Shoulders drawn together in his usual slight hunch, he makes his way over to her. ]
What is it?

Commander Shepard brought in something called "medi-gel". I replicated it for minor injuries.
If you guys can get them in the clear we can focus on the serious injuries. [She offers him a jar with some sort of clear, jelly-like salve in it.]
no subject
Handy. [ The name's pretty self-explanatory, though Bruce is very curious about how effective it is, and how it works exactly. He'll have plenty of opportunities to see for himself, most likely. ] I take it we just apply it to the injuries, and that's it? Should I do any kind of wound dressing afterwards?
no subject
How many have you seen so far? [She's genuinely worried about how much damage those pricks caused.]
no subject
[ Extremely practical too, in this situation. He looks around to find someone with minor injuries waiting to be seen, and he motions for them to come over and take a seat on an examination table. ]
Some. I'm-- actually not counting at this point. Between newcomers and people coming and going from the planet, there's been a lot of people. A few of the injuries are a little more serious, cuts that need stitches, dislocated shoulders, fractured ribs and the like, but mostly it's just this. [ He nods to the small scrapes on the person's arm, opening the jar and starting to dab a little of it onto the wound. ] Small things. This gel should help speed things up.
no subject
Alright, tiger. When you get done helping out around the house I got a question for you. Come back and see me.
[She crosses her arms and strides off in her over-confident way, ready to attack those more serious injuries like a woman going to war. But then again, she is a most unfortunate sort of war veteran.]

Once he's taken care of a good chunk of the people waiting, he makes his way over to Meh again, making sure she's not too busy herself either. ]
So, what did you want to ask?
no subject
I'm working on a prosthetics project. I don't know that it would normally be up your alley, but I think some aspects of this might be of interest to you.
no subject
It's definitely up my alley, yes. Although I know of someone else who might be interested too. [ He's pretty sure Tony would be very upset if he didn't even mention something like this to him. ] What kind of prosthetic? For someone on the ship, I take it?
no subject
I've been talking to Peridot about it. Do you know her?
no subject
Peridot? Yes, I know her. [ He nods. ] We're roommates, and we've worked together for a good while. I'd have suggested her for a project like this, too.

I recently did some work on Tron, had to use code to rebuild his body. Between that and how gems project themselves, I've got some good ideas on how to project physical forms that also can transmit realistic sensation.
Meaning we could also give them back their feeling completely.
[She'll definitely be glad for the extra hands on board.]
no subject
Tron? Haven't met them. I'm... assuming they're some kind of program? An artificial intelligence? [ Either, both, or something else altogether, building a body from coding alone sounds amazing. Another thing that would definitely fascinate Bruce. ] Sounds great. I'd love to join in on that.
[ Extra hands. Heh. ]
no subject
[It's pretty great having an organic and computing mind when it comes to that.]
no subject
[ In a way, like the Gems and their hard light projections, but even then that's different. They're not organic but they're still life forms. ]
no subject
You hear one start making strange mechanical sounds. Give him a wide berth. A little on the aggressive side. [And she knows that's not a great combination when it comes to Bruce. Not worth the risk.] Tron is fine, though.
no subject
[ And yes, he does appreciate that note. As interested as he might be in learning about them, he's not going to risk the safety of the ship by getting too close to someone he knows could be unstable or dangerous. ]
How far along are you with the project?
no subject
Indogene technology also lets me create artificial limbs. We're an artificial race who sometimes has to, for whatever reason, graft or replace parts of ourselves. But we usually create them out of protoform. So it's pretty far along. I just need to make sure that the illusion of flesh is hyper realistic and matches that of the host. Second of all I want to make an efficient way for contact with that "flesh" to create realistic stimulus to nerve endings in the arm.
no subject
I've never heard of it - protoform, that is. [ Excuse Bruce for now staring a little at her, visibly marvelled at what she's just told him. Of course he figured she wasn't human, but from there to being an entirely artificial race goes a long way. ] And you have that too? I mean, nerve endings. And if so, a brain to which it all connects? Do you have other artificial organs too, or-- [ He stops, wincing slightly. ] Sorry. I didn't mean to intrude, I just... got very curious. I'm sorry.
no subject
I'm about as close to a computer as an organic being can be. I can interface with most computers. Protoform is the material I'm made of, and like I can adapt to most systems protoform can match and adapt to most species. Brain. Nerve endings. Even the parts for a fun time. I got all the goods, baby. The Omec didn't skimp on making their slave-races. They wanted some real go-getters.
[She can't help the bitterness in her tone there. The Omec... Defiance was making a stupid decision in negotiating with them.] But I'm luckily blessed because of it. That's why I was able to help design the containment unit that held your big green self.
no subject
Right. I should've thanked you for that before. [ His words are very much genuine. ] Thank you. It's an impressive creation. I hope I won't need it again, but I'm honestly relieved to know it's there, should I ever need it.
no subject
By the way.
I know you probably had a hard time with that. I'm from a destroyed planet. As long as there were Arks, as long as the people made it away, they'll be fine. Any chance to start over. And, by the way- [She goes over to her work station where she picks up a flower, a seedling in a small pot. It's already budding, glass-like leaves peaking through the tight green protecting it.] I have someone helping me with my medicinal plants, so this is a new one. Native species to Cadacus Primary. This one, born here. Take it. Take care of it. I'll send you care instructions.
no subject
And he's never really believed in coincidences, either.
He looks down at the small budding flower in the pot she hands him, taking it gingerly from her. His mouth parts a little, an expression of clear surprise as his eyes stay on the small petals poking out, unable to completely hide the mix of feelings that have his chest clutching, mingled with what memories he has of what happened in Caducus Primary.
He looks back up to Meh, pressing his lips tight and swallowing dryly. The question 'why' is right at the tip of his tongue, but he doesn't ask it, instead nodding and quietly accepting the flower. ] Thank you.
no subject
Give me a shout if you need me.
no subject
He's definitely not letting the plant die. ]
