Ahsoka Tano | human | OTA
[When Ahsoka agreed to participate in the festival, this was not what she expected out of it. She had always been fascinated by the traditions and festivals of different cultures. It was part of being a Jedi, learning about other races and peoples, to help keep the balance of peace between everyone. Participating seemed like a good way to learn more about these locals, not to mention she felt it would have been rude to refuse, after being so generously invited.
And everything was fine, too, until that blessing. She felt off pretty quickly, having to find a place to sit while she waited for the feeling to pass. Only, it didn't go away, not completely. She felt like her senses were numb, which was far too familiar to how she felt after her montrals were turned to glass not so long ago, triggering a small panic in her. It was when she went to reach up and check on them that she realized they weren't even there. Her white and blue montrals had been replaced with dark locks of hair.
Brb, time to find something close enough to a mirror to check this out better! Anyone in passing might notice the former-Togruta looking at herself in a glass window, pulling on her new hair and ears and fussing the whole time.]
Oh, you have got to be kidding me?! I'm human?!
b: wildcard
[During the week, Ahsoka can be found in the cargo bay working, the gardens for meditation, or the training simulation room for training purposes. Don't be surprised if she's a little grumpy about the change.]
b in the gardens
Today Badou isn't here for peace. No, he's on a mission. An important one. One that involves plucking certain plants, looking at them, then ultimately tossing them with a grunt of frustration. He trails along doing this until he crosses her path on the grass there. He shoots her a wry look and, just for lack of conversation and also the Answer to his mystery, says:]
Think you could smoke this?
[its a maple leaf so maybe not.]
no subject
Yeah, I don't think that'd be a good idea? [she's not an expert on plants that are safe to smoke, but she's pretty sure that's not one.]
no subject
He glances at it, then tosses it and sighs.]
You doin' yoga out here or what?
no subject
It helps me clear my mind and stop thinking overthinking. [And given this sudden change in species? She really needed that.]
no subject
he hums]
Does it really help? I find a great cigarette helps with that, and its cheaper than all the self help vids on meditation and yoga.
no subject
But that's a really dumb thing to argue over so she's not going to push that any further than what she already said.]
I didn't learn from a video, anyway. And yes, it really does help.
no subject
[that's not...exactly different than home.]
Hmmmm...must be a lady thing.
a
Are you... normally not?
no subject
Don't mind her, as she tugs on her ears.]
How do you guys stand these things? [SAYS THE ONE THAT NORMALLY HAS HORNS]
no subject
[ What else is there to say about ears? He's run out of ideas here. ]
Do you know what made you human all of a sudden?
no subject
To his question, she just shakes her head, which feels VERY weird, with hair instead of horns.]
No idea. Unless-- [No, it couldn't be from that blessing, could it? But she really had no other explanation.]
no subject
[ He's just going to ignore her comment about how useful ears are or aren't. Clearly something's gone wrong here, and arguing isn't going to fix it. ]
no subject
[That had to be the answer. Right??
and when you normally have montrals that let you sense your surroundings, ears are invalid. So it's probably smart that he decided not to argue further.]
no subject
wildcard; gardens
She strolls, as she often does, a meandering path that lets her reflect on the day she has had, or even on far greater things. Some answers she has already come to, but others do require far more work. She doesn't bother those who do not give the impression of wanting to be bothered, although she does find herself drawing to a pause after catching sight of one particular individual.
And yes... Yes. Padmé just might be staring, trying to rectify the image before her.]
no subject
Like now, with her montrals and lekku gone, and she was stuck in this human body. Fortunately, it wasn't too drastically different. She had been without her montrals before, back when they were turned to glass (an experience she hadn't wanted to relive, but here she was). She relied more heavily on the Force to make her feel more comfortable without her normal senses, but that still didn't make it better.
She was in meditation when she sensed the familiar individual approaching, pulling herself out of her quiet time to see the female in question, well-- staring. She's can't fault her, that was the look she had on her face when she saw it the first time too.]
Hey, Senator-- Sorry, Padmé. [old habits die hard?]
no subject
Of course she realized that she was staring, and did refocus her attention to not be quite so intense with her gaze. But it seemed that it wasn't just a random individual who happened to bear the same markings as Ahsoka, but Ahsoka herself.
Just not herself...]
You- Ahsoka? But- Apologies. It's just- [Well, let's just collect our thoughts for a moment. It was no doubt as surprising, if not more, for Ahsoka to find herself like this, then it was for Padmé to find her.] When did this happen?
no subject
Just after the Desiderium Festival. They performed some kind of blessing when it ended. I'm not sure it that was it, or something else, but-- well, here I am. Ears and everything.
[It's certainly been an adjustment. She's just ready for it to be over, but there was no telling how long she'd be stuck human.]
no subject
[If not worse. It is not every day that one just wakes up and changes their species. It's not even something that is common to begin with. Some modification can be made to appearances, but a Human does not become a Wookiee, or a Togruta a Human.]
You still have your connection with the Force?
[As that would be doubly confusing, no doubt.]
no subject
[Be glad you missed out. She really wasn't happy to have ears. Or hair. No offense to those who have both.]
Thankfully, yes. Without it, I'd probably lose my mind. [Without it, there was no way she'd be able to stand the dull senses that humans had. How did they manage?]
It wasn't the same situation, not exactly, but I had to go without my montrals a few months back too. Did Anakin tell you about when half the ship turned to glass?
no subject
Information and Anakin is a bit particular. There are some things that he has told her, but his own focus on details differs from her own. She finds herself shaking her head. There is much Anakin has told her, much she has read between the lines, and far more she has yet to learn.]
No, he didn't. Was it the same situation? Your... lack of montrals and a ship of glass?
[Although how does one lose montrals? Then again, how does a Togruta become Human.]
no subject
The ship wasn't the only thing that turned. People did too. Not completely, just different body parts. Anakin's arm changed, and so did my montrals-- so they didn't work right anymore. They were there, just useless. [And she had been so terrified she's break them. It wasn't a very fun experience.]
no subject
But, this ship was perhaps the strangest thing that Padmé had ever come across.]
But everything turned out fine in the end?
[Given that her montrals had appeared as they should have when last they spoke.]
no subject
[So yeah. Happy ending! Never mind the excruciating pain Anakin suffered with that drove him to cut off his arm. Or how the weeks she suffered with glass montrals were probably the longest in her life.]
It wasn't fun, but we got through it. That's how it tends to be around here, unfortunately. [as if her suddenly being human wasn't proof of that as it was.]
