...kind of her only thing right now.]
Sure. I have them all cataloged in my files.
Is this out of concern for an allergy?

[ Obviously she works there, as she is in the gardens and spraying seedlings, but Spock wants to assess just where she ranks.
It is unfortunate that he has yet to access a list of all personnel on the ship. It's on his to-do list. ]

I'm piloting the program. Assuming, of course, that our illustrious new captains allow me to continue.
[Snark is a coping mechanism. She's genuinely concerned about her place. She worked hard to get the program going. It's her baby and she's not ready to let go just yet.
With a shrug and a flip of her hair, she walks over to her leather bag by the door, pulling out a thick, leatherbound notebook. The pages are covered in her scrawling handwriting.]
I have them organized both alphabetically and by bank location. The alphabetical list compares the plants that I don't know well to genuses and species from my universe. You're more than welcome to take a look, but you'll have to do it here.

And a stronger push to reach the origin of the Ingress and get some answers is not illogical, even if it means diverting power to only the necessary functions.
He takes the book from her and flips through a few of the pages to find the plants they're currently standing near. And if he gives off vibes of slight annoyance (not that he would) - Well. Stone knives and bearskins and scrawling handwriting do not make good science. ]
What was your home universe, Miss- [ And did he really forget to introduce himself? ] Apologies. I am Spock. Might I have your name?

[She folds her arms, fighting off a sense of pride. Her records may be primitive, but they're very thorough. Fatima knows her plantlife. It was one of the few non-Noddist ideals that her mother hammered into her.
And it's served her well.
Beside each plant's name, she lists a genus and species of a comparable earth plant. Everything from mint to tomatoes. And strawberries. But those are real strawberries, brought over from Zelien.]
I don't know if my home universe has an official name, but I'm from a city called Los Angeles. California. Earth.
[And not Middle Earth, Mr. Pointy Ears.]

The comparisons are helpful and the plants are ones he knows, which does help identify the others. ]
Earth is known in my universe, as is California. I am unacquainted with the city of which you speak, as my time there was spent in San Francisco.
[ This isn't entirely his first experience with alternate universes, though it is the first time he's actually been away from his world - which isn't Middle Earth, though the comparison is almost apt.
Vulcans. The space elves of the universe?]no subject
That's...
Where has she seen that before?]
What's that?
[She all but points at it. Some people take that the wrong way.]

It is a Starfleet insignia. Science division. What year was it on your Earth when you arrived here?
no subject
[Starfleet? She's heard that word before.
No. No. She's seen it. Maybe somewhere in her notes about Zelien? She quickly grabs another notebook from her bag and starts flipping through it. Her scrawling handwriting covers every page, with a few annotations in the margins--notes from Sam and emojis from Cas. But as she goes further and further back through her own personal history, she finds more of the notes she took on the people she knew...
And there it is.]
Starfleet. An...interplanetary exploration force with military capability?
no subject
[ First Contact between Vulcan and Earth hadn't even occurred in that year, so her familiarity with it is rather surprising. Not impossible - as she is familiar with Starfleet, it cannot be impossible - but unexpected.
He actually pulls his attention away from the book to look at her. ]

You're not the first member of Starfleet that I've met.
There was a place called 'Zelien.' An organization called COMPASS pulled research subjects from across the universe. There were two Starfleet officers there with me.

[Fatima will mask how much she misses them, how much she misses everyone from Zelien. The survivor's guilt is a real bitch. The best way to get past it is to go through.
Sometimes easier said than done.]
I was very close to a woman, a Doctor Beverly Crusher.
[She doesn't wait to see if he recognizes the name or not. It happens, quite a lot, that people from common worlds know each other. But just as frequently, they don't. There's no figuring out the multiverse.]
And there was a guy named Jim.
no subject
I am unfamiliar with Dr. Crusher, but that does not preclude the possibility of her being a part of the organization. It is rather large. The Jim - are you aware of his last name and rank?
[ It was before her time on the ship and there is already a Jim Kirk on the ship, so there is little point in asking. But that need to know is insistent. ]
no subject
[They didn't really talk too much about rank, given the fact that they'd all be reduced to the level of being prisoners. He was pretty badass, though. Fatima remembers that much with a slight smile.]
His name was Jim Kirk.
