Who: the teen population of the Moira
When: at some point after arriving at the Luminous Sea, late afternoon/evening
Where: recreation area
What: a very 80's party thrown by Peter takeitslow! Is your character currently a teenager? If yes, then assume they have somehow magically gotten an invitation and come party with us!
Warnings: none for the moment, will change if necessary




So maybe there's a lot of young people suddenly around the Moira. The best way to deal with it is obviously by throwing a party. Because adults are boring people who can't have fun and how can you not go wild at a party with a disco ball?

The rec area has been decorated just a bit for the occasion: there's a few tables with quick snacks, sweets and drinks, and 80's music playing from some strategically placed speakers. A good portion of the area is unimpeded so people can dance, and there are balloons of different colors a little bit all over.

The pool's decorated with tiny glitter confetti too, so it gives off a very glow-y vibe. Probably not a good idea to jump in but hey, you do you.

People are free to start up their own activities during the party, be it games like Spin the Bottle or Never Have I Ever, or something like attempting synchronized dancing. Seriously, go wild! (Not too wild, though. Just because there are no parents around doesn't mean you all should do whatever the hell you want. Yes it does.)


(Everyone feel free to put up specific starters for your characters, or for 'group' activities, go ahead and put up a top level so that everyone who wants to can jump in!)

Yeah.

[ She decides to move so that she's sitting between his legs, her back leaned against his chest.

Then she guides his arms to wrap around her. ]

I guess the universe really wanted us to meet, huh?

[ Since it made it happen twice and all. ]

[dyskinesia]

[ He spreads his legs a little wider to give her more room, his arms curling around her without needing much prompting. His cheek rests against the back of her head, while he hopes a little foolishly that if he holds her close and strong enough, she won't just vanish. ]

Well, this universe anyway.

[ In a more comically eerie tone, he adds, ] Maybe it has plans for us.

[stillpatsy]

[ That gets a snort and a laugh. ]

Like what?

[dyskinesia]

I don't know. [ He shrugs. ] Doing crazy experiments, creating the ultimate alien creature. Like stitching tentacles on our sides and stuff.

[ Okay this is kind of creepy. But it's all said humorously, so he kind of feels like it doesn't count. ]

[stillpatsy]

I don't think tentacles would be a very good look on me.

[ Yeah she is really not going to think about how maybe that is actually true. She's just gonna go ahead and be happy about having a boyfriend for a little while, thank you very much. ]

[dyskinesia]

Do you really think a mad scientist would care about looks if he were creating the ultimate monster? I mean seriously, look at Victor Frankenstein.

[ Look it's easier to deal with if he's joking about it. So far they've pretty much been left alone, and everyone else on board doesn't seem to have those kinds of horror tales to share, so Bruce assumes that despite the awful things that sometimes happen, they at least don't involve the captains dissecting them or anything creepy like that. ]

[stillpatsy]

If someone tries to sew dead body parts on me, I'm out.

[ Bruce is really good at making her smile, it turns out. She probably wouldn't have guessed it, but their senses of humour go really well together. ]

[dyskinesia]

[ He lifts his arms up so his hands reach up and paw lightly at her face, groaning like a zombie while he does it. ]

Raargh, you're ours, Patricia Walker...!!

[ Sorry Trish, your boyfriend is The Ultimate Dork. ]

[stillpatsy]

[ It is a testament to her own dorkiness (and the size of her crush) that she just laughs and bats his hands away. ]

No one calls me Patricia.

[dyskinesia]

[ He chuckles as he catches her hands, letting them drop to her lap. ]

It's a nice name. Patricia. [ After a pause, he adds. ] Unless you don't like it, in which case it's terrible.

[stillpatsy]

I like it when you say it.

[ She twists around a little and kisses his jaw. ]

[dyskinesia]

[ He smiles bashfully, ducking his head a little. ]

I'll still use Trish more. [ But it's nice to know he can call her by her actual name if he wants to. Which reminds him. ] Oh. You should probably know Bruce isn't my first name. It's, uh... Robert.

[stillpatsy]

I'm guessing you don't like being called that?

[ Or is it just one of those cases where the parents put the names in a certain order because it sounded better but always meant for the second name to be the one used? ]

[dyskinesia]

Yeah, I... it's not my favorite name. My mom always called me Bruce too. Also, 'Robert' lends to too many unfortunate shortened versions, which I'm not a fan of.

[ So yes, it's mostly what she said. ]

[stillpatsy]

I think maybe I'll change my name completely as soon as it's legal.

[ To spite her mom if nothing else. ]

I guess here I wouldn't even have to wait. I could just pick something.

[dyskinesia]

I like your name, for what it's worth. It's very... you.

[ And spite is a terrible reason to change a name. ]

Trish, Patricia. Whichever. Just... not that dumb nickname. [ He won't say it out loud. ]
