What: The Moira stops to resupply at the closest planet and things get weird.

E V E N T L O G

Between the Perspectives "but in your future, the you i see is exactly the person you always wanted to be." Supplies have been loaded onto the ship, and the captains have encouraged all crew members to explore with the added notice that this will be the last planetary stop (hopefully) until the Moira reaches the Midway Hub. While seemingly uneventful on the Moira, the mini colony has been thrumming with adventure and has offered its visitors the opportunity to explore. To those who have indulged, some experienced great changes and others discovered enlightening information about the Ingress and the very ship some have called home for over a year. Later in the month, the Lamaria hold the closing ceremony of the Desiderium Festival (which was noted on the prior event log) . The burgundy and lime colors of the celebration slowly fade into black and vermillion, and small fires are now in place for visitors to throw their written notes into. Everyone who participates will be blessed by one of the Lamaria (they will visit the ship as well), and the MID will be able to only translate bits and pieces of what this blessing means. "Experienced loss — every story is different — and saying goodbye — not to know — understanding lies in the mingling of holding on and letting go." ☄ TRANSFORMATION CENTRAL For some, it might be due to a touch or a look. For others, it might not be any of those things at all, and something that just happens. Either way, shortly after the blessing occurs, you will find yourself changing. Your character’s body will slowly transform into the physical likeness of another being on the Mini Colony. The effects of this change may last as short as a day or as long as a week, but each come with their own stipulations—advantages and disadvantages. This is limited to one as the blessing itself only allows for “a little understanding”. Linked below are some of the possible transformations that your character can go through. Players can choose either one of the mod-supplied suggestions or choose the form of another already living on the Moira. ☄ THE FEAR MACHINE Paranoia writes the checks, we're dangling here like a marionette. Here we go again, the world is coming to an end. Engage the fear machine and collect the dividends. While the festival is beautiful, and some have found enlightenment and understanding here, there are those on the mini colony who don't enjoy the festivities. In a secluded room on the fifth floor in one of the buildings in the Science District, there is one such person who finds the religious festival to be a nuisance—one who should be stopped. Thinking that disrupting the blessings and celebration will somehow "get back" at the Lamaria for impeding their work (some of those who have transformed got into the building a few years ago and destroyed this person's property). Pettiness thrives, and they create something they dub The Fear Machine. Yet, while the science is sound, the technology itself is not. In the middle of the mini colony, the machine is set off, and bolts of transparent energy erupt and spark out around it, stretching as far as the docked ships. Since the technology wasn't created properly to sustain the energy, it doesn't spread out evenly like they had hoped. Some are hit. Some are not. Those who are will develop a sudden and overwhelming phobia that will last well into the beginning of November. The machine might be turned off and left behind, but the obsessive fear has only just begun. ( ooc; For questions, go here. That's not something you can do, is it?

[She hadn't thought so, but when he said he hadn't even wanted to transform... It isn't as if Padmé knows too much about him, although he had seemed more of a composition of a droid than of a human, but he certainly appears to be flesh and blood now.]

[As a blanket is all he seems to be wearing, not that she is looking too closely. Tentatively, a hand reaches out to rest on his shoulder.]

Perhaps we can find you something else to wear? And some food?

[He's peering out at her, only his eyes visible -- at least, as far as his face is concerned. The touch actually makes him jump.]

[Wow, human skin is so sensitive.]

Wear? Why would... wait, food?

[She wonders how much interaction he has had with humans beyond talking, especially if he seems perplexed by her questions.]

We're a bit less durable, so it is best to cover up for protection from the elements, amongst other things. And yes, food. Or a beverage... I take it your stomach has not started to growl yet?

[He's been around humans a lot. But learning requires paying attention to detail. Which he really doesn't.]

I got the blanket thing here though. That's good right?

[And then shaking his head. Nope, he hasn't been hungry yet.]

If you are fine with just a blanket, yes.

[Which is about as close as no that Padmé would come to saying. Not that she has any qualms with it, but he might find it a bit troubling. For starters, keeping it up.]

Your feet though?

Well, it's not like there's anything else around!

[What even are pants.]

... what about my feet?

[It is why she offered to help him find something else, as a blanket only went so far.]

Do you have something covering your feet? It might be a bit painful if you step on something.

Psh, if it's just a little painful, whatever. I got this.

[He does not have this. But he's going to pretend he does.]

It might be more than a little. You could well cut it, or have something stabbed through the flesh.

[As compared to some, they are rather fragile.]

No, no. [With a small wave of her hands.] But if someone leaves something on the ground, and you don't notice and step on it... Shoes protect your feet.

... so they're like, what. Foot shields?

[democratically]

[Sorry, sorry, but there is a little giggle from Padmé, although she brings her fingers up to her mouth to stop it.]

That is one way to put it, yes.

[Why is everyone amused by him when he's not trying to be funny?]

Okay, so. Where are the foot shields?

[Perhaps because he is not trying, and that he truly doesn't know and continues to call them foot shields.]

I wonder- we'd need to figure out your shoe size first anyway. Too small or too big, they can both be discomforting.

Shoe... size? They're not like... they're different?

[Okay, where he comes from, almost everything transforms.]

Some people might have the same shoe size, but not everyone does. As you grow, so does your foot, for a human anyway.

[Shifting the hem of her dress back, she shows her own petite foot.]

You wouldn't be able to wear mine.

What, really?

[He looks down at his own feet, which is easy, since he's barefoot.]

You can't just. Transform them?

[democratically]

[Transform them... To put shoes on? Or to have one's feet magically be shoes?]

I can't. Perhaps you can?

[She knows that humans can be varied, and she isn't just going to say no to him, especially when it might be otherwise. Perhaps he can do something with them if he thinks about it.]

... Nah, I can't transform anything like this.

I tried already.

[Just please don't ask how he tried. It's probably nothing anyone wants to hear.]

[She'll just assume he looked at his feet and expected something to happen.]

I'm afraid you'll have to do everything the typical human way then. Acquiring access to shoes or clothes or food or water.

Ughhhh... this is really annoying. How do you guys do this every day?

We grow up with it. It isn't something that is thrust upon us one day.

[Most things come as naturally as breathing, because she has done them for so long. She has learned from her parents, and from her teachers- and really, anyone she could learn something from she did.]

But if you're careful with where you step, I suppose going barefoot the end of the world. Same with the blanket. Is your species not the same? You have an outer layer that protects your inner layer?
