Saying that this has all been a lot to process may actually be a bit of an understatement. One minute Nick is in Zootopia, enjoying a day off, and the next he’s… in space apparently. With a bunch of strange nearly-hairless mammals and also robots and who knows what else, and evidently nobody can guarantee when he’s going home.
So. That’s… not great.
In a way, the subsequent announcement that they’re going to be stopping by some kind of outer space resort and everyone is REQUIRED to go enjoy themselves almost seems to add insult to injury - but really, what’s he going to do, not go hang out on a beach? There are, after all, worse things to do while fending off an impending existential crisis over the whole multiverse situation.
Nick spends most of his time on the beach hanging around on a beach chair, sipping a drink from one of the restaurants. How he manages to sip with a muzzle is anyone’s guess. Actually, he seems pretty much disinterested from doing anything involving actual activity, so feel free to try to get him more active or just harass him where he is.

"Ah, excuse me, would it be alright if I settle here?" Nick's idle relaxation is quickly thwarted by Toriel's approach. She had a spot by the sea earlier, but given the rising tides and her children going off on their own she thought it best to move.
She motions at a spot nearby, not too close but the goat looking boss monster still has to ask. She smiles from under her large sunhat back at the fox. "If not, I understand." She adds, not wanting to pressure the young man. Everyone deserves some time to relax.
She chuckles at most at his response, setting out a blanket and setting her umbrella at a angle to offer her some protection from the sun.
When Nick speaks, Toriel glances back over her smile brightening a touch. Whilst he didn't seem like a monster, it was true enough. "You are quite right on that, dear. There is many, many humans and robots present." She brushes a hand against her towel, smoothing out a bit further as she reclines a little. "I take it you are new? I am Toriel."
Toriel laughs lightly at that, certainly understanding Nick's feelings on the issue. Most monsters hadn't seen a human up close for centuries beyond what they salvaged from the garbage.
"It is very overwhelming initially. I'm surprised my son wasn't as startled by all the people when he first arrived here." Chara had really been his only baseline before hand and Chara was their own classification.
"Have you been settling in well? Even with this vacation, we're all expected to do jobs on board." She shakes her head a little, "I don't mind my own work, but it can be a bit disorienting."
"Huh. Good for him, then - for not freaking out and for having his mom around; that must make things a little easier. ...Unless he's a teenager, in which case who can say."
He gives a lopsided shrug. "Could be worse; I mean, I don't exactly have a lot of experience with welding, but I think I'm picking it up okay."
That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but hey, he hasn't set anything on fire yet except for scorching his tail a bit but nothing has ignited.
Toriel snorts faintly at that, Nick earns himself an amused kind of smile. "Thankfully he hasn't hit that stage of his life yet." Though Toriel doesn't mind the thought of seeing Asriel turn into a teenager, emotional chaos or not.
"Given some time you can always transfer to a new job. Some people do end up in the wrong places from time to time." She offers in turn, "A friend of mine did as such since his job was more based on what he was opposed to his interests."
She smiles at the question, clearly more than happy to discuss her job. The boss monster is clearly enthused to say the least. "I am underage crew caretaker, I help care for the children aboard the ship. It usually means I make sure they are fed and attempt to go to school."
"Yeah? Thanks for the tip, might be good to look into that if things don't work out." Maybe he can try and get a job in... security or diplomacy or something. Or food service. He does technically have experience in that, right?
Nick nods thoughtfully. "Yeah? Sounds like that could be a big job. ...How many kids are on this thing, anyway?"
we'll pretend i know how many kids are on board lmao
"Hopefully things go smoothly on that front, there are so many things to do on the ship jobs are always changing."
Toriel rattles off the number easily, clearly having a decent grip on how many children are aboard the ship currently. The number itself is quite a bit to handle for one woman. "I can't take care of every child as well as I want to, but I do try."
Nick gives a low whistle. Yep. Big job. "You sure this is a space ship and not just a big elementary school? Granted, not a very effective one, if they've only got one crew member in charge of watching the kids."

When he does actually open his eyes, though, he raises an eyebrow slightly. "--Hey, someone else with fur. Don't seem to be a lot of us around here."
He's still getting used to that okayno subject
