It is all so very curious and fascinating. He finds himself flitting from section to section in silent awe, and his mind is so lost in his interest that he does not even recognize the man dozing to the side until he speaks. When he does, Spock’s attention immediately returns to the present.]
Doctor. You are here. [An obvious observation, yet something he feels he must say, not only for the fact that the Doctor is aboard the Moira but also to address that he is in the same space as Spock as well.
And the Doctor's comment proves particularly difficult to answer well without further context.] I do not know in which manner I should address your statement.
[Or if it is even welcome, given the usual pattern of their dialogues.]

That'd always been his biggest dig against spaceships, how confined and unnatural they felt. Humankind isn't meant for this kind of life, especially not for any sort of prolonged period of time.
But that is a digression for another time, when McCoy's not so stunned and annoyed by the first officer's presence, whether it be a dream or not. He scrubs at his eyes, a soft sigh escaping from his lips. ]
You could jus' say you're happy to see me. [ If this were a real dream, he would, if only because that's the only place Leonard would expect to hear it. He tosses his hand down atop his leg, his back pushing uncomfortably away from the wirey fence. ]
Oh yeah, this was a bad idea. [ He groans, reaching around to rub the ache settling in along his spine, his fingers massaging against bone and muscle as he slouches forward. ]

Not knowing the best means to allay the doctor’s aches, he simply offers his hand as a means to aid the man in straightening himself.]
It does seem quite foolish.
[He remarks, not to be condescending, but to agree. The interlocking chains, while fairly sustainable against great weight, are hardly something pleasant to lay one’s weight against.]

He rubs his fingers a little more firmly into the muscle, rising slowly to his feet, his efforts paused when he notices the other's hand extended toward him. ]
I'm fine. [ He shrugs, his hand lowering away from his aching back. ] Just a little more worn out than I thought.
[ A long day of processing new crewmembers through medbay will do that to a man. But Leonard's not about to continue grousing about his pitiful predicament. Much as he wants to, he's a little more concerned with Spock's presence aboard the ship, and how he's been able to absorb and adapt to all this.
He looks the Vulcan over cursorily, his gaze drifting down furtively then back up, assuring himself that no part of him was lost on the way through the Ingress. (He was told such a thing would never happen, that no one's ever lost a body part when they've come through, but McCoy, as always, remains skeptical.) When his eyes meet Spock's again, he forces himself to frown. ]
You're lookin' lively as ever. [ He remarks dryly, but with good nature. Like there was some small part of him that wanted to say something else, something a little more sappy, but he couldn't bring himself to utter the words. ]

As Leonard looks him over, Spock takes his own turn to assess his companion's condition. While in some ways he seems very much the same as Spock would expect, there is an underlying exhaustion that Spock senses is new, something quite unlike the usual wear of a day's work in the medical bay and instead akin to anguish.
It concerns him immediately, but he knows better than to speak too quickly. He offers a familiar, amused tilt of the head at Leonard's remark as he replies.]
And fortunate that you as well are well enough, Doctor. [And then a bit cheekily...] Perhaps some exercise will ease your aches.

Did the captains make you a medic? 'Cause if they did, I'd ask for a reassignment, if I were you. [ Because he's not impressed with that medical advice. At all. If Leonard had to prescribe himself anything, it'd be a nice, long session in the massage chair he has tucked away somewhere on Mero deck. Something to knead the soreness out of his back. Too bad the ship's power isn't stable enough to keep the thing juiced.
He'll just have to keep working the soreness out himself. He reaches behind his back and rubs once more before pulling back. ]
