Humans take a bit to really learn how to fight, and I suppose they can't all learn at a young age like I did.

Can't all learn at a young age? [Jasper seems bewildered by this assertion. She folds her arms.] Why not?

Well, I think to start with there's a bit of a stigma against child soldiers. [Says the former child soldier.]

And even beyond that, people are more worried about more... domestic threats.

Maybe if you taught the children to fight you wouldn't all be so worried about them getting hurt. [Jasper herself is of course NEVER worried about ANY children, ever. NOT HER]

Well, I suppose I can't say much about that since I was running a whole army when I was twelve. But no one's exactly consulted me on Earth's defenses, you know?

[He shrugs.]

Well then. If you could run an army when you were twelve then they're obviously underestimating the rest of your children.

I might have been a special case. But I think it's less of an underestimation and more of a not wanting to subject children to that sort of thing, a good portion of the time.

At least as far as I can tell.
