"Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.

Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and offered a contract to sign that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

Having left Amissis-Re behind, tensions among crew members have continued to escalate into ship-wide consequences, and recognizing the need for some separation among those aboard the Moira, the Captains make the unanimous decision to deviate from their present course to a "nearby" planet that is notable for such popular distractions. While it is not a permanent solution, measures are being taken to monitor the crew's morale much more closely. New arrivals will be treated as they always are; yet, now, more than ever, it is important to stress the balance of working together toward their goal of reaching their destination so that everyone will return home.

WELCOME TO COLLECTIVES ASH3 - BF3 - CLF5

The Collective is a paradise resort located far from any other neighboring planets to offer the most leisurely experience possible to its patrons. Artificially created for multiple uses, it is divided into separate locales interconnected with a tubing transport system that is so fast and efficient that it’s like being teleported to the next area. Extensive mapping can be found at various intersecting points to offer some direction, and there are even recognizable adverts from a very familiar stop months before spread out across the Collective. Whether looking to explore or to simply shed the weight of anxiety, there are plenty of opportunities to be found within ASH3, BF3, and CLF5.

All crew members are given a card from the Captains that has an unlimited amount of credits on it. Organized through trade, these allow Moirans access to any of the luxuries that the Collective has to offer aside from the purchase of items considered weapons due to the escalation of recent events. Food, clothes, trinkets, or even a full spa experience—the limits, otherwise, are endless. The Captains emphasize that this is time to relax and take a break from the grind that is living and working on a spaceship as unique as the Moira.

☄ B.E.A.C.H! THE BEST ESCAPE ANYONE CAN HAVE!

For those seeking a fun time, the Collective offers a variety of activities on ASH3. There are multiple beaches to enjoy as well as beachside kiosks offering drinks, beach toys and surf equipment for those a little more sports-minded. The tide washes in beautiful shells to collect, and there are always life-guards on duty to make sure everyone stays safe while enjoying their time on the beach. ASH3 offers a safe and friendly environment with plenty of fun in the sun for everyone. There is also a boardwalk full of restaurants, bars and plenty of games and entertainment for when you want to step off the sand but don’t want to give up being out in the sun.For those who can’t or won’t bear the sun, ASH3 also offers a thriving night life on both beach and boardwalk. There are midnight boat tours to view the bioluminescent schools of fish native to the island and bonfire dance parties that go long into the mornings. On the boardwalk, all shops are open until midnight as well as many clubs and social spots where crew can mingle with other tourists in the area.

So you don’t like the sand. It’s too hot, and it gets everywhere. Then hop onto one of the many transportation systems, slip into some warmer clothes, and take to the slopes. More experienced crew can immediately dive in, but those who need help can take lessons on how to ski or snowboard. There’s hot cocoa, sleds, snowball fights, and the occasional person making a snow angel (or snow person). ASH3 also has areas for rock climbing, sky diving, base jumping, bodyboarding, canoeing, hang gliding, jetskis, mountain biking, hiking, and much more.

☄ WHEN I SHOP, THE WORLD GETS BETTER

Not everyone enjoys shopping, but this Collective entices even the most frugal and reluctant into spending their credits here. In fact, the Captains are encouraging this. They give the explicit “order” to buy whatever you want for yourself and your fellow crew members, but more than that, to consider making purchases to better the ship. Is there any area of the Moira that needs spruced up? Maybe some fresh paint in the mess hall,or new furniture in the decks? Maybe some fancy curtains for all those windows on the observation deck, or a few throw pillows? New pots and pans for the kitchen might be something to add to this list as well as equipment for the rec area, or whatever else you think BF3 will have to help increase comfort aboard the Moira.

To enhance your shopping experience, the technology here allows you to try on clothes without lifting a hand. The food here is an unlimited spread of gourmet dining to comfort food and every dessert you can think of. When you’re finished with your purchases, have all your packages and larger items delivered back to the ship for you.

The accommodations on the Collective of CLF5 are as unique as they come. Lodging is available for those who want to sleep in an environment that’s underwater or perhaps those who desire something as simple as a soft bed. No matter what kind of room you want to purchase for the night, it’ll be available here, and the only true limit is the imagination. When you aren’t relaxing in a hotel room, you’ll find that there are numerous spas and hair salons that offer varied services. Gold face masks rejuvenate your skin, the Ever Young™ Spa can make you look ten years younger with one treatment, and the mud baths are known across the universes for making you feel youthful and refreshed. [Having decided to come here mainly out of contrariness, Jasper is still kind of tense, and has been keeping to the boardwalk instead of the sand, whose lack of solidity under her feet irritates her. She's just thinking that she's done her time here and can get away with returning to the ship with her dignity intact when she spots a flash of blue out of the corner of her eye and goes still.

This has happened before. It's a big galaxy; there are a fair few types of coincidentally blue-skinned organic aliens. Jasper forces herself to look back, though, just in case -- and finds herself staring straight at Lapis Lazuli.

There's no mistaking her. This isn't some different lapis lazuli, here by some wild coincidence. This is the one who tricked her, who betrayed her, who kept her prisoner under the ocean for interminable months until she was brought here.

The bustle of the crowd seems to hush around her, although of course it's only in her mind. Her hands clench into fists, and she barely realises she's summoned her helmet -- a few of the tourists around her gasp in surprise but she doesn't notice.]

Lapis Lazuli!

[She bellows the name, face twisted into a furious, snarling grimace. She doesn't step towards the other gem, but she looks as if she might launch herself at her at any minute. Other people begin to back away from her.]

[She's pulled away from her brooding thoughts and brought back to reality with the force of a cold slap behind that voice. Lapis stands immediately, her wings reaching out behind her ready to take to the skies, but not in escape.

When she locks her sight on Jasper down below she feels every part of her body tense and go rigid. Distantly, the ocean's tides rumble and beckon to her unconscious will. She steps out to the edge of the awning and beyond it, eyes never leaving Jasper, and lets herself float down to the ground. By now the tourists have scattered to leave them a wide berth for whatever violence was about to occur.]

Jasper.

[Lapis raises her hand and with the motion a nearby fountain stops its flow to come to her and wrap around her hand. She was ready.]

[Jasper likes to think of herself as, on the whole, level-headed and practical, but she can't be either of those things in the face of surprise Lapis. She isn't thinking clearly. If she was maybe she'd realise there's no way she can be forced back into Malachite without her cooperation, or that if she wanted Lapis to leave her alone then trying to just sneak away quietly would probably be the best option. But Lapis is a threat, and too much of a personal threat for Jasper to handle rationally. She's a quartz, and her instinct, impossible to suppress through the cold, dark fear that grips her, is to ready herself for a fight.

Something that causes her this much distress is clearly something that needs to be eliminated.

She launches herself towards Lapis with a snarl, head lowered like a charging rhino.]

[By now everyone has already scattered in every direction away from the beginning fight. When Jasper lunges forward Lapis doesn't hesitate in bringing forth a heavy torrent of water shaped like a hand aimed straight at the stampeding quartz. Almost immediately she brings two more heavy streams of water from the fountain and throws them on either side of Jasper with the intention of knocking her off course.

Lapis doesn't take to the air right away, even with her wings out and ready.]

I'm ending this, Jasper!

[Jasper leaps backwards as the water crashes around her, flinching where droplets of it splash onto her as if she's been hit by acid. She lands, boots skidding on the sand, yellow eyes flashing.]

It was already over! {Her teeth are bared.] You shouldn't be here.

You shouldn't be in one piece.

[She raises her arms up again and brings another giant towering hand over both of them. It rises above all the shops and casts a watery shadow over them and anyone else left in its vicinity. The water is drained from not only the fountain, but also the beach, much to the surprise of a few dozen tourists trying to enjoy the water. Lapis doesn't seem to care about the consequences.

Fingers splayed she holds it over Jasper like a swatter over a fly.]

But I'm going to fix that now.

[She feels a shiver along her back as the shadow of the water passes over her. But fear isn't going to make her back off. She digs her heels in, energy building around her.]

I'd like to see you try.

[She surges forward into one of those ludicrous spin attacks, a ball of fiery energy hurtling across the beach towards Lapis and leaving melted sand in its wake.]

[A commotion like this one, it's not very hard to miss. Even harder to miss when you have a hero complex the size of the dang moon. Frisk had seen the beginnings of this scene and started running over immediately, panicked and hoping to stop things before they got too far.]

[Jasper is closing fast with Lapis, but Frisk's little legs pump as hard as they can to put themself between the two gems, hands held out to either side in a clear sign of Y'ALL NEED TO SIT THE HECKIE DOWN.]

STOP IT!

You-

[Just as she was bringing down the heavy wave over Jasper with all the force she can muster, someone jumps out between them. The sudden action startles Lapis enough that the control she had over the giant hand is gone and suddenly the wave turns into a short lived torrential downpour, soaking everyone.

But Lapis recovers quickly after that point and snarls. Who was this person?!]

Move or I'll move you myself!

[Jasper's moving so fast she almost doesn't notice Frisk in time. She swerves out of the way and to a sharp halt, kicking up sand.]

Frisk, no--

[Teeth gritted, she charges over, scooping the human up in one big arm so she can set them down to the side. Her eyes are wild. Her hair is wilder.]

Get out of here, Frisk. She's dangerous.

No! I'm not mov--

[Oh look, they're being moved. Frisk makes a faint sound of surprise (but no particular protest) when Jasper scoops them up and sets them to the side. But they frown and square their shoulders, shaking their head firmly.]

No! You're not fighting, th' captains said this is gonna be a nice time here, an' that means no fighting!

[She can't believe what she's seeing right now. Jasper stopping to protect a human - it wasn't right, it wasn't like Jasper at all. Not when she remembers watching Jasper hurt Steven without a care for his well being.

She feels herself boiling with rage and lashes out.]

I'm dangerous?! LIAR! [The fallen water around Jasper's feet rise up into chains and lock around her neck and arms, throwing her back across the beach.] How dare you, how dare you- [Her hands clench into tight fists, the chains gripping Jasper.] You're the threat! Not me!

Hgk--

[Jasper struggles against the chains, jaw clenched, sinews standing out in her arms as she tries to pull herself free. It doesn't work, and she roars in anger and frustration. She sure as hell looks threatening.]

You're a traitor! [She just manages to grit the words out past her terror of the chains.] You can't -- rrghh --

No, no! Stop it, stop fighting--!

[Frisk wants to try and get back into the middle of things, try and stop the fighting themself...but that's exactly what had landed them in trouble not all that long ago. Everyone expects them to go get someone else to help, and...well, they don't have any magic to fight back with. Maybe they should.]

[Letting out a whine of frustration, Frisk turns and starts running towards the shops--they think they remember seeing someone hanging around there that could help. They'll just have to hope that they're right.]

[She doesn't listen to Frisk or their attempts at breaking up the fight. At this point nothing would stop Lapis until she could feel Jasper's gem breaking under foot.

The chains pull Jasper down closer to the ground until her face is only a few inches from the sand. Lapis' arms strain under the pressure of keeping Jasper tied down, but she refused to relent even the slightest bit right now. Stepping closer she looks down at her, eyes dark and hateful.]

All I've ever wanted was to be left alone... [Water creeps up Jasper's sides and along her neck and jawline.] But you... you had to ruin everything for me! I won't let you hurt me or anyone else ever again - I don't care if I'm a traitor to a Homeworld that isn't even mine!

Why --

[That's all she manages to get out before she has to clamp her mouth shut to keep the water out. She glares up at Lapis with fire in her eyes, still straining against her bindings with all her might -- until at last the tension is too much for them, and they break.

Jasper is surprised, actually, when they do, her eyes widening for a moment, but she reacts quickly, saving herself from stumbling in time to direct some of that momentum into a punch aimed at Lapis' middle.]

[It happens so fast. A tremor in Lapis' concentration gives Jasper the opportunity to break free.

Before she can bring the water back to at least protect herself the punch connects with her stomach and Lapis chokes, her vision going white for a split moment. It sends her tumbling across the sand, disoriented and hurting. While she was strong in her own ways one-on-one fighting would never be a strong point for her. It was only luck she didn't immediately poof at that punch.

Lapis pushes herself up with her forearms and wheezes, but starts trying to gather the water again into a clone of Jasper.]

[Jasper's eyes narrow as the double begins to form. Her shoulders are shaking and she's dripping water like a drenched cat, but she has no intention of slowing down. She wipes the back of one hand over her mouth, breathing out hard through her teeth.]

You disgusting, lying traitor. I'm going to crush you.

[She steps forward, drawing back her fist to attack.]

[Lapis pulls herself back up with a visible wince, taking a few steps back to regain her balance. The water clone has taken full form now, uncanny gaze staring straight through Jasper and posed between her and Lapis as a barrier.

She growls.]

I'll drag you back down into the ocean's darkest depths before I let you even try.

[Peridot had already been yelping and stomping her way through the crowds when Frisk caught up with her. She doesn't know what exactly is happening, but the fiery orange blur of Jasper's spin-dash is hard to miss. She sees it from all the way down the boardwalk, and that alone is enough for her to know that something is amiss.

The kid's report puts an extra urgency in her step. Two gems fighting, the water behaving strangely all of a sudden... Not hard to put two and two together.

As the two opponents square off again, there comes a frantic yelling, a droning whirr--]

wwwwWWWAAAAIIIIIT--

[Flying over the crowded boardwalk had been a lot more practical than trying to shoulder her way through it. Peridot drops down between the two of them, stumbling, wild-eyed and panting, gaze shifting between them both as her copter blades stop and shift back into a regular hand.]

T-t-t-time-- Time out, TIME OUT!

[Jasper lowers her fist, impatient and irritated.]

Get out of the way, Peridot.

[Lapis stops then, but only to stare incredulously at Peridot's sudden and wild entrance.When had the smaller gem gotten her enhancers back? Lapis narrows her eyes and scowls. The water clone stands stock still where it is and despite Lapis' current silence she doesn't seem to be immediately backing down at Peridot's insistence.

For now though she'll wait.]

No!!

[she says it with such force and emotion in her voice that she even surprises herself with it, faltering a moment before she starts aggressively addressing Jasper.]

Aside from the fact that you're making a scene, you're letting your emotions get the better of you Jasper! YOU at least know that even if you do succeed in shattering Lazuli-- which I can surmise is what you're trying to accomplish here-- if she's a crew member now, she's just going to wind up coming back! So even if you WEREN'T making a completely rock-headed decision for irrational reasons, there's literally no point to what you're doing!

[Jasper opens her mouth to argue, but -- she can't, really. Peridot's right. She growls in frustration.]

We can't just let her back on the ship.

[She's listening to them bicker, eyes narrowing further as her frustration grows. Finally after a few tense minutes Lapis looks over to Peridot.]

Peridot. [The puddles of water around them ripple.] What you're doing is pointless. Jasper is a threat to us all.
