"Big things have small beginnings."
☄ DECONTAMINATION #2 ( 04.14 - 04.17 ) On the Moira, crew come and go without much hassle. They take a transporter to planets and moons and back again without any fuss... Until today. All crew that try to reboard the Moira coming back from Del Pascia will be denied access, a warning flashing on their MID - Decontamination Required for Entry. It’s a protocol that hasn’t been enacted before, and the MID offers no explanation as to why it is now. The transporter will seal and then be permitted to dock in the Cargo Bay, where the procedure will begin. All crew on the transporter have to dispose of their clothing by placing it inside hazardous waste bags located in a compartment near the front of the craft. After all clothing is stored, a gas-like substance will fill the transporter, breathable yet tasteless, and once it dissipates, crew will be free to go. ☄ D.ON'T E.VER L.EAVE ( 04.18 - 04.23 ) After the decontamination procedures for the Moira go off, the captains issue a ship-wide alert to let the crew know that the ship is picking up on something inside each person that boarded the space station. It is speculated that the crew came in contact with an unknown biological contaminant either during the station’s decontamination procedure or sometime after. At this point, they aren’t aware of what will happen to those that are carrying the contaminant, and the captains ask for anybody with experience to head to the Medbay to begin testing. Crew don’t appear to be in any danger, so they are allowed to continue gathering materials and supplies on board the space station at their discretion. (Every time they come and go, they will be made to go through the procedure described above). ☄ FEAR ME, LOVE ME, DO AS I SAY ( 04.24 - 04.28 ) Like most unfortunate things, it seems everything happens all at once. The noises you heard, a step falling moments after yours or a rattle coming from the vents, become louder. You can’t place where they are coming from at first. You turn, you follow, but the search yields no results. And then, without any warning, it’s crystal clear as “they” begin to creep and move from within the shadows and ruined sections of Del Pascia: the prisoners and workers said to have been relocated by D-E-L. Their voice is one, regardless of how many gather, and they tell you, “You can be happy here” and “I can make you better” shortly after. As always, fearing for the safety of the crew (and despite the disrepair of the Moira from events prior), the captains ask for all those capable to assist with extracting those aboard Del Pascia as quickly as possible before D-E-L tries to lock them inside. Running, after all, is better than dying, and it’s certainly something everyone aboard the Moira has gotten quite good at. |
C!
When he spots a familiar blonde man, Ocelot walks over to him, spurs chiming with his steps. In his right hand is a bloody pipe that was used to 'persuade' some of the residents to leave him alone.]
I'm not saying and neither are you. Get up, Eli.
Re: C!
[It's muttered, quiet, like he's not as committed to it as he normally is. Much less hostile, a clear sign of something being wrong. Not that he's noticed just yet, as much as he's instinctively trying to fight the place's influence.]
Why not? We aren't going to need anything here. You should stay.
[It's like his POW days all over again, only easier.]
er... staying. augh typos.
[Liquid fought against death, or so the story goes. Ocelot doesn't think he'll surrender himself here. He just needs a little reminder of that. He's tough enough to fight this. If not, Ocelot will just drag his ass back to the ship.]
close enough
[That's what D-E-L said, after all. Who he should really not be believing, but logic isn't exactly on his mind right now. Not much is, really. Just some blank thoughts about how he should really be helping people reach the depths of the station.
That, and the underlying fight.]
Haven't you heard? Everything we'll ever want is here.
no subject
[Yes he's using that name to get under Liquid's skin. If he rebels against that name, maybe those feelings will tumble into rebelling against the station that has a hold on his mind.]
To sit here and do nothing? Is that the same man who took action where we came from?
no subject
Don't call me that. I want to stay here. Everyone should want to stay here.
[No he doesn't, but he can't seem to articulate that right now.]
Am I not allowed to change my mind?
no subject
[Now Ocelot was just insulting him, it would seem.]
no subject
[Insults? Well, it almost gets to him. But the station's influence is still strong, apparently.]
We're not weak. You should understand.
no subject
[He looks at Liquid with what can only be described as disgust.]
Now are you going to sit here with the dead? Or are you going to prove that you're strong enough to go on? Get UP, Eli.
no subject
I'm strong enough to do what I need to do. I need to stay here. This is where I belong. Where we belong. The ship. All of us.
Don't you see?
no subject
Maybe you're right.
[He nods a few more times. Yes, this could be best after all. Sure it could. What could be wrong about being stuck on this prison until they die or end up just like the prisoners?
The way he responds is at least convincing. Maybe it's convincing enough that Eli won't see it come it when Ocelot tries to deck him with a punch to the face. The hope is to just knock him out so he can carry the kid back to the Moira.]
no subject
[God, it hurts him to say that. Liquid, who lives to fight, talking about not fighting? But he can't stop. Can't tell which thougts are his own and which are the station's. Can't fight. Has to fight.
He barely notices that Ocelot sends a punch to his face, but he ducks anyway, barreling forward as if to tackle him, blank look still on his face.]
Don't make this difficult.
no subject
When Liquid barrels toward him, Ocelot tries to grab and twist, attempting to send the man onto the ground. He might have lost a fight to Big Boss recently, but that doesn't mean Ocelot isn't a damn good fighter.]
I'm makin' it difficult.
[Then he tries to follow the move up with another punch.]
no subject
[There's nothing like passion in the way he's fighting, nothing to suggest that this is what he was made for. He stares blankly straight ahead as he tries to dodge Ocelot's move. He manages to get upright almost immediately, just in time for the punch to hit him. But he shrugs it off. Keeps going.]
This is--
[He breaks off, staring at Ocelot with more comprehension for a moment. He's got every reason not to like him, but nobody should be going through what he's going through.]
Don't let them-- us-- get you. Get out. I'll... I'll...
[He grits his teeth and tries to grab him again. He's trying.]
no subject
Liquid is not a man who wants to be down on the ground. He wants to rise and show his greatness. Ocelot hopes it's just a matter of time until that rage comes back to him.]
You'll do what? You're pathetic.
no subject
Oh, that hits something alright. Here he is, trying to warn him the best he can with whatever hold the station's got on his mind, and Ocelot calls him what?]
No more pathetic than you, refusing to stay when there's everything for you here.
[Despite the concept of his words, his voice spits hatred. Keep going, Ocelot, it seems to be helping.]
Go, then. Leave. Before it's... too late.
no subject
So you want everything handed to you? You're no fighter. You're weak.
[With Liquid on the ground, Ocelot tries to kick him in the stomach with the toe of his boot.]
You've always been weak, Eli.
no subject
Shut up!
[Oh, the passion in fighting's there now, and he kicks and thrashes until he can get himself back up on his feet. His fists are clenched as tightly as possible and he advances towards Ocelot in slow, heavy steps.]
What do you know? You think you know what I've seen? What I've been through? How dare you call me weak?
[There's no trace of the blank expression from earlier. Only fury.]
I was created to be weak, but I've surpassed that. Don't forget it.
no subject
I won't forget it. Good to have you back, Boss.
no subject
Ugh. Suppose that's one kind of awakening. Guess I should thank you.
[An understatement, for sure. He's silent for a moment, and when he speaks, he at least looks a little amused, although sort of tired too.]
I won't be your boss for quite some time, you know.
no subject
Now or later, I don't see the difference.
[Ocelot has always worked for multiple bosses at the same time. The GRU. The CIA. The Patriots. Diamond Dogs. What's the difference if there's one more?]
no subject
Guess that's one way of looking at it. That mean I get to tell you what to do then?
[He laughs. Everything seems funnier when you get out of something like that.]
no subject
[Ocelot jokes, glad to see that Liquid is back to his old self again. This place was so good at playing mind games, even Ocelot had to give it credit for what it was capable of doing to both guests and prisoners.]
How about we get back to the ship before you decide you want to retire here a second time.
no subject
[he jokes right back. He wonders for a moment if maybe he should stay on the station, but he pushes the AI's influence down again.]
That's... probably a good idea, yes. I can already feel it trying to get to me again. Let's get the hell out of here.
