"I want the world to be fragile. There is no place to hide a dark heart."
☄ Step 1: Negotiate & Infiltrate With this part of the plan enacted, a small number of those who have volunteered to attempt negotiations have been heard by the Caducans and have been temporarily “invited” to board their vessel. However, due to this highly stressful situation, a portion of the offensive team have been asked to accompany them in order to disable as much of the opposing ship and its crew to force them to evacuate onto the Moira. Regardless of time and what reparations are offered, negotiations ultimately fail. The Caducans want the debt of their planet to be paid by the people of the Moira with their very lives. While boarded with the Caducans, they will attempt to incapacitate the negotiation party through violent means, and it will be the responsibility of this particular team to attempt disengage the Caducans’ ship to prevent it from attacking the Moira. However, despite all efforts to sabotage their systems, the ship itself shuts its primary units into Lockdown Mode. Meanwhile, back on the Moira, the crew must work to secure the ship against the incoming assault by the Caducans after having left their ship via emergency escape units. This means that some of the defense team will have disabled the gunnery to make it look as if the Moira is defenseless and secure the rest of the area with those on the offense team. There is no place for mercy; the Caducans will board the ship through the Cargo Bay. They are not interested in granting it to the crew after all the losses they suffered at Caducus Primary. The only choice will be to fight for their lives (kill or be killed) or find a way to lure the Caducans into the Ingress room to send them to some unknown place where they will no longer be a threat. The Captains have given all members of the crew leave to use whatever means necessary to protect both themselves and the ship’s systems from the invaders. Failure is not an option. |

And yet he soon finds himself at the medbay anyway, stopping in front of a guy who seems to have a similar problem. He doesn't say anything either, but he does frown when he catches sight of that glass eye. He'd been worried about potentially breaking his hands, but an eye? Somehow, he hadn't even considered it. This whole situation just keeps getting more and more screwed up.]

He's not a biologist.
When Snake hears someone else approaching, he pulls his sleeve down to cover up his arm, the gloves he's wearing doing the rest of the work. The guy already saw, but it's not something he could hope to keep to himself for long anyway.
Besides, they're in the same boat there. At least one of Snake's hands is still normal. ]
I'm getting the feeling that fixing this is probably above their pay grade. [ Said while cocking his head toward the medbay door. ]
no subject
Yeah, seems that way.
[He glances at the door.]
Not too sure what they've had to deal with before, though. Haven't been here all that long.
[So for all he knows, glass limbs are an easy fix.]
no subject
Not to mention he hasn't decided how to handle his arm yet. Should he see if it can be strengthened so that it's more durable? Or should he do away with the glass entirely and replace it with a prosthetic? ]
Well, if you're going in, let me know what they tell you. [ A beat. ] I'm Snake.
[ It should be a little easier to distinguish him from the others with that name now that one is gone and the other is dead. ]
no subject
Probably got enough to deal with right now. Thought if I found the medbay someone could help, but... now I'm not so sure.
[Maybe he just wanted to distract himself. Give himself a goal. Finding the medbay and focusing on that seemed like a better idea than wandering aimlessly. He tilts his head at the name.]
I'm Boone. You know a guy called Liquid Snake?
no subject
Although that question instantly causes a sour look to take over Snake's face. ]
Yeah, he's my... [ He pauses and decides to rephrase. ] We're twins. So if you think there's a resemblance, that's why. [ It hasn't been something that's come up recently, either because they run in different circles or because most people can't see past the differing hair colors. ]
no subject
Huh.
[He's going to guess they're not on the best of terms, from the look on Snake's face. It's not really his business though, so he won't ask.]
You get pulled in around the same time?
[It's interesting that both Snake and Liquid are here. It seems like a lot of the people here know each other somehow, from before they ended up here. Maybe the whole thing isn't as random as it seems.
Or maybe he's just overthinking things and it's all a huge coincidence. He doesn't know how the hell space kidnapping works.]

Snake shakes his head at that question, shifting his weight until he's leaned up against the wall. His glass arm hangs uselessly at his side while he digs in his pocket for his pack of cigarettes with the other. ]
No, I got here before him by a few months. For a while I didn't know anyone here, then people from home started streaming in, some of them from different periods in time.
[ Once he's got a cigarette in hand, he places it between his lips, takes out his lighter, and holds the flame up to the tip of the cigarette. Once it's lit, he tucks the lighter away and looks back to Boone. ] How about you? Got anyone else here that you know from home?
no subject
[And he does feel badly for her, for that. Especially since it seems like she helped him a whole lot, the same way Elle did. After a moment, he decides to follow Snake's lead, pulling out a cigarette and lighting one. At least his hands work. They're glass, but he can use them if he's careful.]
Surely came in around the same time I did. Elle said she's been here longer, though.
no subject
Still, this helps solidify another corner of the crew for him. Boone, Elle, Surely, all from the same world, or maybe different versions of one. ]
Yeah, Elle's definitely been here at least a few months. Haven't spoken to her before, but I've seen her around. [ She seems like she wants to help, at least. Snake can't argue too much with that.
There's a quiet nod of approval when Boone pulls out his own smoke. It's always good to know who Snake can enjoy a cigarette with, if he's in the mood for that. ] So what's the name of the place you're from? [ Snake watches as Boone's glass fingers carefully curl around his cigarette as he leans up against the wall. ]
