I N T R O L O G

slammed & counted "I feel liberated when I'm doing it, and I want other people to feel liberated through it." The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay. Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and offered a contract to sign that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters. With the combined efforts of the crew, the terror plaguing the ship has been successfully removed from the Moira. Yet, it doesn’t come without consequences. Aside from the overall state of those aboard the ship, the Moira itself has taken considerable damage across various sections. Overall functionality seems stable for now, but with necessary repairs to be made and few supplies to actually make them with, the Captains have set a course for any nearby planet with the hope of finding what they need. However, that is much closer than it appears. As new arrivals begin coming through the Ingress, a message is received by those in the Tower and broadcast to everyone: Please be advised. Your vessel is now entering Restricted Space. As per penal code 65208-A, only authorized personnel are to be admitted beyond this point. If necessary, further assistance will be provided once docked. As there is little choice, the Captains instruct Navigation to proceed with caution. All transporters will be required to assist in taking those who volunteer to the main hub. WELCOME TO CORRECTIONAL FACILITY DEL PASCIA Del Pascia is one of many facilities across the universe built to maintain and rehabilitate its inhabitants. With a combined populace of both prisoners and employed civilians, it functions as both prison and living quarters. The central section of Del Pascia is divided into multiple floors that branch out into subdivisions of the facility—clearly and precisely labeled. For those contracted to work in the prison, Del Pas Main is home. There are cafeterias, common areas for exercise and general downtime, divided residences, and work stations. Beyond this area, each remaining wing of Del Pascia separates into cell blocks A through F with similar facilities available to the inmates. Varying degrees of criminals are brought to Del Pascia, ranging from maximum security to juvenile offenders, and security differs depending on which block is visited. Yet, there is something peculiar about this prison upon further investigation: there are no living persons within Del Pascia. The AI, which runs and oversees all of Del Pascia, has made arrangements with the Moira so that those who wish may board and take what is needed to begin repairs. This program, while generally polite in nature, goes simply by the name D-E-L. ☄ ENJOY YOUR STAY ... IN PRISON Those who choose to go to Del Pascia will find themselves greeted by D-E-L. It has already agreed to terms with the Captains, allowing crew to strip nonessential supplies that aren’t needed since the station’s crew and prisoners were relocated due to funding cuts. The only condition placed upon this agreement is that any crew wishing to explore must undergo a mandatory decontamination before proceeding through the rest of Del Pascia. This process takes only minutes and is guaranteed to cause no physical side effects. Following this simple procedure, exploration is open with only warnings to be careful about damaging key systems. It is important to note that there are various security cameras located throughout the correctional facility, and it is not uncommon for D-E-L to comment or show concern for those exploring parts of Del Pascia. ☄ DEATH BECOMES YOU There is salvage to be found in all parts of the facility, including the cell blocks and infirmaries of the prison wings. However, there is something odd about these sectors, a strange charge in the air that follows you as you search for anything useful to bring back to the Moira. Perhaps it is the eyes of D-E-L watching? But then, after an indiscernible amount of time, it's like a switch is flipped. Suddenly, you are wearing your sins where anyone but you can see. For however much death you have wrought or committed, there will be blood on your hands—perhaps even further than that. This bizarre occurrence will appear as an almost digital skin and will not vanish until outside the cell blocks. If exploring the infirmaries for supplies, any and all health stats throughout your life will be visible and easy to read by anyone who happens to take an interest. For those who have killed once or twice, they might find a red stain on their hands, but the higher the kill count will result in larger proportions of blood covering their arms and, in extreme cases, perhaps their entire body. The blood will vanish once you have left the prison wing, though you may occasionally see a flicker of the image while anywhere on the station. The same goes for health stats viewed in infirmary sections of Del Pascia. ☄ WHAT WAS THAT SOUND? Del Pascia is a very large station and has been abandoned for quite some time. D-E-L will regretfully inform anyone who asks that some nonessential areas have fallen into disrepair. It will warn that exploring these areas can be risky as it has no knowledge of what damage these sections have taken. Regardless of that, if you venture in, you’ll find that these sections are in rather bad shape. Exposed wiring sparks in the walls, a great variety of broken tools are thrown about, and it seems that every camera has been purposely broken. Venturing in further will yield valuable components for salvage, and yet... as before, you suspect you aren’t alone. It isn’t often, but sometimes, you might hear a step falling moments after yours or a rattle coming from the vents. Every time you go to investigate... whatever made the noise is gone. Should the AI be queried about this, D-E-L will emphasize that all personnel and prisoners were removed and that there is no one on board except crew from the Moira. ( ooc; For questions, go here. [If it's any comfort Han doesn't look as shocked as he probably ought to, though he does cast a brief, worried look at the arm as Luke tucks it away again. Hadn't Leia said he'd gotten a replacement?]

It's not going to make sense. I've been here a few weeks. Leia too, and-- well, a bunch of people.

[It is a comfort, in it's own way. Luke would explain if asked, but he doesn't want to.]

A bunch of people? Anyone we know? [From the lack of long hair on Han's person, Luke makes a stab in the dark and assumes Chewbacca's absent; Luke feels a twinge of compassion for Han at the thought of them being separated.] Don't worry about confusing me; it already doesn't make any sense.

[Knowing Chewbacca made it out safely on the Falcon with Leia and Luke and Lando has made it much easier to deal with his absent friends being absent. At this rate maybe the wookiee will find his way though the Ingress, too.]

Sort of. [The family news should probably be broken by family, right? That seems only right. Certainly Leia ought to explain her own part in it.] Lando's here. A lot of it Leia should probably tell you about. But... Well, Ben Kenobi is here, only he's a lot younger than he was.

Lando, right. Leia's friend. [Whoever he is. Luke's shrugging that off when he hears the name Kenobi, and his eyes light up.] Ben's here? How? He's- [Uh. One with the Force. Which is to say, Luke's expression is skeptical, but he clearly wants to believe.]

[Calling Lando Leia's friend is almost enough to make Han laugh, considering how annoyed she still seems with him. Not that he can blame her when he's still getting over a grudge himself, but maybe that's easier. This might have been the biggest and worst but it's hardly the first time one of them has failed the other's trust.

Anyway, Lando is hardly the unbelievable bit.]

I wish I had an answer. He won't remember you, I think as far as he knows it's still the middle of the damn Clone Wars.

Really? That's ridiculous. [Luke shakes his head. But then, Leia was apparently from past his time, why can't Ben be from before? Luke slumps a bit (more), conceding to the inevitability of it all.] This entire place is ridiculous. The least they could have done was leave me my shoes.

[When in doubt: complain. He looks back up at Han.]

But- how have you been?

[It's as gently asked as possible-- he knows Han isn't one to admit worry or pain, but the last Luke saw of him, he was a carbonite slab. Asking how he's doing is literally the least Luke can do.]

We can probably find a pair of boots in the hold. Come on.

[Han is an expert, because he got here without his shoes, too. Also, well, he's been poking around for a month now so he's got a decent idea of what's where. Possibly there won't be anything comfortable and definitely nothing fashionable, but it's better than running around barefoot.

He gets one step in that direction before he has to stop and shoot an incredulous look at his friend.]

You're worrying about me right now?

[Kid, you just showed up in another universe and heard there are dead men running around and are missing a limb, let Han do the worrying for a couple minutes at least.]

[Luke pads after him, content, for once in his life, to be lead.]

I'm not worrying, [whiiine,] but it sure sounds like we have some catching up to do.

Yeah, you're not wrong.

[It's kind of easier for Han to account for the missing time, having been frozen. Which, by the way, is an experience he's about as eager to discuss as Luke is to talk about the hand thing, judging from the way he's walking. He went into that never expecting to come out of it, or to be executed immediately if he ever did, so finding out that things kept happening during that time isn't so jarring.

Obi-Wan and Anakin and the others here, well, that's a different story.]

Leia told me some of it. What happened after.

[Luke can guess. Han's never been the biggest on talking about things that really matter, and Luke isn't about to push him. He wouldn't even if he had the energy.] What did she tell you?

That you fought Vader, they found you hanging under the city.

[ And some other things. That he'd managed to call to her somehow, that he'd lost his hand and gotten a new one. That he'd been keeping something to himself, and she hadn't a clue what it might be. Somehow it seems like that much, he doesn't have to mention. ]

Then you're about as caught up as I am. [Han guesses correctly; Luke has little he wants to share beyond that.] I guess it's more that Vader found me.

[But here's something no one's told Luke yet:] Why were you in... carbonite? [He figures if Han doesn't want to talk about it, he'll say.]

They wanted to test out the freezing chamber.

[ Test it for what, you might ask? He shoots Luke a significant look which he figures ought to make that clear. ]

The bounty hunter was taking me back to Jabba.

[Even if it doesn't, Luke remembers the moment he narrowly avoided being frozen in his fight with Vader. That was obvious enough.]

It was all a trap, Han; you were bait. I'm... I'm so sorry.

[Luke is sure his friend isn't holding any grudges-- that's not what friends do, after all. But for his own sense of self, Luke needs to make it right, even if it's only an acknowledgement of what happened.]

Don't be. I'm just glad you made it out.

[ Hell, the only real drawback of giving himself up was that he couldn't do anything to warn Luke about what was waiting for him, or help him in the fight. Buying some small chance of safety for Chewie and Leia was the best he could hope for, and even that seemed slim. ]

[Still, the knowledge that his presence-- existence?-- caused Han and Leia so much trouble continues to weigh on Luke. He can't let Han or Leia know the full extent, though. He just nods wearily; he can't harp on it. He just silently promises Han he'll make it up to him.]

When did you get here? I mean, in our time. Leia says I'm from before her... however that works.

Kinda hard to say.

[ But it's a fair enough question, even if it's delving into things he'd rather not think about. ]

The last thing I know for sure was being frozen. After that...

[ He shrugs, like it's nothing. It's totally nothing. An indeterminate time in the claustrophobic half-awareness of suspended animation? Nah, he's fine. ]

[Luke, despite many claims-- and actions-- to the contrary, isn't an idiot. He can tell this is getting close to Han's general area of discomfort (ie, anything involving a genuine feeling) and opts to drop the subject.]

Well, I'm glad we're all alright. That's all that matters. Now we just have to work on getting out of this mess.[they could do worse tho]

[He has plenty of feelings! He's even willing to share them when coated with appropriate levels of snark.]

You'd know how better than me; I just got here. I'm not really in the mood to get comfortable, though.

[Those absolutely count. Besides, there has already been hugging. Hugs are also feelings, basically.]

The problem is really where we go from here. Even if we had a ship...

[Which is the most doable part of the plan, provided they like the crowded transports... He shrugs.]

We need to figure out where we are. I mean, I've always wanted to go to the unknown regions, just... [A theatrical Skywalker sigh,] not like this.

I've heard this ship makes stops every once and a while. We should start making a map.

Someone's got one, of the last couple planets at least.

[ Including the one they blew up. Maybe Luke should get some rest before he hears that. ]

Well, not so far. But if we hit places with anything interesting, we've got to stumble upon somebody who trades with the Core. [That's where things come from! They can't be that far out in the unknown regions if they want to scavenge for parts.]

[He will never admit that having that annoying optimistic perspective is kind of nice.]
