[ If he didn't look young, he'd show his age there— too young to have learned to be bitter about the world yet. Too young to be jaded instead of excited by the presence of another superhuman, the way she always remembered Pietro being. To think that it is all cool.
And this too: he thinks she is nice. ]
Someone who is from Earth, and different. [ The politest word; not what many people would say to either of them. And not the word most humans would use: freak. ] Even if I am Inhuman, and not a mutant. And someone who knows what it is to be different even on my own planet, my home. Something like that?

[He shrugs, looks a little embarrassed. He feels like he shouldn't be so interested in everyone different he meets- it's not like his entirely too human family ever disappointed him- but he is. It's in part why he'd followed Charles and Logan in the first place.
But it feels a little weird to be called on it.]
Something like that. It's not just that. Like I said, you seem pretty nice. But yeah. I've meet a few mutants here and everything, but it's still kind of cool to find someone who isn't human. Who gets it.

[ With her hair twisting like snakes in the thought, a coiling red mass, could anyone really fault them? With the way she rarely touches anything with her hands alone, when she can simply let one tendril pluck a glass from a tray as an obliging native passes and deposit the empty one. Without even so much as looking at it. ]
I will admit sometimes the feeling was mutual.

But it's not an argument he wants to start. A who's had it worse sort of thing never gets anywhere. While Peter is often eager to start a fight over his point, he doesn't like doing that amongst friends.
He just smiles tightly, stares out into the crowd.]
Why did you go live with humans? You make it sound like you guys have your own country.

[ Her brow creases, furrowing between her eyebrows as her mouth pulls in a frown. Deep lines for a moment. A shadow of a bad dream. ]
There was an accident. I hit my head in a fall, and I woke up with no memory. You cannot return to a place if you no longer know it exists. So I was left to wander among humans for a few years.

[He almost feels bad for a moment; he obviously brought up something else she didn't really want to think about. He takes her answer with a shallow nod, holding back the urge to apologize.]
That sucks, honestly. And sounds kind of like Mom's soaps. [It's a lame attempt at humor.] I imagine it had to be pretty scary. Especially waking up and finding out about your powers.

[ This is not her neatly avoiding discussing how her amnesia made her feel, because Medusa does not care to admit to weakness or emotion, and this is not her dodging the subject of how her husband blew up their city and then abandoned her to build a new one from the wreckage.
Though it's actually a legitimate question, and her hair quirks on either side of her face, curling around her expression in questioning loops for a second or two. ]

[To a teenage boy, at least. Peter likes a little more action. Or the cartoons his sister insists they watch together.]
It's not, like, actual soap. I don't really know why it's called that. Or operas either.

[ She is not sure what she thinks about this comparison. Insulted? Or just slapped with a sudden reminder of how young he really is. ]
Forgive me for saying this, but— you do not get out much in the world, do you?

Well I can now say I've been to a bunch of other worlds. But, I kind of never got out of DC back home. Uh, why?
