( open ) let's dance
Who: the teen population of the Moira
When: at some point after arriving at the Luminous Sea, late afternoon/evening
Where: recreation area
What: a very 80's party thrown by Peter
takeitslow! Is your character currently a teenager? If yes, then assume they have somehow magically gotten an invitation and come party with us!
Warnings: none for the moment, will change if necessary

So maybe there's a lot of young people suddenly around the Moira. The best way to deal with it is obviously by throwing a party. Because adults are boring people who can't have fun and how can you not go wild at a party with a disco ball?
The rec area has been decorated just a bit for the occasion: there's a few tables with quick snacks, sweets and drinks, and 80's music playing from some strategically placed speakers. A good portion of the area is unimpeded so people can dance, and there are balloons of different colors a little bit all over.
The pool's decorated with tiny glitter confetti too, so it gives off a very glow-y vibe. Probably not a good idea to jump in but hey, you do you.
People are free to start up their own activities during the party, be it games like Spin the Bottle or Never Have I Ever, or something like attempting synchronized dancing. Seriously, go wild! (Not too wild, though. Just because there are no parents around doesn't mean you all should do whatever the hell you want.Yes it does.)
(Everyone feel free to put up specific starters for your characters, or for 'group' activities, go ahead and put up a top level so that everyone who wants to can jump in!)

[ She keeps playing with his hair, both to comfort him but also just because it feels right. ]

[ It's also very relaxing, feeling her fingers sift through his curls, and Bruce closes his eyes for just a little while, enjoying that touch. ]
It's got nice programs, in... a bunch of scientific fields.
no subject
She can relate. ]
I hope things get better there.
no subject
Thanks. I hope so too.
[ He falls quiet, mouth opening as if he wants to say something else, closing, then opening again. ]
I kind of like it here too, though.

[ She considers making a joke about probes, but decides against it. ]
no subject
I'll just point out that technically we are the aliens out here.
no subject
Nerd.
no subject
You said 'incredibly smart' wrong.
no subject
[ She scoots closer so that she can sort of wrap her arms around him from behind. ]
Congratulations.
[ Yes, this is a bit of a come-on. ]
no subject
Thanks.
[ Yes, he sounds a bit nervous there. ]
I was just kidding, though.
no subject
[ Kind of obviously not when it comes to girls but that's okay. ]
If I were playing spin the bottle with you guys, would you have wanted to kiss me too?
no subject
Why are you asking?
no subject
Either way, she scoots back again, freeing him from her arms. ]
Because I wanted to know.
no subject
It only makes him more nervous to answer, his stomach knotting up in what he's pretty sure is some form of an anxiety attack. But he forces himself to let the answer out, even if it's a little shaky. ]
Yes.
no subject
If you still want to... you can.
no subject
Eyes firmly set on his hands in his lap, he tries to speak evenly. (He fails.) ]
You... Uh, do you? Want me to?
no subject
Yeah, I do.
no subject
Okay.
[ So okay what? Their positions right now don't really make for a smooth approach, here. He'd have to get on his knees and possibly climb a little onto the bed just to get close enough. Or is she going to shift closer? Is she kissing him or should he? He's going to miss his chance again, isn't he? ]
no subject
She knows what an awkward turtle Bruce is, so she decides to make things very easy for him here. She just goes ahead and leans in to kiss him. Not too fast though, in case he changes his mind. ]
no subject
There's probably some chorus of disbelief going on in his head when she leans in, and a soft sound of surprise when he feels her lips on his. They're very soft and gentle on his, and he can smell a little of the toothpaste she used earlier.
Eventually he kicks himself into action, pressing a little into the kiss too, a hand lifting up to settle on her shoulder. ]
no subject
Though really it's not any amount of finesse that makes her feel so good about this kiss. It's because she is kissing a boy who had absolutely no idea who she was before meeting her, and who came to like her anyway. Like her enough to hold her hair when she puked, to comfort her and hang out with her... and kiss her.
When their lips part, her smile is of the truly dorky variety. ]
So maybe I have a little crush on you.
no subject
His hand slides up a little, but stops before he actually gets to cupping her face, which is kind of what he wanted to do. It leaves him feeling a little awkward because he's pretty sure it's obvious where he was going with that, and he just ends up not knowing what to do with his hand, or with himself.
When she breaks the kiss, he lets out a soft little gasp, pressing his lips almost immediately and dropping his gaze. His face is all flushed, and it gets even darker when she speaks up. ]
Really? [ Said with a nervous lilt, his gaze hesitantly lifting up to her face. ] Well, I... uh... that's— that's good. Really good. Because I definitely have a not-so-little crush on you.
no subject
For real?
no subject
Is it really that surprising?
[ He thinks he's been ridiculously obvious, especially during all of tonight. Well fine, almost all of tonight— certainly the whole time they've been alone in this room. ]
Anyway, uh— yes. For real. So that's... that's nice, yes? I-if you really like me, then it's good that I like you too, right? [ Oh god this is the most awkward crush talk in the history of ever. ]
no subject
[ Not that she isn't used to people crushing on her, it happens all the time, she just doesn't feel like Bruce has any particular reason to be into her more than anyone else on the ship. ]
And of course it's good you dork!
[ She shoves lightly at one of his shoulders. ]
