We push and pull like a magnet do
Who: Shepard (
squadgoals) & Nihlus (
beautifulspaceraptor)
When: Morning of April 12th (Day 1), post-party.
Where: Kauto R1, Nihlus' apartment.
What: Welp,
Warnings: ADULTS ARE DISGUSTING, DO NOT READ, CURSED TEXT INSIDE
[For the first time in months, it's not a nightmare that eventually wakes her up — but a gentle filter of light through a window. Without moving, she watches as the light grows, strengthens in intensity, until it's shining on her—on both of them—warming the entire room.
Extracting herself from the tangle of limbs and linens as gently as possible, she pads barefoot to the window, blanket wrapped around her for modesty's sake, and watches the world wake up outside.]

The night had drifted along in a serene haze. Nihlus hadn't slept- couldn't sleep and didn't particularly want to leave the safety of Shepard's arms to fetch his medication. But he found he didn't really mind the sleeplessness for once.
It takes him a bit to find the will to move though. Eventually, lazily, he stretches out, uttering a soft groan before slowly pushing up onto his knees with a show of yawning. ]
Do you want breakfast?
[ For his part, Nihlus isn't too concerned about modesty. He stands, lets the blankets spill into a heap around his feet and then wanders quietly over, slipping comfortably into the space behind her. Presses his mouth plates against a sun warmed ear with a low, pleasant thrum. ]
I've got a coffee machine now, [ Nihlus adds in a soft murmur, a playful note of seduction lining his harmonics as runs his knuckle up the smooth dip of Shepard's spine. ]

It was... well. "Striking" came to mind. Nihlus had never seen cause to avoid flaunting what he had, so to speak — a flirtatious lesson she'd been subjected to a mere one month in to their reconciliation aboard the Moira. But he did have it — in spades, enough that even an untrained human eye could catch it — and Shepard was not untrained. Shaking her head wordlessly at the offer of breakfast, she watches her partner's approach, smile spreading through her features as gently as the sunlight across her face.
As she closes her eyes, letting herself lean in to Nihlus' affections, she scoffs lightly, the humor of the disparate statement versus the actions taking place both sweet and ridiculous.]
Charmer. You really know the way to a girl's heart. [Opening her eyes, she turns, planting a sudden kiss on his mandible, before moving into the space between his arms.] All this shopping without me... don't tell me you found someone else to puke in your favorite homeware stores?

I think Rinzler might have visited me while I was online shopping. [ The words come through a bit muffled. ] Didn't discover any evidence of puke though, so don't worry. You're not being usurped just yet.
[ There's a small bout of silence here, Nihlus momentarily wrapped up in the softness of her hair, senses filled with the smell of her. He draws Shepard closer, reaching up to run the back of his claws over her collar bone, eyes half lidded in an expression of quiet adoration. ]
You'll have to walk me through all this fancy coffee tech. I thought there was only one way to prepare the stuff but new research indicates otherwise.

Last night had been... busy. Drinks, food, mingle, games, chatter, fighting — and that had just been the party. They'd made it breathlessly to the apartment, but once the door was locked (securely), all bets were off.
And they'd both had presents to unwrap.
No more birthdays parties. Nothing was ever going to top this one.]
If there's more methods than "press button, receive coffee", I'm going to need help, too. I just drink it.

There's a setting for that. I paid extra for that setting.
[ They're both saved from trying to figure out gourmet coffee making. Isn't she glad?
Of course, they still need to put the actual ground coffee beans into the machine, but you can't win everything.
It's a little cold now since he'd cranked the temperature down to something Shepard wouldn't find too sweltering. Nihlus snuggles in closer, thrumming long, low notes, the curve of his sternum vibrating gently where it's pressed between the woman's shoulder blades.
Not a purr. Not quite. Closer to a bird's crooning but deeper and the flanging was distinctly alien. ]
How 'bout we take the rest of the day off? [ Nihlus quizzes softly against the back of her ear, free hand sliding into the gap between the bodies so that he could trace a path down her spine. ] Just you, me, the coffee machine and some flicks. Your pick.
[ No cheesy, awful soaps this time. The things he does for love. ]
SUPER OLD TAG DROP THE HECKO OUT OF THIS
[The purr-esque noise was almost hypnotising, and she kept catching herself smiling at it, savouring the little vibrations through her spine.
Suddenly, she turns, sneaking under an arm, wrapping the blanket around both of them.]
But seriously, the coffee first. I'm not saying I have a hangover, but I don't not have a hangover, if you get my meaning.
