reset in the regress "Time is what we want most, but what we use worst." With the Moira in a sort of low maintenance state, Captain Ira and First Mate Egan have been forthright with information at their disposal, and as the weeks have progressed, not much has been answered in terms of what has happened with the ship itself or why some of the crew are informing the Captain and First Mate of Ingresses all across the universes being broken. Early on the 16th, Captain Ira decides that Manasseh has been in cryo long enough to warrant waking her. With that decision comes the restoration of all ship functions—including normal water and power usage. Rationing continues, but it isn’t as strict (or enforced) as it has been the last few weeks. However, the Navigator appears and acts no differently than before, which troubles the Captain, and rather than shut down the Moira’s functions once more, he decides to redouble efforts to contact someone at the Midway Hub. As before, when he first tried, no one answers. Not completely discouraged, Captain Ira orders First Mate Egan and those in both Navigation and the Tower to put out a transmission to anyone with an Ingress in hopes of finding a technician or someone with enough information pertaining to the machinery to perhaps fix the one aboard the Moira long enough to get them to the Midway Hub without having to travel the length of the Runoff. Within the hour, they receive a peculiar return transmission that’s worth investigating since it’s considerably close. During this time, Captain Thán sends the following MID message to all Moirans: Crew, The last few weeks have been hectic, and I'm sure everyone has questions that they need answered. When Captain Ira and First Mate Egan approached us, we asked for evidence of their legitimacy and were given it through credentials, logs, and the private access codes that they had in their possession. It allowed us to see that they were, in fact, the previous leadership of the Moira. Explaining why we took a knee is rather simple. They know what they're doing, and it is clear now, more than ever, that we do not. Every bump in the road that we've met, you have survived because of your own tenacity, and many of the deaths and hardships were our fault in some way. We found this ship unmanned and took it without any skill. It worked, at first, but then, you were all here, and it changed everything. We needed to grow to accommodate, and we weren't fast enough. As captains, we've failed you, but we do believe that Ira and Egan can do so much better. We'll be working with them to make the end of this trip as short as possible. You deserve to go home, and they can make that happen. You also deserve honesty. The blame for the events on Caducus Primary are our burden to carry, not yours. The statues that their people believed had been stolen were on this ship, and we were responsible for them being here. Not long after boarding the Moira, we stopped there and were approached by a person offering us the items at a lower trade rate. We knew that it wasn't strictly by the books, but we did the deal anyway. When those actions came back around, we attempted to remedy them but were not fast enough and many lives were lost. This is one of the reasons we have given leadership rights over. We've done enough damage, and you don't deserve anymore by our hands. For what it's worth, we do apologize for everything, and we'll be staying on the ship until we reach the Midway Hub. -Thán Whether believed or not, the previous Captains can still be found around the ship in their usual places of work. Onward, the Moira goes— WELCOME TO THE LUMINOUS SEA Unlike most places the Moira has come across or visited, the Luminous Sea is thus called due to its soft turquoise glow. While other parts of the Runoff consist of stars and planets, there is no life or anything remotely sentient found within this part of the universe. Yet, the most fascinating thing about the Luminous Sea is not the fact that it appears empty but for the sole reason of why the Captain and First Mate first approached it in the first place: it’s very reminiscent of Ingress energy. The ship is slow to move through the Luminous Sea, all those stationed in the Tower asked to observe and collect data to be sent to Navigation as well as those who have been reassigned to the Ingress. However, even stranger things are afoot the longer the Moira lingers within the ocean of blue-green space... ☄ IN, OUT, AND ALL AROUND Needless to say, things are now a little… different on board thanks to the anomalies caused by the energy of the Luminous Sea. What once had been a simple journey using MPS to navigate your way around the ship has now become a risk in Location Roulette. Perhaps you’re simply planning to head to the library, but when you walk through the door, you’ve somehow ended up in the middle of the Mess Hall. Or you’re fresh from a nice, long shower only to find yourself in the middle of the Cargo Bay wearing nothing but your towel! It seems that the space inside the Moira has rearranged itself to make life interesting for the crew. The changes happen at random and aren’t guaranteed to work the same in reverse. Sometimes, a doorway will work to take you back the correct way, and other times, it might deposit you in yet another part of the ship you hadn’t intended to visit. Also, be wary of those areas of the ship that have been sealed for the protection of the crew and never go anywhere alone. Because nothing good ever came of walking through a door to suddenly end up outside the Moira or within the room that holds Ploiatos. ☄ 50 SHADES OF AGE While in the Luminous Sea, some members of the crew are likely to wake up and find themselves a changed person. Literally. The unstable nature of the energy that encompasses the Sea and its ability to bend both time and space means that those affected by it might find themselves suddenly years younger. Or even older. What’s more, some crew members who do become younger might possess no memories of have ever been on the ship and will see the Moira through brand new eyes. Those who find themselves jumping to a point further down their timeline won’t be affected as harshly, though they will be tarnished with age as time tends to do. What’s best for the new and old alike is to remain calm and continue on their daily routines until otherwise instructed by the Captain and First Mate. A. Apostate the Explorer

[There's a young girl lurking around the edges of the ship. She tries to move swiftly and undercover of corners and doors and various things. She's probably not much older than 16 and she has an awkward and gangly teenage look to her, like someone who suddenly shot up a few inches in an extremely short amount of time and hasn't quite filled out yet. She's clearly thin despite wearing a loose tunic and jacket that look like they belong to one of her parents. And she has a funny walking stick that's all taped up and she doesn't seem to need but is gripping tightly.

But ultimately, she'd be a lot more sneaky if she wasn't soaking wet, constantly sniffling and distracted by nearly everything she comes across. You can find her going through various doors, seemingly unaware that these doors don't always lead where they're supposed to. She'll poke around engineering and the cargo bay, picking up various things, sniffing them, licking them, sneezing on them and pocketing them if they seem interesting.]

B. Hungry Hungry Apostate

[But the real place that Hawke finds to be amazing is the mess hall. Sure, they're rationing right now and most of the food is less than delicious but to Hawke food is food and her family needs it. At first she takes a few things, sits down, crams them into her mouth and eats them as fast as possible. Once she deems them acceptable, she begins to walk around and take anything that doesn't seem to be taken by anyone and shoves it into her bag.

Leia's gaze snaps up to find someone quite a bit older than her is the culprit. Narrowing her eyes, she tries to summon the tone Mother uses when she needs people to obey her word.]

[Okay. She feels a little bad. This girl looks about Bethany's age and she might be a scrappy apostate desperate to survive but she can't steal from a kid. She reaches into her back pocket and produces a nutrient bar.]

Oh was this yours? Sorry. I thought it was someone else's.

[ Actually, he hates pudding.

That nutri-bar was going with him as 'dinner' for later that shift, only when he literally went to grab it about a half second after she'd scooped it off the table.

For a moment, the audacity leaves him stunned, letting her get a few feet away before he called out. ]

That was mine!

[Oh.

She'd pegged him as someone not to catch on. Oh well, no matter. She stops and looks dramatically stunned and whips her head around as if looking for who's being yelled at.]

What? What's going on?

You took my nuti-bar, is what's going on. If you want one, there are plenty up at the counter, [ he pointed in that direction ] you don't have to just take mine.

[ Tony has this habit of becoming so absorbed in his work that he doesn't immediately notice things he probably should, like people intruding where they shouldn't, or touching things they shouldn't. He probably only notices this time because Hawke is managing to do both at once.

He clears his throat from somewhere behind her, as she's inappropriately fondling one of his tools. ]

I'll spare you the trouble and assure you up-front that it's not edible.

[ PLEASE MOVE IT FAR AWAY FROM YOUR MOUTH. ]

[She sniffs and wipes her nose but pulls it away from her mouth. But she keeps it on hand, examining it casually in the light.]

This place is weird. Figured I'd give it a shot.

[ He's gonna have to waste so much time disinfecting all his shit later!!! ]

And here I thought the "shove every strange object directly into my mouth" impulse faded during infancy.

[MY OH MY WHAT DIDN'T SHE SNEEZE ON. Still at the jab, she raises her eyebrows and flips the tool through her fingers with an easy leisure.]

I also thought that boys usually stopped playing with toys once they were grown. The world is full of surprises today.

[Since getting jumped in the hallway by a certain ex-best-friend-slash-ghost, 76 is on even higher alert than usual, which is saying something for someone who mostly just runs on paranoia and pure, unadulterated rage. What do you do when you run on paranoia and rage and there's an ex-best-friend-slash ghost that needs killing? You go for a walk with your gun. The cargo bay seems like a good place to start.

He hears her before he sees her, and he doesn't need his visor to pinpoint her location. If she's trying to be sneaky, it's not working, and he's quick to come to a halt, tilting his head ever-so-slightly in the direction of the noise.]

I know you're there.

[A sneeze before a reply comes from behind a stack of large boxes.]

"There" isn't a very exact location.

Behind the boxes.

[He’s onto you, shady child! The sneeze sort of indicates that they’re either very unfortunate, or not trying too hard to be stealthy, so he lowers his rifle a little, having assessed that they’re probably not a threat.

His footsteps are heavy, and it takes only a few of them before he’s peering around her corner.]

[Hawke sniffles and wipes her nose on her sleeve before standing up to observe her attacker with an expression between a grin and a scowl.]

Most enemies aren't going to sneeze. Unfair advantage.

[Why is this girl wet? And walking with a stick? Is she blind? Does she have back problems? Leo's starting to feel concerned just watching her siddle around, dripping everywhere and putting strange objects in her mouth. She's-- a teenager, like him, but he can't help but feel a little responsible. Particularly if she's licking everything.]

Ummm... if you're looking for food, I can show you to the mess hall...?

[It's more of a question than an offer]

There's food in a messy hall? [She drops what she's currently examining and gives this boy a look. In her experience, an odd and unique experience honestly, most kids her age don't really know much. They go to school or they work in their parents shop or farm but they don't really take care of themselves like she does.]

This place really is an oddity.

Well, we are in space. I think it's supposed to be odd.

[If it helps, he seems almost as lost as she is. A relative newbie, Leo's still figuring out where everything goes and how everything works and it's a wonder that he knows where to find food at all]

But they have real food there. Well, realer food than anything you'll find lying around here.

[It's honestly pretty worrying that this girl is just picking off things off the ground, presumably trying to eat them] It's-- this way, I think.

How did we get here? I'm pretty sure people don't tend to wander off into the sky. Or at least not when I last checked.

[She sniffles and steps forward, preparing to follow him. He doesn't seem like he's going to attack and she's purposefully kept her tone light and even despite any possible concerns about ending up in space.]

[Marian whips around to observe the voice from the shadows. Looks like... Well she doesn't exactly know. Something in a swamp probably. Her hand moves to her staff before she stops herself. There's a lot of weird people here and thus far none hostile so best just wait before showing her hand.]

Huh?

[Oh, it's a joke. Okay, she gets it. A sniffle and a shrug.]

I guess you could say that.

Then it may be beneficial to locate some dry clothes as soon as you can. If you'll forgive me for saying so, you don't look as if you're feeling very well.

[WELL. He's... not wrong. About the swamps anyway. Still, she's giving him a look because she doesn't really know what to make of all this.]

I like these clothes. [They're the only clothes she has, actually.] And I'm fine. My nose is just runny in this weird place. [It's a terrible lie but she's committed to it.]
