"I want the world to be fragile. There is no place to hide a dark heart."
☄ Step 1: Negotiate & Infiltrate With this part of the plan enacted, a small number of those who have volunteered to attempt negotiations have been heard by the Caducans and have been temporarily “invited” to board their vessel. However, due to this highly stressful situation, a portion of the offensive team have been asked to accompany them in order to disable as much of the opposing ship and its crew to force them to evacuate onto the Moira. Regardless of time and what reparations are offered, negotiations ultimately fail. The Caducans want the debt of their planet to be paid by the people of the Moira with their very lives. While boarded with the Caducans, they will attempt to incapacitate the negotiation party through violent means, and it will be the responsibility of this particular team to attempt disengage the Caducans’ ship to prevent it from attacking the Moira. However, despite all efforts to sabotage their systems, the ship itself shuts its primary units into Lockdown Mode. Meanwhile, back on the Moira, the crew must work to secure the ship against the incoming assault by the Caducans after having left their ship via emergency escape units. This means that some of the defense team will have disabled the gunnery to make it look as if the Moira is defenseless and secure the rest of the area with those on the offense team. There is no place for mercy; the Caducans will board the ship through the Cargo Bay. They are not interested in granting it to the crew after all the losses they suffered at Caducus Primary. The only choice will be to fight for their lives (kill or be killed) or find a way to lure the Caducans into the Ingress room to send them to some unknown place where they will no longer be a threat. The Captains have given all members of the crew leave to use whatever means necessary to protect both themselves and the ship’s systems from the invaders. Failure is not an option. |

"Fuck, mate. You alright?"
He drops to his knees beside them, hands outstretched to try and find out where the blood's coming from. Eggsy sees that his hands have turned to glass, and he raises his eyes slowly to meet the strangers. He's not sure what to say or do other than to offer some help of some kind.
"Wanna go to medical?"
no subject
Accepting help from anyone is difficult, especially someone Len doesn't know. But sitting here in the hallway isn't doing him any good, and he obviously isn't going anywhere under his own power soon. "Probably ain't a bad idea," he says slowly. But what can anyone in the medbay do about limbs that have transformed into glass? He flexes his fingers briefly, suppressing a wince as the joints grind and shift.
no subject
"Let's go, yeah?"
He stands up quickly, looking at the stranger briefly before making a decision. Eggsy tugs his jacket off, then bends down to help the man stand up with a hand to his back and elbow. Once standing, he'll shake out his jacket a bit to get his attention.
"I dunno what's goin' on, but them hands of yours look breakable as fuck. We should wrap 'em up or somethin'. Just till we get to Medbay."
no subject
It takes him a moment to register what the man is proposing; odd, for him, to be non-observant. He must have hit his head harder than he thought. He considers, but shakes his head, tucking his glass hands under his arms. "I'll take my chances, thanks." Having his hands bound up, even loosely, is not something he'd particularly care to do.
A pause... hopefully this kid won't press the issue. "You got a name, kid?"
no subject
He's not one to force anyone to do anything they don't want to do, especially not when they've just gone through something this serious.
"Eggsy Unwin. Nice to meet ya."
He slips his jacket back on, gesturing towards his own head before taking a step down the hall. The upper portion of his hair has turned to glass, it doesn't hurt, but his head feels heavy and he's off balance. Eggsy stays close, but tries not to crowd Len.
"I got lucky. Well, least I think I did. Only my hair's gone glassy."
no subject
Glancing over, he nods fractionally at Eggsy's mention of his own glass transformation. "Yeah, looks like you got off easy. It happening to a lot of people 'round here?" If this was widespread, surely there would be some remedy, something to be done about it. Len won't start to think about what might happen if his hands are... like this, permanently. He can't. It's not possible.
no subject
Eggsy runs his hand over his hair, flinching despite the fact that it's not actually painful, just strange. He figures he got off easy, sure, but he still has no idea what's going on or why.
"I dunno how deep the glass goes and my head's heavy, but it don't hurt so I count that a win, yeah?"
no subject
He glances over at Eggsy's head and smirks a bit, trying to focus on something besides the pain in his own arms. "Could always shave your head."
no subject
To Eggsy, that's the most important thing. Secure the other crew, eliminate the threat, then ask all the questions he can think of no matter how annoyed they might become.
"With what? Need some kind of fuckin' glass cutting saw and then who knows what might happen." Eggsy pulls away, expression mock scandalized, hand clutching his chest. "What if they make it uneven?"
no subject
Eggsy's antics pull a slight chuckle from Len and he shakes his head. "That'd be a terrible tragedy, I'm sure. Least it looks kinda cool now."
They round the corner toward the medbay and are immediately stopped by the crowd that has formed outside the doors. It's overflowing, people in far worse shape than Len sitting on the floor, others lying down, the few that are standing looking dazed at the parts of themselves that have transformed into glass. Beyond the doors, from what Len can glimpse, he can see that the interior is completely packed, every bed full, the harried medbay staff rushing back and forth.
He takes two full steps back before he even registers that he's done so. "Think I'll pass on this."
no subject
"Fuck," he whispers, voice low and incredulous.
He'd figured it'd be bad, but not quite like this. Eggsy turns towards Leonard, reaching out automatically.
"Don't go, yeah? M'sure we can find someone to help out. If not here, then somewhere else."
no subject
He shakes his head, a quick, jerky motion. "Not here. Don't need it. I'll be fine." Never mind that there's blood still crusting over his forehead and he's still dizzy as hell and oh yeah his goddamn hands have turned to glass. Not exactly something he can stitch up on his own.
