Frisk | OTA
[Save for the odd hiccup of last month, Frisk's little self-appointed duty has become a very comfortable little tradition. And it's one that they take very seriously! Even if Zam isn't feeling well after...whatever happened yesterday, they've got to do their best and make sure everyone gets taken care of and properly helped.]
[Frisk has settled themself just on the inside of the door to the Ingress, sitting on the floor and working on...some sort of worksheet? There's a lot of facts about snails on there. Any existing crew poking their head in will get a look up and a friendly wave, but newcomers coming through the Ingress earn a bit more of a reaction.]
[Frisk sets their homework aside and springs to their feet, running over with a wide and friendly smile.] Hi, welcome to the Moira! You're not dizzy or nothin', are you?
B: Fun in the sun
[They might still be grounded, but Toriel is a merciful mother and when both of her children pouted and begged and promised to be really really good, she relents and allows both children a few days of fun on the beach. And Frisk is taking full advantage of their temporary freedom--they can be found fishing in tide pools, collecting shells in the sand, or playing out in the surf with a delicious looking innertube.]
[All, of course, within view of their mother. Gotta be on their best behaviour, you know.]
C: Shop 'til you drop
[Once their grounding is finally over, Frisk is off like a rocket to check out the rest of the Collective. The myriad shops and stores are a bit of an overload for a child that is maybe a bit too used to living on the frugal side, but eventually they do find something to focus on.]
[Frisk doesn't recognize a single one of these games, and half the console systems are so loaded down with peripherals that you can hardly tell what the original function was meant to be, but they are having a BLAST testing them out and probably going to buy out half the store if they aren't stopped. Anyone want to stop and play with them?]
D: Wildcard!
( ooc: Have a different idea? Hit me up via PM or over on
A
No, I'm fine now. Thanks for the welcome.

Yu Narukami. It's nice to meet you, Frisk.
(no subject)
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DO THAT. xDDD

B
[Okay, he should probably be introducing himself to his friends again while he's in his holomatter form. But that slips his mind completely in favor of pausing to observe Frisk and the tidepool.]
[Fishing is a foreign concept, sorry little friend.]

[There's a pause, as the eager grin he's wearing gets a bit... embarrassed.]
... what's a crab?

Frowning in confusion behind his visor, he steps over to the doorway and leans inside. It only takes a few seconds to locate the source of the noise--a kid on the floor, working on...something. He watches them in silence for just a moment, his utter confusion as to why a kid would be working in here getting the better of him. ]
What are you doing in here?
[ For what it's worth, it's not as demanding as it could be. Since it is a kid, he dials it back a bit, but there's definitely disapproval in his tone. ]
This isn't the place to be doing your homework.

I'm jus' doin' it while I wait for people to come in! I'm helpin' Zam today 'cuz they're not feelin' good.

[ He hasn't met them, but the name is vaguely familiar. Most likely, he's seen or heard about them over the network at some point. Wash's brow furrows slightly, trying to figure out what that has to do with a kid sitting around the Ingress, but then he remembers--it's one of the jobs around here. ]
First Impressions? [ A beat. ] And they asked you to cover for them?
[ It's a bit critical because he doubts new arrivals will want to be shown around by a child, but at least he hasn't tried actually kicking Frisk out yet? ]

[The familiar voice comes from behind them, a few feet back from one of the test games. Alphys is still dressed in a bathing suit, but she's got a wispy cover-up on over it. It hangs off her chubby frame like a pillow case.
Adjusting her glasses once she has the human's attention, she draws closer, grinning.]
I-It's c-cool to see you here! I didn't know you liked games. [but as soon as she says it, she stops.] .....W-Well, I guess you did want to play one with me when we f-first ran into each other on this ship. Ha, ha.
no subject
"A' course I do! Who doesn't like games?" They laugh with good nature and scoot over a little to let Alphys get at the second controller--this one happens to be a racing simulator, and Frisk is already setting up a new match for them both. "C'mon, join in!"
no subject
Even as she asks, she accepts the controller and passively watches the human pick a course. Racing games aren't really her thing - they're too stressful. And they never really grab her attention, at least not in the same way Mew Mew Kissy Cutie did. They could use some emotionally complex characters.
"How do I play?" she asks, looking down at the controller. "Which button is the acceleration? This one? The thumb, right?"

It's fascinating.
Even though he's still peeved about not being able to buy weapons.
He runs into Frisk in a game shop as he's glancing around at the complicated consoles. He gives them a friendly nod.]
You getting this stuff for the room?
[Because hell yes Liquid wants games.]

B. Tidepool
Ratchet crouches near the edge of a tide pool, watching Frisk quietly for a long moment without interrupting their hunt. ]
Find anything good?
no subject
[Frisk looks up and grins at Ratchet, beckoning him over. The pool itself is wide, but shallow, and the water only comes up to Frisk's knees.]
C'mere! You ever touched a starfish b'fore?
no subject
Uh, no. I don't think I have. [He hasn't moved any closer.] What is it?
(no subject)
A.
Five-minute break?
no subject
Yeah! I think I gotta little time right now!

b!
Coming to a pause next to a kid bobbing in an inter tube, Jacky watched them for a moment before speaking up.] You alright? You're a bit far from shore.
[Truth told, Jacky's a little nervous. She's seen people swim in the pool, but she still can't shake the fact that in her time, it's a pretty rare thing to be able to swim.]

Naw, I'm okay! I can still see Mom on th' beach. [...well, given Toriel is a 6+ foot fuzzy goat monster it's a bit hard to MISS her, even this far out...]

A.
[Wow, you're cheerful. And small.
And he was kind of busy blowing up a disco bar just a microsecond ago, so this is a lot of new input.]
Greetings! [When in doubt, smile.]
I do not experience vertigo, no.
...Identify.
[Program?]

Huh? Um, My name's Frisk. [Normally they'd stop there, but they remember a bit of what the Grid is like. And there's little doubt with Clu's outfit where he's from.] I help out with gettin' people took care of when th' Ingress grabs 'em. Um, we dunno why it's takin' us all, but we're tryin' t' get everyone home!
[Was that enough? They think it should be...]
