[ What is it with her and grabbing hands? Clara, you aren't going to die. You have a parachute. ]

You'll probably break your hand first.

[ He can't help laughing: 1) because it's true and 2) because the idea of her slapping him only brings up memories of another uppity human he had the pleasure of meeting by the name of Jane Foster.

He trails behind her, glancing over the edge. Heights don't bother them and probably never will but at least he has enough sense to be slightly anxious. ]

Why? Are you scared? [ The grin he's wearing, she should feel insulted. ]

[Offended that he'd even ask, she reaches over and lightly hits at his arm. No!

[There's a pause, and she looks back down off the cliff. Hang gliding is one thing, but this is very different. It's so...equipmentless.]

Yes. [Pause.] No, wait.

[She holds up her hand, so he won't speak.]

Anything could happen.

[She looks up to him, dropping her hold on his hand so she can turn and fully face him, holding up both hands with her index fingers raised.]

You go first, I'll follow. That way if it comes down to it, I can land on top of you at the bottom. You're durable, aren't you?

[ He only flinches out of instinct, holding up a hand to temper her, well, temper. ] Sure.

[ He arches a brow, about to speak. Don't cut him off, Clara.

Instead of mouthing off to her, he grasps both her raised hands. ]

I can still die. [ Yes, the best thing to say to someone who is currently being nervous about base jumping. He inches them both closer to the edge, his back to the cliff. ] But don't worry. I'll hold you if you need it when we're done.

[ If Clara detests a lack of control, she's going to hate him now. Loki makes it so their fingers are threaded together with one hand and lets go of the other. ]

Ladies first. [ He yanks her forward by said hand making sure she's the first to start falling, with him close behind. He doesn't let go of her hand even if he is laughing. ]

[Clara's screams are loud and shrill at first, as her little limbs flail. She very much so looks like a drowning cat trying to get out of water. It's probably very comical. It doesn't take long for her to get the hang of things, though, and her surprise gives way to a pure adrenaline rush that has her laughing and hollering as she turns her body in a way that makes her go even faster.

She pulls her parachute and manages to land on her feet in the end, but the weight of the parachute makes her fall forward in a heap, the mass of fabric on top of her. It takes her a full minute to unbuckle herself from the chute and crawl her way out, and when she does she marches right over to Loki in order to ball up her hand in an angry little fist and punch him on the arm. It's not hard enough to hurt, but definitely meant to let him know she's not pleased.

She's trembling with too much rage to fit in such a small body, and glares up at him for a few moments, her chest rising and falling quickly. With the punching him out of her system, she's able to get over her fury quickly. So it fizzles out with laughter, and her rising up on her tiptoes to quickly kiss him. She handles her emotions in a whirlwind, okay.
]

I'm keeping the fact that you can die same as anyone else in mind for next time.

[It's said in a whisper into his ear, and it's really hard to tell if she's teasing or not. She's wearing a smirk on her face as she pulls away, at least.]

[ Loki isn't the epitome of calm either even if he doesn't scream. The initial feel of falling sends a rush of adrenaline right through him, but c'mon this is fun. Twisting and turning through the air has a way of making a person feel free to let loose which he so seldom does--completely anyway. Loki is so very in his element of extreme recklessness.

He doesn't land as gracefully as she does after the parachute comes out. He stumbles a bit on the ground, trying to catch his footing. He could do that several times and never get tired of the rush. He was still working his way out of the gear by the time she decides to punch him in the arm and he can only laugh. For once it isn't a cynical, point laugh at her expense. He actually sounds cheerful. The kiss just makes him grin even wider, clearly proud of himself for his antics.

Nothing she could do could stop him from preening. ]

Oh please. As if you could find it in your heart to kill me. You'd get bored. [ He finally worked the straps off his shoulders. ] You can say it. You had fun. I'll wait.

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-16 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Of course I had fun.

[She snaps it at him, rolling her eyes as he manages to get the parachute pack off. She has half a mind to grab it from him and hit him with it. Not that it would be easy to lift, and she's already ruined the effect of actual anger by kissing him and putting that stupid grin on his face.]

But that doesn't give you the right to throw me off before I've agreed to it! I could've died.

[It's completely obvious that she's putting up an argument for the sake of it, just to try and keep him from preening and looking so proud of himself. Her arms cross over her chest, and she tips her head up to look in the direction they've come from. And with a casual glance over at him, she shrugs.]

Want to give it another go?

[ Nothing is going to stop him from preening especially as she tries to whine which only makes her look cute rather than feisty. ]

You're not dead, are you?

[ As if that somehow makes it better he shoved her off of a cliff.

Had this been anyone else he'd expect them to say they'd never want to see the edge of a cliff for the next century. They'd sooner stab him then let him convince them into yet another reckless action thirsting for just another taste of adventure for the sake of it. In that regard he is everything his name represents. Chaotic, whimsical, and carefree. A trouble-maker.

While he had already decided Clara was worth his time her blatant encouragement of his antics meant he might have actually found someone he could consider a casual friend.

This time it's him grasping her hand to stop her from looking so pouty with her arms crossed, dragging her along. ]

Oh, Valhalla no. [ A chuckle. ] But the next thing on my list is just as fun. We'll have to hitch a ride on one of the airships for it.

[Glancing at their joined hands, she follows along after him, her much shorter legs having to hurry to keep up. She's wearing a curious smile on her face, all upset about the cliff incident now forgotten as wondering what it is he has up his sleeve next wins out.]

I think you're the first person to encourage my recklessness. If the Doctor were here, he'd be furious.

[He treats her like she's made of glass, though she knows it's because he cares for her and doesn't want anything happening to her. So exercises a small bit of caution on her own, although the Doctor had long since ruined her sense of fear for dangerous situations.]

You aren't planning on having us jump out of an airship, are you?
chaostic: (115)

[personal profile] chaostic 2016-06-16 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He may or may not adjust to walk a little slower. He isn't used to doing so. Thor's taller than him and usually the one dragging him around. ]

He sounds like a stick in the mud. [ His recklessness doesn't show a lack of care. It's just that the person he usually has fun with could literally lift a building for fun if he really put his mind to it. Thor is rather indestructible. ]

Please, I'm not so unoriginal. [ He turns his gaze up toward the sky, seeing if he can spot on within his range of guessing with his own magic. ] Have you ever teleported before?
bosswald: (Default)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-16 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[She glances up to see him looking upward, and tips her head so she can do the same. Her gaze lingers for a few seconds before she's looking back to him, completely casual with discussing teleportation.]

A handful of times, give or take. Always using a machine or a ship, though.

[She steps in a little closer to him, guessing that if he's feeling as whimsical as he was up on the cliff, he's liable to teleport them without any warning. At least with her holding onto his hand, they're tethered together and can't wind up separated or anything.]

How good are you at perfecting your landings?

[Because she can see him dropping them above the ocean and letting them fall just for the hell of it, just to get a reaction out of her. She trusts him well enough though, and figures that he'll get them to where he wants them to be just so he can impress her.]

Magic works about the same, just with a little bit of disorientation.

[ Once he spots an airship, and gets a general gauge for distance he stops to turn back toward her. ] Perfect. [ He has had plenty of time to work out the kinks and as long as he can see where they're going it isn't a horrible experience like blindly searching for a shoreline or a plot of land to escape to. ]

Close your eyes so you won't get dizzy. [ That's all the warning she gets before she's wrapped up in a twist of space, a distortion of power, taking them from one location to the next. Thankfully, they end up on the main deck and not somewhere inside some stuffy room.

The airship they've landed on is large, seemingly too big to really be flying, yet here it is casting out a view of the snow-capped peaks where the ski resort is just a few miles out. ]
There that wasn't so bad.

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-16 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Her eyes quickly close at his warning, knowing now how fond he is of acting quickly. And sure enough, he acts right after speaking, leaving her to try and move closer to him in the process of teleporting. Used to the feel of being pulled through time and relocating, she's not as impacted by it as some other human might be.

So when they land, she glances up at him, realizing she's wedged herself firmly beneath his arm and up against his side. There's sheepish laughter as she pulls away, so she can take a look around where they are now.

Her eyes catch sight of the snow and she grins, hurrying away from him and over to the side of the deck so she can peer outside. She hasn't been to this area yet.
]

Very impressive.

[Whether she means him, his ability to teleport them, or the scenery she doesn't let on.]

[personal profile] chaostic 2016-06-16 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He might have used more tact if he wasn't worried about targeting a moving object. He was no Kurt Wagner so it'd be better for both of them if they landed on something solid while he had a good estimate of where it was rather than in the middle of the air.

Loki made a bit of a disgruntled sound with her so close, only because he took it as a sign she didn't exactly trust his abilities rather than anything else. He prided himself in smooth travel. A thing Thor was completely incapable of in the worst ways.

Loki would rather put as much distance between then and anything snow-related if he could manage it but he trails behind her, his gaze cast out toward the warmer side of the planet.

He assumes she means the scenery. ]

I'd say so. [ A slight smile. ] I am curious to know if it's weather magic that keeps the two environments separate yet so close together.
bosswald: (Default)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-17 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Clara stares out at the snow for a moment longer, before turning to go over to stand at his side. She stands close once again, reaching up to rest her hand on his arm.]

It could be magic. It's a nice thought, proper magic actually existing. My bet is on some sort of invention we haven't heard of yet. Technology.

[She looks up to him, looking oh so curious.]

You could do something like this, couldn't you? You're powerful enough, I wager. [Pausing, her nose wrinkles up and she laughs, and uses her hip to nudge him.] I already called you impressive. I take back the powerful. No need to inflate your ego.
chaostic: (074)

[personal profile] chaostic 2016-06-19 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
[ There is something familiar in the way she isn't afraid to touch him, or skirts around his demeanor as if there is some separation. The hand on his arm makes him look in her direction. ]

Not everything exists as technology.

[ And doesn't he know it.

He grins, all too ready to accept that compliment the way it is. ]

Why ever not? I might be capable. Who knows? I haven't tried. [ Nope, she has to stick with her comment. She already said it. ] Or maybe you'll learn a bit of magic yourself and do it all on your own. [ Is that an offer? Hard to say. He likes to mess with other people's potential when he can. Cultivating powerful allies is sort of his thing as is stealing power from them but she needn't know that much. ]
bosswald: (Default)

[personal profile] bosswald 2016-06-19 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
[His saying that makes her wickedly grin, laughing in an impish sort of way with thoughts on what all she could do with magic. She could be even more of a boss if she had some.]

Is that an offer to teach me?

[Taken by the fact that it sounds like it is, she uses both of her arms to wrap around one of his, in a makeshift hug of sorts. She presses her cheek against his arm before pulling away, grinning up at him as she walks off in the other direction to look around.]

If I had magic, I'd make stars everywhere I went. My own personal galaxies. I wouldn't waste time on things like snow.

[Because like sand, it gets everywhere. And then it melts and you're cold and everything is horrible.]
