Uh, this way. Or wherever.
[It doesn't truly matter at this point, not when nowhere is completely safe.]
You coming with me?
no subject
The answer comes to him rather quickly- there's four more creatures to their left, and only two to their right. Time to take the path less occupied.]
Yes, but- we should go right. Less company that way.
[He doesn't explain why or how he knows, he simply moves, expecting Nate to follow after him. Arno easily forgets that no one knows about his sight, or that he can see things through walls; but even if he were to try and explain it to Nate, they simply wouldn't have time.
He does, however, ask another question.]
How are you looking on ammunition?
[It's rather important that they at least know how well they're supplied in this case.]
no subject
That doesn't stop him from eyeing Arno's back curiously, or wondering how, precisely, he knows where the company is. Had he come that way and seen it firsthand? Nate can't remember now.]
I'm doing all right. Trying not to squander it, but I stocked up.
[Some he'd taken from the Caducans months ago, some he'd bought on the appropriate planets, some he'd stolen.]
Be nice if there were ever an end to these things. I don't think I'd do as well as you with a sword.
no subject
I can say you've had better luck than I, then. Finding things for an old revolver is much more difficult when you're behind in the times. [He pulls the French revolver from its holster and shows it to Nate, not for bragging rights- but just to imply the differences they both have.] I'm not exactly sure it would be wise for me to try the modern version.
[It's said jokingly, and he places it back, moving forward.
Still, there is a sense of unease as he approaches the end of the hallway, and a hand moves back to signal Nate to hold. Arno glances left and then right, using his Eagle Vision again to pinpoint where exactly the Descendants are. There's a few traipsing along towards them, while going down to the other end means possibly more danger than just the two incoming.]
There's two of them. [He looks back to the other now, brow furrowing.] They're making their way down the hall, and I'm not exactly sure if we can slip by without them noticing.
[For all he knows, they could have some supernatural power that he's unaware of.] Should we take them? The hall seems clear otherwise.
no subject
How did you—
[All that from a glance? Arno's apparently even sharper than Nate realized. But...there's something off here, something he can't put his finger one. Whatever it is, it can wait.]
We might be able to get by, but they'll just go after someone else. Do you want to find a safe place, or do you want to try and make sure there are fewer of these things? No judgment.
no subject
Instead, he listens to what the other says, and then shakes his head.]
If we can keep others safe, I'd suggest going after them. Some people on the ship can't exactly defend themselves.
[And he's not about to let other people get hurt. Not when he can actually do something about it.]
no subject
[He'll ask Arno about this later. Or not--the man's allowed his secrets, and Nate isn't always one to pry. He raises his gun, arm steady.]
You take point? Since you seem to know exactly where they are.
no subject
He's quick, for starters. Arno wastes no time charging headlong towards the two Descendants before sliding right down onto his knees, using his momentum to move forward and slip an arm under one of its legs and topple it to the floor. But the Descendant is a lot different from a human, and almost pulls him off his knees as it tries to scramble back up. Arno lets out a yelp of surprise as he nearly loses all his footing, rolling away and slicing at a hand that gets too close with his hidden blade.
Meanwhile, the other Descendant's about ready to pounce on his head.]
Nate, now would be a good time!
[He could use a little help here, bud.]
no subject
But the screech of the Descendant startles him into action, and he's already scrambling when Arno shouts.]
On it!
[And he is, gun raising, aiming and then firing right at the creature's head.]
