SPACE VAMPS RULE
I've been trying to get control of something else. This... is new.
[It's all new, but even as a bloodthirsty vampire-analogue at least he's human shaped. The bat thing? That's a complete change from anything he's ever experienced.]
Suppose the stories must have origins in space.
SPACE WEREWOLVES DROOL oh wait i mean--
I suppose we'll get used to it, eventually. I'm not sure how long we'll have to wait for this whole thing to pass.
[In his case, he's never even really known what a vampire even is, seeing as he's still from 1792. Sure, he's heard them in passing since being here and even back in the Drabwurld, but he's never come across one ever. Needless to say, the transformation was essentially terrifying in all aspects for him. As of now, he's more or less settled into being a Sangui and is learning how to be comfortable with it.
Still, a brow furrows.]
Truly? I'm even sure what the stories are, at this point.
no no you've definitely got it there
[He doesn't want to be, of course, but you don't exactly get to decide these things.]
Well, of course, vampire stories tend to differ in a lot of ways. Thirst for blood, problems with the sun, turning into bats, no reflection... Take your pick, someone's used it. And, well, whatever it is we've become, it's quite close to being vampires. Maybe the bat thing came from an alien abduction.
[It's just as viable as 'hey, look, we've suddenly turned into space vampires'.]
yes good bonne
[He has hope, naive as it is, because it's something he's had in abundance due to living during the French Revolution.]
I don't think vampires exist in my world- I've never even heard of them once. They sound like something out of a fairytale. Or a nightmare. I don't even know if there's anything like a vampire in stories back home.
[It's about all they have, honestly. At least, that's how Arno takes it. Eventually, they'll either adapt or things will go back to a sense of normalcy. If there even is such a thing on the Moira.]

[Something to think about sometimes.]
A lot of things I didn't think existed turned out to, so you never know. It's always been a fairy tale, horror film sort of thing where I come from, too. Of course... eventually you learn that that sort of thing isn't always that sort of thing.
And sometimes you turn into bats, for some reason.
no subject
Though he does sigh at the mentioning of the Moira being a waiting game.]
I can agree with that. It's how it's been for me with the Moira and from before then, too. [This isn't his first rodeo when it comes to being kidnapped.] I was never fond of them, and I'm not entirely sure who is.
[Arno raises a brow and chuckles.] Monsieur, you're talking to a man from the French Revolution. If anyone has learned that things should exist and shouldn't exist and yet they do, it would be me. Honestly, I'd like to say this has been the wildest thing that's happened to me yet, but I don't think I can.

[Technically, Liquid's been kidnapped before, although it's more being a prisoner of war and it was a hell of a lot different than ending up on a spaceship and deciding (with few other options otherwise) to work. So... really it's only vaguely related.] The Moira's certainly shown me more of space than I ever thought I'd see.
[Arms crossed, he tilts his head slightly to the side in interest.]
Oh? What's the wildest, then? Sounds like you've really come a long way.

[War and revolution tend to show who are leaders and who have no spine, as he's been told. Arno likes to think that despite not always standing up for themselves, the people as a whole are a powerful and incredible force that can cause immediate change, regardless of their ability or desire to adapt to what may come. It's the beauty found in choice and free will.]
The closest thing I ever saw before the Moira was a train, and that was in another world away from home, before I came here. It was called the Drabwurld.
[Arno huffs a little at that, brow furrowing in thought.]
Have you ever heard of a Dullahan? I met them for the first time in the Drabwurld. They're headless riders who will stop at nothing to tear down everything in their path. In my case, they were people who were accused of treason and killed within the court of Caer Scima, only their souls were cursed to their bodies instead of letting them rest. I had to ride with them into the enemy's territory and fight against my will; if I did not, I would be accused of siding with the enemy and have my shard- [He motions to his chest at that.] removed and my only method of returning home revoked.
So while being a Sangui is interesting and new, I don't think it quite comes to what I and many others had to do to stop a war in another world.

[He's certainly had plenty to adapt to, although it's never been quite so different as when things like the Moira happen. Or, even, something as incredibly bizarre as the story this guy's telling him.
Okay, so (hopefully) temporarily becoming a vampire is a little less difficult than all the complications of that.]
I've heard of the legends, yes.
[He read a lot about a lot as a kid. And not as a kid. Of course, nothing mentioned some kind of 'Drabwuld' but nobody ever wrote a novel about the Moira (that he knew about), so. It's an interesting story nonetheless, and he finds himself nodding along with it.]
Yes, that's certainly... different. I'm used to war in my own world. Although I'd be lying if I said I had no experience with fighting against my will.
no subject
Oui, it was different. And a revolution and a war aren't so far from each other in some aspects, I suppose.
[It saddens him to hear that he's not the only one forced to fight against his will- but he won't push as to why or how. It's not his place. Instead, Arno crosses his arms and raises a brow at Liquid, huffing slightly.]
As far as bats go, I can't control when it happens- most of the time, at least. It tends to happen when I'm surprised. Controlling which direction or how many isn't as hard, I just need to focus on where I'm going and it works. [His arms uncross and he shrugs.] It may not work exactly the same for you, but it's just a bit of advice on my end.

[Liquid, after all, tried to start his own little revolution. And he would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for his meddling brother.
At least he's not trying to revolt against anything here. For now.]
It's probably more helpful than I've got, which is nothing. It just sort of... happened. I was working on something, but it looks like I might have a different project for the time being.
[And that project is bats.]
no subject
[Unless they were Templars and named Thomas Germain. Arno has quite a bit of words for that man, not to mention more than that.]
I'm honestly not even sure how to go about it other than try to work on it when I'm already a bat. It's... confusing.
[His nose wrinkles just a little at the thought of trying outside of it. So far, it's been unsuccessful.]
At least it will keep me preoccupied for a while, I suppose. I'd imagine it would be about the same for you?
no subject
[Liquid is, of course, not most people. Fighting's one of the things he's best at, the thing he was pretty much created for, and something he enjoys greatly. War's in his genes, although explaining that to people is hard.]
You're telling me. I'm not even sure how it works. Probably best not to think about it too hard, before it becomes a difficult process.
[Maybe thinking too hard about the bat thing would make things different? He's not too sure about that. It's like he'd replaced trying to figure out turning into smoke with trying to figure out turning into bats... so maybe it'll be useful when his body goes back to normal.]
Yeah, looks like it. Time to harness some bats until our bodies decide they've had enough of all this, hm?
