[Elizabeth stares at him for a second, unsure of what to say next, but she's about to drown if she doesn't get some help so she tables the issue of re-introductions for the moment.]

Help...? [She raises her hand towards him, indicating she's having a bit of trouble.] I'm a flyer, not a swimmer.

Even if they've been used, they'll at least keep us from having to swim for miles without a break. I don't know about you, but there isn't much ocean where I'm from--

[Elizabeth starts doggy-paddling towards the nearest pod. It's a shameful thing to watch.]

[Kaidan chuckled a little. There was plenty of ocean where he was from now, but it was kind of a world covered with reapers. Not much help to anyone. He paused, treading water for a moment, and then followed after her, watching as she swam. This could be problematic if this was all she knew how to swim.]

Are you open to a few tips? Just to make it a little easier to swim?

What? No one's going to give me a medal for my champion-level swimming right now? I'm shocked. [She throws a smirk back at him.] Lay it on me.

[He chuckled a little. Someone who could keep a sense of humour even through adversity? He liked her already.]

Without being rude - you need to use your legs more. They can propel you through the water. And... stretch your arms out straight. [He gave a half decent demonstration.] You won't feel as tired.

So, essentially the idea is to cut through the water faster than you can sink...

[Seems like sound advice, especially for someone who's life had been 'run faster than the speed of being shot to death' for a while. Elizabeth starts kicking first, per the demonstration, then adds the arms in awkwardly. Breathing also seems to be tricky, but she's more or less half decent at it.]

Does seem-- more efficient.

That's the idea, anyway. Sinking isn't ideal for anyone.

[That's Kaidan. Mr Efficient. He was just glad to help in a small way.]

Now, those escape pods...
