When Rinzler does finally answer, it's not exactly what Peter was hoping for. First off, scouting? Peter's not sure if that's a dig at his own job or something he should be more wary about. Scouting for what? For who? Should he being telling someone about this? If only he hadn't made so many promises to leave the program alone.
Second, it doesn't fit what he went through. Which is a little more pertinent to the situation. Peter shakes his head, groaning.]
There were a lot of people around where I was. People who should have been able to see something happen. And I definitely wasn't doing anything to have anyone freaking out.

Otherwise, things end up like this.
He absorbs the data. It's important, but not useful—at least, not so far as any kind of conclusion goes. Different locations. Different sets of bystanders.
