You decide every moment of every day... (CLOSED)
Who: Charles (Daisy, Jean, Tex, Peter)
When: The day Charles wakes up from Cryo
Where: Medical, Moro deck, kipos garden, bow observation deck
What: Charles has been in cryo for a few months and he's waking up to a few changes. And people.
Warnings: Nooooone?
[A]
He was just... sleeping. Charles could remember sleeping a lot back in New York. Usually he slept off his hangovers, that wasn't what this was. For one, he hadn't been drinking prior to this that he could remember. Second, he didn't sleep completely naked. Or in medical in a cryo unit. After taking a moment to gather his thoughts, he pulled himself out of the unit, looking around for something to cover himself. And then hopefully his uniform. He wasn't going to wander around in nothing but a towel, after all.
His clothes had to be stored nearby right? Whoever had put him here wouldn't have carried him naked from... where ever he'd been. He had to have been stripped down here, it only made sense. Once found, he wasted no time changing. Better to wear the ships uniform than nothing at all.
[B]
He made his way to his room when he could, sure (hoping) his things hadn't been tampered with by his roommates. The first thing he really wanted to do was grab a glass and some of the whiskey he'd bought on the planet they'd visited when the Ingress had first brought him here. And then he'd think of what else he should do, where else he should go.
The rooms were still strange looking in his opinion (what was wrong with regular beds, why did these have to hang from the ceiling?) but he'd gotten used to them. And the room he was assigned was large enough that his belongings wouldn't have been in the way while he slept.
[C]
He never had visited the garden before, what he was starting to think of it as, his coma. It seemed relaxing though, or relaxing enough, and he could use that. When he found the tree and all the candles, it wasn't just the compulsion to do so that had him lighting a candle. It was clearly some kind of tradition, and something to be respected. And he would do just that.
The glass sculpture he found left him unsettled. He knew what he looked like: fuzz on his face and long unkempt hair. He needed to work on that a bit. But when he looked into it, for a moment he glimpse himself when he had first met Erik, another moment showed him when he'd been twelve. And another showed him an older, bald, man. That wasn't going to happen. He was quite fond of his hair, thank you very much.
[D]
Looking at the stars from the observation deck was nice. He hadn't studied it before, it didn't interest him like it did Hank, but he had to admit that it was fascinating. Mostly that they could travel space at all, that he was far into the future. That wasn't quite so odd considering Logan had traveled to the past but still, it was fascinating. And he hoped that coming to the bow meant he wouldn't be disturbed quite as much as he would elsewhere.

It absolutely had nothing to do with certain people he was trying to avoid.
Peter was standing a ways off from the statue, poking at a plastic slide like he expected it to fall apart. He turned with an annoyed noise, face slipping from a frown to a wide eyed stare of surprise. In the span of a second, he was behind Charles reaching out to poke him with the same carefulness as he had the equipment.
"Xavier?"
no subject
"Peter. You're still here." He could have checked his MID, he knew he could have, but he'd avoided it for now. After just waking up, he was trying to avoid what contact he could for now.
no subject
He's speaking quickly, tone going from mockingly friendly to annoyed. The past few months haven't changed his opinion on Erik or Charles for letting Peter bust him out. But he's got the idea if he starts fighting with Charles in public, Peter will be getting an ear full from Jean.
"There's someone here who says they're from the future. Our future. I figured that would be important for you to know."
no subject
"Someone else from the future?" Was this going to become a common occurrence after they'd met Logan?
no subject
"Look, I just wanted to know if you knew about Jean yet. Because she knows you and she was pretty upset that you were- well, you know. Frozen."
no subject
"Logan, actually, comes from about fifty years or so in our future." Not that he acted like it. Most of the time. Charles sure as hell wouldn't have bought it if the man hadn't told him a few thing about his own youth that he'd never told anyone before. Even Hank, who had stuck by him after closing the school didn't know much about when his mutation had first formed.
"Jean though... I can't say the name is familiar. I suppose I should meet her."
no subject
He's trying to keep his temper in check. It's mostly out of respect to Jean, he'd seen enough of her temper when he realized he'd kept her in the dark about Charles' stay in cryo. In part it's out respect to the place too. River came to the glass sculpture for her family and it felt wrong to start a fight near it.
"You should. She really seems to like you." The 'for some reason' is left unsaid.

Sometimes Daisy liked to come up here too. Although, at times, all it did was remind her just how far they were from home. At least her home, since not everyone came from where she did.
"It's weird, isn't it? Almost doesn't feel like it's real."
no subject
"Hm?" He glanced to her for a moment before he nodded. "Oh yes. Sometimes it's impossible to believe something like this is possible outside of ridiculous science fiction novels. My imagination isn't quite so creative though."
It kind of was, in some ways. In this respect though? Hardly. There was too much on the Moira that he would never have come up with on his own. And he had no powers to assist when he arrived to fill in details.
no subject
"Sorry, I'm Daisy." She held her hand out to him when she was close enough to him.
no subject
"Daisy. It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Charles Xavier."
no subject
Hey. Looks like we both had the same idea, to come up here. Hope you don't mind that I join?
no subject
[Regardless of how long it had been since his students had been drafted for the war.]
I wonder just how far we are from home.

"What are you doing?" she asks him as he enters the room. "You know the doctors are going to want to check you over before you can just leave."
no subject
"You can't be serious. I have things I'd like to check on." Which didn't include being checked over. He wanted to check his room, his belongings, make sure whether or not Peter was still there.

But she doesn't.
He won't know you, her own mind's voice whispers back. And it's right. It hurts but it's true. Charles is from another time, another place in his life, long before he's met her. Long before Apocalypse took him.
So, she restrains herself and waits. Gently lingers near his mind to keep track of what he's feeling, if he's calm or upset. Never prying further than that. When he seems better oriented, she finally decides to find him. She's been to the observation deck a few times before and each time, the sight was always something special.
Jean forces her feet to move closer when she sees him, recognizes him. Is shocked to see him on his feet. With a few feet still between them, she stops near him. Quietly, "Charles Xavier?"
Jeeeeeeeeeean <3
"Yes?" He noticed the shock, maybe she did know him. Logan and Erik had been surprised about him walking as well. He just wished he could place her. Then again, Peter seemed to be from the future.
This ship was ridiculous.
"I'm very sorry, have we met?"
:')
The step back happens without her realizing it but she stays where she is, swallowing the lump in her throat and trying to force a smile, "I guess not. I seem to be from too far ahead." For him, for Peter.
Even when she wasn't alone, she was.
no subject
"I- I'm so sorry." And he was. This wasn't fair to either of them but especially for her. However much he wanted to bury the teacher, the nurturing guardian, that ran a school for gifted youngsters, this broke right through to it.
"We'll get to know each other all again though."
no subject
"I know. It's just... not the same."
A beat, as she forces out, her voice tighter, "You're not the same." She doesn't feel it. His powers. That link they had. And that cut right through her.
no subject
"And no, I'm not. The man you know, I imagine he's very different if he was taking on students again." He couldn't even imagine opening the school, again, not for a long time. He didn't have the willpower or confidence to take on students again.
And, before he could talk himself out of it, he took a step forward and pulled her into a hug.
