[Although there had been more fresh water on Naboo than not. Yet it is still that particular scent, of freshness and nature, organic. Although she wouldn't fault anyone for having a different set of scents than her.
There is a slight twitch on her lips, her mind turning back to that day, seemingly so long ago, on her home world.] That was his dislike as well, or one of them, although he grew up on a planet covered in sand and lacking in water. Perhaps I would have felt the same had I been in his place.
[It had been far too warm for her liking on Tatooine though, sand aside. She had felt like she would wilt, like the moisture had been sucked right from her. No, Naboo, to her, would always be perfection.]
I'm Padmé Amidala. I would say I do not think we have met, but I am quite certain we haven't.

[Right because all humans come from earth. Right??? Sure that makes sense. He should know better by now, but at least he's not asking maliciously. In all his time around here, he'd forgotten to ask about where his friends came from.]
[But then he frowns in thought.] Dude, I'm pretty sure any bot would hate that place, too. It's hard enough to get water and stuff out of your armor! Sand is totally worse!
[See at least his dislike is practical unlike some people ANAKIN.]
Oh hey, hi. I'm Sideswipe the awesome and handsome! [Wait.] ... okay, but your name sounds seriously familiar.
no subject
Oh, no. My homeworld is called Naboo.
[The dude comment catches her a bit, although she merely takes it to be his mannerisms when it comes to speaking. Unless he comes from a species that does have troubles telling male from female. Either way, she isn't about to make something from it.]
I'm afraid there are a number of planets then that would not be to your liking.
[She does turn back to something he has said.]
Any bot- is that what your species is?
[He is akin, in some ways, to droids within her galaxy, although it is a passing similarity. Nothing more. And it does bring a light smile to her lips when he speaks about himself.]
A pleasure to meet you, Sideswipe the awesome and handsome. Perhaps you have met someone from my galaxy? There seem to be a handful of us here.
no subject
[Sorry, Padmé, you've met the slang king of the Autobots. Everyone is a 'dude'. He's a dude, she's a dude, we're all dudes, hey.]
[His face wrinkles up at the idea of more than one planet covered in gross grains of rock that work up into joints. Great. Sounds like a party. But then she's moved on, and he's nodding.]
Yeah! "Cybertronians" if you wanna get all fancy about it. Buuuuuuut I answer to "Autobot". Easier to say, too, huh?
[Yes, yes he is going to wink at her.]
Uhhhh maybe? I mean, 'hey what planet are you from' doesn't really come up that much. But maybe!
no subject
It does seem a very simplistically descriptive word.
[She rolls that over in her mind though. It isn't a word that she is aware of- either of them. It isn't surprising anymore. She knows of wild space, and knows that space itself goes on. They have mapped a vast area, but it is only still one single drop of water in an ocean.]
I will keep both in mind, Sideswipe, although I see no issue in remembering your name. But my husband is here, along with several others that I know. Perhaps that is how my name came up?
no subject
[He seems personally offended now that they're talking about it. Even though it's never bothered him before. Go figure how his brain works.]
[His hands go behind his head, thoughtfully.]
Maybe? Who's your husband thing anyway?
[... one day, he'll figure out these relationship names humans have for each other.]
no subject
It may well be a question to which there is no answer, given that the humans of Earth might not even know why it was called so.
[History does have a way of becoming lost in the depths of time.
It likely could be confusing anyway, given that Padmé doesn't bear his last name as she usually would. Rather, she continues to go by the name that she had when she was Queen, which is also not the last name at her birth.]
Anakin Skywalker. He has been here for some time.
no subject
[Not... nearly old enough, Sideswipe, come on. You should know better by now. You really should.]
[He blinks, looking surprised for a second, before he just grins.]
Really? Whoa! Yeah, I know him! He's like, my laser-sword bro! That's awesome!
no subject
I'm honestly not too certain, but I don't think there is anyone that old... Although that doesn't mean that an answer is lacking. It may just be hard to come by.
[And while she isn't too certain that his name will mean anything, given the reaction that she gets, she knows that it does. Her husband has always been a beacon, so finds, drawing those to him whether he will it or not.]
Laser sw- ah, his lightsaber?
no subject
[There's a big shrug. He honestly doesn't care one way or another why the planet's called what it is. It was just small talk.]
[He's still grinning though, and nods.]
Yeah! That! It's so cool.
no subject
[Although whatever the first word that humans learned in her galaxy is far gone. Like many things, it is buried and likely never to resurface.
Her own smile softens in reply.] Yes, it is. That weapon is his life.
no subject
[Movies showed him that much. Even if he really, really hadn't paid all that much attention. Those were boring parts.]
What, really?
no subject
[Although Padmé doesn't doubt that it is more nonsense than anything else. Learning by imitation, she guesses, never having studied babies or lived to see her own.]
Oh. He won't die if something happens to it. [Lest he be thinking that.] Well, not directly, anyway. All Jedi have a lightsaber, and it is how they kept the peace.
no subject
[Since, well. Learning to talk from square one isn't really a thing for him. Or any bots he knows.]
With laser swords? Oh... man that is so cool.
no subject
[Not that she had first hand experience with her own. She had passed after their first cries had been uttered.]
When necessary, yes, but they are not a toy.
no subject
[Says the Autobot who knows next to nothing about his own kind's biology.]
Well, yeah. But they're still cool.
no subject
[But she offers a smile.]
Yes, they are impressive.
no subject
[As he sticks his leg out to show it off. Absurdly long and lanky.]
Man, I wish I could have one.
no subject
You seem quite impressive without one.
no subject
[He just perks right up, beaming.]
no subject
I am not in the habit of saying things I don't believe.
no subject
Here's hoping you get to see these things in action.
