september overflow log

This is an overflow for the first September Event Log.
for big Nate - exploration
[His Limit Break giving Zombie status finally makes sense, and that sudden understanding shows on his face. He's about to mention this before his older self mentions Sir Francis, making his jaw drop instead.]
... damn. [Is about all he can manage.]
no subject
Yeah. That about sums it up.
no subject
Glad he didn't turn into a zombie. Imagine having to take out Drake.
[He could have done it, but he would have been crushed.]
no subject
The whole experience was pretty gross. But memorable.
no subject
Yeah, I bet.
[As they approach a tangle of vines with no apparent way around, Nate grimaces and unsheathes his gunblade.]
Had to do this on a field trip once.
no subject
[Sounds like a cool field trip, honestly.]
Not the most fun part of exploration, but you take the bad with the good.
no subject
[As he starts hacking through the vines, he adds over his shoulder:] Glad we haven't seen anything like that so far.
[Just fog, low enough on the ground that it's probably not hiding anything. For now.]
no subject
[Not that he has experience with those. Well, kind of; the Descendants were more like monsterized humans. But he feels safe assuming that monster fights in general are bad.]
What kind of monsters did you have to deal with?
no subject
[About to namedrop, he has to stop himself and make sure he describes them instead.]
Big, carnivorous caterpillars... These huge blue bugs that really like biting you... The odd T-Rexaur.
no subject
Hold on, you fought dinosaurs?
no subject
no subject
no subject
Yeah, I guess.
[He brightens a little as he remembers that what's not exactly ordinary, at least half expected to him is not for someone who's only been on their world and the ship, and then adds:]
They weren't dinosaurs like on our world, from millions of years ago, though. Monsters were from the moon.
Usually.
no subject
[He sounds like he might even be half-serious.]
We run into any alien dinosaurs here, then, I'm relying on you.
no subject
[Nate grins.] Yeah, sure, but the zombies are probably more your department.
What other 'fun' [or actual fun, he's not picky] stuff do I have to look forward to?
no subject
One time this guy hired me to find the third piece of treasure in a set, but he didn't even realize it was already in a statue he had in his safe. Until we broke in to grab it ourselves, anyway.
no subject
How stupid was this guy?
no subject
[Nate shrugs.]
People like that make good clients. Wouldn't be much work for me if they could do it all themselves.
no subject
You'd still have the people who're too rich and lazy and scared of danger to do it themselves.

I wanted to do that, back on the other world. Figured there'd be a market for it somewhere. I was just going to stick around Garden to pick up what I needed to about the world and the history. [Also, the free food.] But it kinda grew on me.
no subject
[He's not anti-school. Just anti-everything that came with it, for him.]
no subject
But it's nice to try and get back to the treasure. [If there's anything out in this jungle.]
no subject
[It's like he read his mind. Like they're the same person.]
