"Open up, and let them in."
|
Pidge Gunderson
[While fighting Galra soldiers and robots is one thing, wilderness survival is quite another, and is certainly not anywhere in any of Pidge's skill sets. Her skills revolve around tech and strategy, which doesn't lend itself very well at all to the crew's need to hunt and explore the area. Which means she keeps to the main group as much as possible, maintaining the hover beds when they need to be looked at and trying to get some of her paladin armor tech to function the way it used to. Anyone near her while she's doing so will probably hear her mumbled, frustrated complaints.]
Oh, come on... Work...!
[When she isn't trying to fix something, for the most part Pidge keeps to the company of her fellow Voltron teammates, but she also goes around and regularly checks in on the few friends she'd made while on the Moira. She may not be good with people, or even particularly close with anyone from the ship, Pidge would rather not leave anyone to die or get hurt.]
Week 2.
[Broken Ingress machines.
There's no point in denying exactly how much Pidge's interest is piqued at the sheer sight of them. Because she's drawn to the broken tech and the various parts like a moth to the flame, eyes bright and alert with a mix of excitement and curiosity. She's basically picking up everything that isn't completely destroyed or warped, murmuring to herself about the potential uses she has for each item that she finds. The few times they come across an actual Ingress station, broken or not, Pidge is all over it.
Once the group stops to camp, that's when she finds a place to sit (sometimes close to a ruined Ingress station to see if there's any power that can be sucked out of it), spreads out all of her found treasures of the day, and starts to pore over them all carefully. Some of them get used to help upgrade her laptop; others get tossed back out to the wilds.
She isn't exactly looking at where she's tossing things, though. It's certainly not her fault if someone gets hit...]
Week 3.
[Pidge opts for the explorer route once they hit what sort of resembles civilization. Abandoned, ruined civilization, but still. Here there could be information about the planet they've landed on, or more importantly, information on the numerous Ingress machines that they've seen during their travels. Pidge is starved for answers, and there's very little to work with here.
Of course, she's not about to blindly walk into one of those caves. She in fact stops short of the entrance to one just so she can frown at it. And then slowly turn toward anyone nearby.]
I'm pretty sure going in without a proper flashlight is a phenomenally bad idea. Right?
Week 4.
[The attempt at a celebration is nice. It isn't much, and Pidge feels like it's coming more from a place of complete desperation for hope than anything else, but... it's the thought that counts, right?
Pidge would probably consider trying to join any festivities if it weren't for the fact that... Well. She thinks she knows what holidays the crew is talking about, based purely on the way it's been described to those unfamiliar with it. And with thinking about holidays, she finds herself thinking about her family. Her lost, captured-by-aliens family.
So she sits more on the outskirts of whatever's going on, busy with looking up at the stars and worrying about what all this lost time means for them.]
Wildcard.
[COME AT ME, BRO.]
WEEK 1
[He rolls onto his back and hangs his head upside down over the edge towards Pidge.]
Having some trouble...? Maybe I can help.
I'm an engineer, you know.
Did you try giving it a good whack?
[/ENGINEER!!]
no subject
Wow. Why didn't I think of that.
[And then she looks right back at what she's working on. Pointedly ignoring his "advice."]
no subject
Is there something wrong with these things? Is it dangerous?
no subject
Nothing dangerous. Just emissions of low level radiation.
[Aaaaaaand back down.] It probably won't kill you.

week 4
[Even a quiet party isn't really his scene. And, besides, someone important was missing. So he'd left, quietly, and without causing a stir. It seemed like most people were too tired to keep tabs on anyone. Lucky for him, exhaustion was a default state of existence.]
[He sits next to her, carrying something bundled into one of the jumpsuits they'd all been issued on arrival. Holding it out to her.]
Before you say anything, I reserve the right to use "it's the thought that counts" in my defense.
no subject
Either way, she gives him a little smile by way of greeting. She scoots over a little bit just to give him more room when he sits down, and she's about to turn her attention skyward again when he extends that bundle toward her. She blinks down at it once, twice, then slowly reaches out to take it.]
What... How'd you even find something to give me?
no subject
[He'd found it in the cargo hold, then shoved it in the PacDisc. Just in case. And since the whole crew was celebrating some kind of vaguely Christmas thing... it seemed like a better time than "randomly".]
[It really isn't much. Just a plastic robot toy. More like a silly nonsense gift than anything she could really use. But he figured, maybe, she'd crack a smile over it. And if that failed... the simple, purple hair tie around its neck might work.]
If you don't have room in your disc, I'll put it back in mine.

This is awesome. This guy was on the ship? And you just held onto it this whole time?

CATCH ME, NEO, YOU USELESS TIT!
[Matrix jokes aside, the follow up is the loudest. where he's bashed in the head by some nuts and bolts. not the first time or the last.]

But once she hears that shout, she'll throw out a calm-] Look out.

Week 3
[Elizabeth puts one last stroke of her pencil in her book, a delicate sketch of the skyline either finished or put off until a later time, and closes it with a conspiratorial smile.]
Not so smart to go in there alone, but of all the problems to have, lighting isn't one of them. [She gets to her feet and tilts her head towards the opening of the cave.] Want to poke around?
no subject
What do you mean? It'll only get darker the further we go in.
[But there's definitely a strong desire to go in and poke around, as the lady's put it. It's just part of Pidge's inquisitive nature. Or something.]
no subject
I'm not much of an artist though-- you should see it for yourself.

week 1
he uses his holoform to try and be less intimidating. being a 32ft robot kinda does that. it's flickering slightly, because of his poor concentration and energy levels, but it's convincing enough.
ish.]
Hello! Tiny person. Did you try, ah. Letting an [finger quotes] "adult" deal with that?
[he's nailed it. he's certain he's nailed it.]
no subject
This moment, however, is an exception for slightly different reasons. Mainly because what Pidge just heard has her going through a bit of a roller coaster of reactions.
"Tiny person" earns this newcomer a particularly annoyed look, but then it fades into one of confusion at the air-quotes. What even. What even.]
I don't need an- [Finger quotes right back.] "adult" for this. They wouldn't know what they're doing.

week 3
[lúcio is squinting, wondering just how curious he is.]
I mean, I have lights, but they're mostly green. That would just make it eerie! Ah, if you wanna wait a couple minutes I can change the hex colour in the programming.
no subject
You can change 'em.
[And she even grins a little. Because maybe she's curious to see this light tech stuff in action.]
no subject
[he claps his hands for show, then brings up a holographic diplay that doesn't look unlike a photoshop colour palette.]
What do you reckon? Cyan? Maybe pastel purple?

Abruptly, there's someone plopping down right next to Pidge, a plate of some scrounged-up food being poked at with a dubious sound before it's set down between them.]
You think this is as fake as I do, chico?
no subject
I wouldn't say "fake." [She turns back, glancing briefly at the plate of food.] Just... weird, I guess.
no subject
Let's not linger on that, for the kid's sake. Chica, Sombra mentally corrects, shrugging a bit as she neatly takes once of the pieces from the plate and turns it in her hand.]
That half of them are just celebrating because the other half said it was a good time? But at least they're having fun. [She takes an experimental bite of it, and then a noncommittal sound. Not too bad.]
