme, it was almost like being back in the Hinterlands.]
Kauto - Closed to
[Of all the things he'd expected from his companions, living on a farm was at the bottom of the list. Sure, the human had come from a similar background, and the elf never seemed out of place in a large manor, but considering everything they'd been through, calm farm life was... strange.]
[Then again, he could understand the appeal. It was nice to be out of the way of the bullshit, which was probably the reason why he was so blighted eager to get there. And farms were far less likely to be taken over by Qunari or a warring group of mages and Templars.]
[Still, knowing both men, he was surprised to find their home wasn't at least slightly on fire. A Hawke without chaos seemed at least a little out of character. But then, who knew what the inside held?]
[That though filled Varric with both excitement and trepidation. He hesitated a moment at the door, before finally rapping his knuckles against it a handful of times.]
Kauto - General
[Pick a tavern, any tavern. No matter where you wind up, you'll probably find a dwarf sitting there, poking at people for information. Careful, you might be next.]

keith | ota
[ It's been over a week now, but Keith hasn't really settled. Not that he's ever settled anywhere, but the Castle had become something like a home to him before he'd found himself in this place. The Lion House is nice, but he finds himself missing the strange barely-audible hums and the weird lighting and — well, okay, not the food goo.
Anyway. Keeping his feet on the actual ground is strange and unfamiliar, and Keith finds himself exploring the districts of Kauto more often than not, sometimes even in the small hours of the night when no one else should be awake. It's good to know your surroundings; gives you an advantage if things go wrong. Which is about the most emo possible reason for lurking suspiciously outside of pastry shops and boutiques, but there you go. ]
b. chioni, rescue mission
[ Keith really, really misses the Red Lion right about now. But that aside, the thrilling rescue thing is great, and running through boiling hot alien planetscapes basically feels like he's right back where he's supposed to be. Even the part where an alien scientist about half his size is clinging to his waist like he's some kind of action movie hero while he treks back to the rescue shuttle. ]
No, you're fine, but— I kinda need my leg?
[ Help. ]
c. deslora, shenanigans
[ Look, he's not going because it sounds fun. But if the scientists all say it's going to help them get home faster, Keith guesses he can pop down to the... carnival planet, apparently? Is that what's going on here? Space is really, really weird. Possibly even weirder than it is enormous, which is very.
Clambering awkwardly through rainbow tunnels makes him extra paranoid quickly, and anyone who runs into him in the cramped tubes will find themselves face-to-face with a glaring teenage boy who likes his personal space. Spotting him at a food booth, though, is a different story: he's staring, wide-eyed, like he hasn't seen anything as beautiful as space corndogs in a long, long time. ]
d. r6, security duty
[ It was either this or signing up for cargo pilot work. Keith likes to live dangerously, and security work sounded more interesting than anything else that was offered. Plus he figures he probably needs money at some point?
Which is how he ends up in full Paladin armor, escorting a shipment of suspiciously large crates, several of which are definitely growling. Everything in him wants to find something to poke into one of the dark airholes just to see what happens. Not that he would. But in between standing around and looking intimidating, he can, every now and then, be seen peering into the hole like someone who's already seriously weighed the merits of sticking his finger in there. ]

Lea | Kingdom Hearts | OTA
[Some Like it Hot | CHIONI RESCUE, DAY 75]
Lea isn't not a nice guy, but he's not usually one to stick his neck out for people he doesn't know, trust, or like already. However, when he hears of the people trapped on Chioni in 200° weather, he is strangely compelled to lend a hand. Maybe it's just that he knows help for those people is likely to be few and far between--most people wouldn't be able to handle those sorts of temperatures, but he's worked with fire for over a decade, so if anyone can stand being roasted for a good cause, he guesses he's the ideal candidate. Leaving his Black Coat behind, he ponytails his hair and accepts one of the weird spacesuits that is supposed to keep him from being char-broiled while he works. It isn't very fashionable, but he hopes it's at least not scary... he's supposed to be rescuing people, and he can't really do that if they're running away in terror.
"Uh... hello?" He isn't really sure where to begin--the whole team just kind of fanned out when they got here, but he's not even entirely certain who (or what) he's looking for. "Anybody need rescuing in this vicinity?"
Why is being a good guy so difficult?
[Deslora]
After the somewhat nauseating trip through the hamster tubes, the last thing on Lea's mind is food... until he passes a stand selling pizza. Sure, there are a couple of places he's come across that have sold something that passes for pizza, but this? This is the real deal. Suddenly, all of the queasiness from his ride is forgotten, and he's seated at a table with two huge floppy slices of pepperoni pie in front of him. If he's gotta be stuck in space, then he's certainly not going to pass up the opportunity for a little nostalgia trip. Maybe he can bring some of this back with him, for that matter. Cold pizza can be just as good as hot, fresh pizza, after all.
There's room at the table, if you care to join him and discuss the merits of junk food.

Lea can be found pretty much anywhere at any given time, save day 75 when he's already preoccupied. Got something in mind? Hit me up!

Zer0 | Borderlands | OTA
[[OOC NOTE yolo: this mission calls for pairs to operate the cleaning machines so if you were looking at this mission and being all "MMM THAT SOME GOOD SHIT BUT I NEED A PARTNER!!!" well buddy Zer0 is free game, get all up in this if u wanna]]
[Street cleaning was pretty much at the bottom of Zer0's list of preferred jobs, but making 300 sencs in one go was pretty nice. Frankly, if he wasn't living with other people he wouldn't have even considered it, but it was probably a good, easy fall back just in case he didn't manage to find much by way of more exciting work for the month. There was bound to be something to shoot at later, he was willing to sink a day into a shitty job, no problem.
Well I lied, there was one problem. It was mind numblingly boring. Thankfully, whoever he'd paired up with for the job was spared any complaining, but they weren't spared from Zer0 somehow managing to wedge the street cleaner in between a building and a surprisingly sturdy light pole.
On it's side.
The good news is there were probably no injuries. The bad news is, the street cleaner is wedged on it's side between a building and a surprisingly sturdy light pole. As for Zer0, he's standing near it with his arms crossed and his head tilted in that "I'm really confused but also somewhat impressed with myself" sort of way.
This is how Vault Hunters clean streets.]
DAY 75: Potentially burning to death is more fun than cleaning anyway OTA
[Well okay maybe a rescue mission still wasn't the most exciting job, but at least there was a certain degree of danger involved. And. Y'know, helping people. That was important. Zer0 could get behind that.
Being (perhaps overly) confident in his ability to survive extreme temperatures, he'd opted not to wear the suit he'd been given just yet. He'd kept it in case of emergency, of course, but trying to wear it over his sneaking suit would probably restrict movement and whatever. This job called for getting in and out quickly, and he didn't want anything slowing him down.
This can't possibly end badly right]

Nihlus Kryik | Mass Effect | OTA
93 degrees celsius was a hot day on Palaven. But not the hottest. Not by far.
Which isn’t to say the experience was particularly pleasant.
The first hurdle to overcome was the issue of transporting the trapped scientists and researchers around safely in the soaring temperatures. None of them were listed as heat or radiation tolerant species.
The EN-Line trams on Chioni were up to the task, but the lines themselves were overheated and blacked out. Renting in a space shuttle with the proper insulation was one option, but re-entry was dodgy with the atmospheric temperatures this high.
The solution was towing one of the trams down to the stations with the stranded people with a truck equipped to handle the heat. Bring them safely back to a working line.
Which worked just fine for the first few hours until the truck’s systems decided to give in halfway to one of the stops. It’s been thirty minutes into diagnostics and Nihlus feels vaguely like he’d been turned into a sentient walking steam box. Stretched out around was a vast, blazing hot wasteland far as the eyes can see.
The soaring temperatures aren’t going to kill Nihlus, but you might wanna come over and help him out before your suit overheats.
2. Cool Down - OTA
There’s a little balcony at the edges of R1’s central station, overlooking the city. It’s quiet, out of the way of the main foot traffic and mainly frequented by the nearby university’s students looking for a peaceful spot to study or complete their assignments.
Today, there’s a slightly overheated Turian leaning against the steel guardrail, wisps of steam still curling off of the curve of his dark, tattooed carapace and water canteen in his bright pink bionic hand. He’d stripped of his hardsuit some time ago and his thermals were unzipped all the way down to his waist, excess fabric draping over his thighs.
Public indecency laws probably weren’t really a thing in Savrou due to differences in cultures and species, but if they were, Nihlus would probably be skirting the edge of it.
Frankly, he couldn’t care less at the moment. It’s been thirty minutes after he’d landed back on Kauto and once all the rescuees had been properly accounted for, he’d ducked out to cool down a bit. Paperwork will be sorted out later.
You wanna approach the steaming hot, alien bird man?

[For the most part, this month, Reinhardt is trying to distract himself. He's working with security and protection. Or helping people cart their heavier groceries along. Working -- heck, he'll even be chopping wood. Offering to work farms.]

[Erik still hasn't left the house much, despite the fact that he's been here for weeks now, but he has decided that it's finally time to try and figure out a little more about this place where he's found himself. Since it doesn't look like he'll be leaving anytime soon. Unfortunately.
How he got here, specifically, to this overgrown funhouse from the house where he lives is a mystery to him. He hadn't been paying attention to exactly where his feet took him, rather just sort of following the crowd, and now here he is.
It's the smell of food that brings him out of his reverie. Not just any food -- much of it familiar food, although it's been years since he's smelled these particular smells. (Carnivals in Poland are bit different.)
The smell of food finally entices him and he sets off in search of some.
Nina would have loved this place.]
Deslora - Pick a Path
[Once his appetite for foods that will only kill him faster has been sated, he sets off wandering again. Once he starts to get past the stalls of food to some of the other attractions, there seems to be a macabre undertone to what's available here. Or, in a few cases, more than just an undertone.
He finds himself, without meaning to, in the line for an attraction that looks like it would be better suited to an abandoned house than to this place. Why not? He might as well give it a try.
He gets shuttled through a door without paying attention to who else is in the room beyond the fact that someone is. He comes to a stop a few steps inside the door when he sees what's in the room. There's a table laid out with food (although only he knows how lucky they were to have that much of it at that particular time), and a menorah, and a family of three -- two parents and one boy -- seated around the table.
Instantly, nothing else matters, not even the fact that there's another person in here with him, seeing this scene too.]

Sideswipe | OTA
[Not really having a job to settle into gives your friendly neighborhood giant robot a lot of free time. Sure, Shepard was offering, but he still needed to figure out whether or not he wanted to take her up on it. Because it sounded like being a cop.]
[And he doesn't know how he feels about cops anymore.]
[So for the most part, he'll be tearing through the streets in his alt-mode. A bright, cherry-red sportscar covered in Japanese Kanji (all of which read "fast") speeding through the streets, and occasionally up on buildings.]
[If someone's in his way, he'll just transform. And vault over them.]
[Whoops.]
ii. Deslora | Pick A Path | ota
[How the giant robot fit into this room is anyone's guess. But there he is, hunkered down next to...]
[Next to a giant green robot, even bigger and bulkier than he is. With both of them laughing, and shoving each other playfully. Across the room are a yellow robot, talking calmly with one armored in blue and white. The atmosphere is calm, easy. Like this is someone's downtime you've just stepped into. There's even a bearded human, chasing around what looks like an orange segway.]
[Sideswipe doesn't even protest when the big green one throws a massive arm around him, squeezing. In fact, he just beams.]
Easy, Grim! Don't scratch the goods!

[Hit me with anything!]
riptide / ota (note: he's in his holoform for both prompts :|b)
[honestly, it's only now that riptide has figured that he could experience human stuff... while in his holoform. he'd only used it before as a convenient means.]
What is this? I've never been to one of these!
[he's running around like he's on speed. after a while, he might grab you as you innocently walk past, holding a giant cone of candyfloss.]
Look at this! What the hell is this?! Humans are so weird!
b. pick your path
This looks like fun!
[riptide is standing at the entrace to the attraction, holoform smiling happily.]
What do you think it'll show?
[unfortunately, riptide doesn't think it'll show bad memories... of which he has plenty.]
Marian Hawke | Dragon Age | OTA
[Why did it have to be nauseating? Hawke is so sick of nauseating travel. And this place smells. Horrible. She's currently leaning against the wall, blinking, and holding her nose at all the smells.]
Yes, let's take a nauseating trip to the horrible smelling, needlessly colorful place. I've always wanted to go there. Check it off the bucket list. First one to puke loses.
[Deslora - Mirrors]
Oh, mirrors. Who doesn't love a good dramatic stare into a mirror to reflect our inner sorrows and anguish.
[Hawke comments to herself and anyone who is listening. She looks in the various mirrors. Some depict her as short, others as even taller than she is, one even depicts her as ridiculously well endowed and curvy. She snorts and shakes her head.]
Just looking at this makes my tits ache. Though, once you see a male version of yourself walking about and talking to your friends. This-[she taps her finger against the mirror and winces as she swears she feels that poke.] loses some of that creepy factor.
Also my hair is much nicer looking than that.
[Deslora-Pick a path (Happy)]
So how ominous do you think that sign was?
[Whomever Hawke's partner is, she heads down the path with them, curious to see what is at the center of this maze. Though she is starting to think she might regret this at all and should have just stuck next to the foul smelling pink stuff on a stick booth.
She opens the door and steps into the outskirts of a green forest. It's lush, green, and the sun is warm like a summer's day. In the distance, in a small clearing, is a little house. Nearer to Hawke, on the left is a little outcropping beneath a small drop off, the entrance is covered in vines. Inside, there's a small collection of sticks and child's toys made out of wood.
She knows this place. It's her home outside of Lothering. Suddenly, two dark hard children approach her, a boy and a girl of the same age, no older than eight years. They look like Hawke. And Hawke looks like them.
"Sister," the girl reaches for Hawke's hand. "You were supposed to hide. We can't play if you don't hide."
The boy nods, "Try again. We'll even give you extra time to hide, okay?"
Hawke, completely stricken by the scene in front of her, nods and without thinking reaches out to take the girl's hand.]
"Right, sorry. I seem to have forgotten how to hide. Silly me."
[Deslora- Pick a Path (Hate)]
[The situation starts similar to above except this time when Hawke opens the door, she comes face to face with herself. The other her does nothing except stare blankly, her face devoid of any emotion. She blinks at the other her a few times and then snorts, shaking her head.]
Oh, is that how it goes? I'm my own worst enemy. The thing I hate most is myself. How deep and existential of me! I was worried I might be boring and hate something like spiders or bad cheese. Though once again, can't seem to get the hair right. Mine has much more texture to it.

Gaige | OTA
How'd I let the other guys talk me into living here...?
[For those living in any of the other regions of Kauto, this must be a wonderful service. It's free resources, plain and simple. And if you happen to not need logs for your fireplace, or mulch for your garden, you can simply not come to Region Three for the duration.]
[For those living here, it's about as annoying as having streetwork done up and down your block, as far as the eye can see.]
I really need to wash some of this sawdust and sap out of my hair. Maybe if I head this way... [But no luck. That rope bridge is where they're collecting a big stockpile of the branches and sending them through a wood chipper.] Oh, come on!
[She takes a seat on a conveniently bench-sized branch, and gives a dramatic sigh.] Okay, maybe if I can find a way out of here, I can hop on the EN-Line and find somewhere else to stay until this is over? Anywhere's gotta be better than here.
2. KAUTO — MAYBE REGION 6 WILL BE BETTER?
[So, as it happens, she found a temp job that also offered temporary housing. Score.]
[And some of it requires an electrician to build some enclosures with high-voltage fencing. Double score.]
You guys ever actually look at these schematics, though? [She doesn't really care if you're working on the enclosures or not. You're around, so she assumes you know a little about it.] Hammond must have some pretty damn huge pets, if they can handle this much voltage without going down.
[And then, setting the schematics down.] Wanna go see if we can sneak a peek at 'em?
3. DESLORA — PICK A PATH, EVERYONE'S DOING IT
[Maybe you know Gaige, maybe you don't. She's not adverse to hanging out with total strangers, perhaps even having an impromptu 15-minute date. Or maybe you just happened to get grouped together because you were close in line. Doesn't really matter.]
[It's her memory that's coming to life, now. It doesn't look like a nice place. It's swampy, with the ground squishing under your feet, and the air filled with the smell of mud and the acidic signature of far-off Eridium mines. In fact, rather than an engineer's fantasy, it looks like a playground for a survivalist...]
Why, if it isn't Gaige! Why don't you and your friend come this way, eh?
[And then a certain gentleman comes jogging up to greet the two of you. He's not real, created by whatever technomagics are powering the rest of this room, but based on the dreamy look in Gaige's eyes, it's doubtful she cares about the difference.]
Ah, but it looks like you didn't come packed for our hunting weekend. Not to worry! You can used one of mine. Just treat her nicely, won't you?
[And you get a sniper rifle. This is pretty awesome! No way this could go wrong and turn into a nightmarish mess, right?]
[So, let's hear how you're going to turn this into a nightmarish mess.]

Allura | OTA
[There isn't anyone else to head to the Ingress looking for. Unless something truly extraordinary happens, her entire "family" is here, on Kauto.]
[But by now, after she's traveled to the Ingress so often, the princess has become so well-acquainted with the route from Region 1 to Region 5 that carrying soemone baggage from one point to the other is both an easy service to others and easy money to bring back to the Lion House. Where it's probably in better hands, since she has such little experience handling money; she's still trying to wrap her head around the value of a Senc.]
[There wasn't much guidance on who or what she should expect on the Region 1 side, though. As she arrives at the EN-Line station, she looks up when she sees you.] Oh! Are you here to help the refugees move in as well? I know where we're bringing the baggage, but as far as what we're bringing...
[Then she sees it, the towering stack. Probably too much to carry by hand. But she has to ask...] ... erm... is there anything to carry all this with? Or are we going to be hauling it all by hand?
[She'll be returning home with a nice stack of sencs for the effort, at least.]
2. KAUTO — THE REGION 1 SHOPPING SPREE
[Now that Allura's been allowed some independence, she's discovered a lot of new things about herself. Like, for example, that she finds shopping an incredible amount of fun. No wonder Coran's hoarded it to himself up until now! It doesn't even need to involve bartering with pirates to be fun.]
[So when she heard that there was going to be a major grocery sale, she was excited. She even volunteered to pick up anything anyone from Lion House needed for the next few weeks. Even Shiro, even Keith. Maybe not Fareeha, since the woman was hard at work on a job contract. But maybe with Hunk's help, they could have something nice ready for her to return home to? Regardless.]
[It seems that many people from the worlds of Thisavrou had the same idea.]
[There was one grocery depot that looked like a field, right after a pack of hungry locusts had passed through it: A carefully-stacked mountain of cans was toppled over, blocking half the entranceway. The produce had been looted of everything fresh and in-season, leaving only things that were misshapen or off-color, unless you wanted to take your chances with cooking a bouquet of flowers. The meat counter had a line comparable to a rock concert, and was being held up by a giant, lobster-like alien which had escaped from seafood. She didn't even reach the bakery before an explosion from the beverages made her decide to try back here later.]
[The kicker was that this was the third depot she had tried.]
At this rate, I won't even be able to pick up a third of this list! Are sales supposed to be like this?
[If you don't encounter her there, you might find her trying her luck at an outdoor market, where some of the farmers of Region 2 were selling their groceries directly. They weren't technically part of the depot sale, but they had lowered their prices to compete. Between that and the fact that the selection was a little more peculiar? There was far, far more food to be found.]
[But the competition is still a little fierce here. Fierce enough that Allura has procured herself a weapon: A long vegetable, like an overgrown leek with teal-blue leaves. She's waving it around to whoever's joined her in the scramble:]
Over there! There's another stand setting up. If you head around the back, near the wall, you should reach them before anyone else notices!
3. DESLORA — THE INCREDIBLE SPACE MOUSE CIRCUS
[It had been the mice who suggested that Allura recover from the shopping adventure by visiting the world of Deslora. They had their own interest in visiting, of course -- dropped carnival treats -- but they also wanted to see the princess have fun.]
[That isn't exactly what happened. The appeal of the mirror house seemed lost in translation, hitting too close to the mark of her own shapeshifting powers. And once she overheard something about corrupted memories in the other attraction, she decided to keep as far away from it as possible. The last thing she needed was something to happen to those dream-like memories she held sacred.]
[So, she's taken up a seat over on a bench, watching the crowds pass by. On a scale of 1 to 10, her fun level is looking like a 3 right about now.]
[Well, the mice won't have that. Even from a distance, you might see them putting on a show for Allura, and the way her eyes light up as one of them performs an impressive backflip across the bench.]
