[ And yes, he does appreciate that note. As interested as he might be in learning about them, he's not going to risk the safety of the ship by getting too close to someone he knows could be unstable or dangerous. ]
How far along are you with the project?

Indogene technology also lets me create artificial limbs. We're an artificial race who sometimes has to, for whatever reason, graft or replace parts of ourselves. But we usually create them out of protoform. So it's pretty far along. I just need to make sure that the illusion of flesh is hyper realistic and matches that of the host. Second of all I want to make an efficient way for contact with that "flesh" to create realistic stimulus to nerve endings in the arm.

I've never heard of it - protoform, that is. [ Excuse Bruce for now staring a little at her, visibly marvelled at what she's just told him. Of course he figured she wasn't human, but from there to being an entirely artificial race goes a long way. ] And you have that too? I mean, nerve endings. And if so, a brain to which it all connects? Do you have other artificial organs too, or-- [ He stops, wincing slightly. ] Sorry. I didn't mean to intrude, I just... got very curious. I'm sorry.

I'm about as close to a computer as an organic being can be. I can interface with most computers. Protoform is the material I'm made of, and like I can adapt to most systems protoform can match and adapt to most species. Brain. Nerve endings. Even the parts for a fun time. I got all the goods, baby. The Omec didn't skimp on making their slave-races. They wanted some real go-getters.
[She can't help the bitterness in her tone there. The Omec... Defiance was making a stupid decision in negotiating with them.] But I'm luckily blessed because of it. That's why I was able to help design the containment unit that held your big green self.

Right. I should've thanked you for that before. [ His words are very much genuine. ] Thank you. It's an impressive creation. I hope I won't need it again, but I'm honestly relieved to know it's there, should I ever need it.

By the way.
I know you probably had a hard time with that. I'm from a destroyed planet. As long as there were Arks, as long as the people made it away, they'll be fine. Any chance to start over. And, by the way- [She goes over to her work station where she picks up a flower, a seedling in a small pot. It's already budding, glass-like leaves peaking through the tight green protecting it.] I have someone helping me with my medicinal plants, so this is a new one. Native species to Cadacus Primary. This one, born here. Take it. Take care of it. I'll send you care instructions.

And he's never really believed in coincidences, either.
He looks down at the small budding flower in the pot she hands him, taking it gingerly from her. His mouth parts a little, an expression of clear surprise as his eyes stay on the small petals poking out, unable to completely hide the mix of feelings that have his chest clutching, mingled with what memories he has of what happened in Caducus Primary.
He looks back up to Meh, pressing his lips tight and swallowing dryly. The question 'why' is right at the tip of his tongue, but he doesn't ask it, instead nodding and quietly accepting the flower. ] Thank you.

Give me a shout if you need me.

He's definitely not letting the plant die. ]
