"I dunno about space rocks, I don't think she'd like a space rock. Plus, I used to work on space bridges, space rocks are so boring," he starts, considering what she said.

"Maybe I'll get to fight some weird alien monsters!"

"Earth rocks are boring as well, but some people seemed to find them fascinating. Just throwing out ideas is all."

She just looks at him in part worry and part amusement at that declaration.

"Don't get too much over your head there kid. Wouldn't want to explain to a medic why you're missing an arm or anything now would we?"

"--My name's Bumblebee, not kid," he throws back, looking a little frustrated at the nickname. Kid is one step away from tiny, but it's not like they'd actually introduced each other. "And fighting monsters and bad guys is what I do! Way more fun than looking at rocks."

He grins up at her before belatedly remembering manners.

"Oh, what's your name?"

Well she pauses for a moment at that name coming out of his mouth. She hadn't expected that and if it made her miss home a little she smothers that feeling before it can be seen.

"Okay, Bumblebee. I'm just being cautious. Some people would play for keeps, and you never know what might be out there that's going to be better or stronger than you in a fight. You have to make it back to tell Sari all of your tales after all."

If her tone has that tired and knowing tone to it that's just coincidence.

"I'm Arcee. Nice to meet you fellow crewmember."

The young bot snorts, as if she knew what he did back home!

"I fight bad guys back home all the time! We're kinda heroes, and y'know. A big deal. It's not my fault if people underestimate me and get their afts kicked!" he protests, pushing his chassis out a little. He's definitely small enough for Arcee to assume that's a very broad statement. In fact, Bumblebee usually runs into fights without thinking about the consequences very much and is rescued by bots stronger than he is. But he's not about to say all that.

"Hah, yeah. I mean, I'm hoping that Bulkhead can lock onto my coordinates with... this," he picks the plasmadynamic thruster up again and gives it a shake, which causes it to spark. "It's part of a space bridge. And what teleported me here. So I'm not exactly planning on being here long."

She'd still be a bit unbelieving even if she did know, and that grandstanding reminds her of Smokescreen a little too much for her to take him completely seriously. But, trying to argue that point would just be pointless. It sure never worked on the rookie, and she's starting to see that this Bumblebee was just as stubborn as the Bee she knew when he decided something.

"I don't think it's to blame for you being here."

She's watching that sparking with a little dread because that thing is likely going to spark at a very bad time considering all the organics on this ship if he keeps shaking it like that.

"Most of those here wouldn't even know what a space bridge is, let alone have the ability to make one. Though, the fact you have it could mean it will help you get home. Most of us didn't show up here with such things."

She doubts it, but she doesn't want to take away his hope that harshly.

Bumblebee looks down at the device as she talks about it, frowning at it as it sparks. It probably isn't why he's here, in all honesty, but hanging onto that hope is what's been getting him through today. Not everyone could've been transported here by a broken space bridge part. But maybe he was. Maybe he was here by accident.

"I didn't think Bulkhead knew how to build one but apparently he's the number one expert in the galaxy," he throws one of his hands up to gesture with it, letting that sink in for a few seconds. "I dunno about the Bulk you know, but that wasn't exactly something we were expecting."

"Bulk freely admits he was just a humble construction worker before the war, he wouldn't even believe someone saying he could build a space bridge. Your friend has more depth to him then it seems."

She realizes her talk about their being here isn't helping and tries to get away from it. She's not used to dealing with those not used to having no real hope in a situation.
