When the Moira crash-landed on the planet, her cloned human body was injured, and Adrien put it in cryostasis. Thankfully, the natives of the planet had temporary bodies for AIs such as herself and she enjoyed using one during the time the body was laid up. But now she knows it's been a year and that this whole thing has been one giant lie, and it seems the worst of it was in store when she returned to her body—being in the equivalent of a twelve-month coma meant her body had lost muscle mass and tone. Tex was released after two weeks, after proving she can make her way across the medbay with her walker, but now she's not just walking across medbay—she's trying to make it all the way to her room. Not as easily done as she'd thought.
After a while of pushing herself Tex remembers what a bad idea working herself too hard would be, and she starts shuffling along, taking little breaks. The walker has a little seat she can flip down and sit on to rest, which she does, until someone else enters the hallway. Then she stands and proceeds down the hall. Why so much pride about it? She doesn't know, but she doesn't want to be seen as being that weak.
It doesn't really help matters when she stumbles—catches her toe on the floor because she's barely lifting her feet. ]
Fuck.
[ It's barely an utterance, said under her breath, but she's sure it's been noticed. ]

[Of course he's going to hear the curse. This is Reinhardt. Ever alert for those in need of help. Or an arm to lean on.]
[He was in the process of heading back to his room after checking up on people. Everyone was accounted for. Everyone he expected to see, anyway. And after all that partying, even his legendary stamina had waned. It was time for a nap.]
[Up until muttered curses and the sight of someone stumbling.]
[He waits, however, for a response. Maybe they don't need help. But it doesn't hurt to ask, does it?]
no subject
Ah, no. Not really. I think I'm in over my head.
no subject
[He's smiling as he says it, making an effort to be as nonthreatening and upbeat as possible.]
[Extending a huge hand to her.]
no subject
Are you planning to pick me up, because that would be kind of humiliating.
[ She reaches for his hand, though. ]
no subject
[There's that booming laugh of his, and his hand is rock-steady as she grasps it. Holding still and strong until she can get her feet back under her.]
Where are you headed?
no subject
[ They're at least on the right floor now. But she's reached a point where she's nearly spent for the day. Not a feeling she's familiar with. ]
no subject
[And now the big guy is all concern. He's holding out his hand again, just in case she needs it.]
I can walk that way as well, if it will help.
no subject
[ She would take his hand except it takes both of hers to hold onto the walker. She straightens and tries moving forward another step. In a way, having him there is helpful just to make her more determined. She succeeds in not tripping again and starts shuffling in a careful way, to avoid falling. ]
no subject
[Reinhardt is already used to slowing his pace for other people. This is nothing. He'll stay right at her side, though. In case he's needed.]
What was it that happened to cause it?
no subject
no subject
[He grimaces, sympathetically.] I have never been in a crashing pod, but planes are bad enough!
no subject
[ If the goal is to distract her with conversation, it's working. She's picking her feet up a little better now, despite her tiredness. ]
no subject
[Well then. They can just keep talking. He grins at her, winking -- which is no easy task when you have one good eye.]
no subject
[ Tex isn't one much for puns but that one seems to roll off her tongue. ]
no subject
[He probably will. His memory is still sharp, after all.]
no subject
Anyway, yeah. My body was in a coma for that missing year. It got weak while it healed from the crash.
no subject
[The way he says it, like her comatose state had been something to be proud of.]
no subject
[ Despite his presence helping her feel more energized, she's plodding more slowly again. She decides to come to a stop with a sigh. ]
I'll make it.
[ She mutters this to herself. ]
