( open ) let's dance
Who: the teen population of the Moira
When: at some point after arriving at the Luminous Sea, late afternoon/evening
Where: recreation area
What: a very 80's party thrown by Peter
takeitslow! Is your character currently a teenager? If yes, then assume they have somehow magically gotten an invitation and come party with us!
Warnings: none for the moment, will change if necessary

So maybe there's a lot of young people suddenly around the Moira. The best way to deal with it is obviously by throwing a party. Because adults are boring people who can't have fun and how can you not go wild at a party with a disco ball?
The rec area has been decorated just a bit for the occasion: there's a few tables with quick snacks, sweets and drinks, and 80's music playing from some strategically placed speakers. A good portion of the area is unimpeded so people can dance, and there are balloons of different colors a little bit all over.
The pool's decorated with tiny glitter confetti too, so it gives off a very glow-y vibe. Probably not a good idea to jump in but hey, you do you.
People are free to start up their own activities during the party, be it games like Spin the Bottle or Never Have I Ever, or something like attempting synchronized dancing. Seriously, go wild! (Not too wild, though. Just because there are no parents around doesn't mean you all should do whatever the hell you want.Yes it does.)
(Everyone feel free to put up specific starters for your characters, or for 'group' activities, go ahead and put up a top level so that everyone who wants to can jump in!)

Ow. Come on, give me a break.
[ He chuckles, though, dropping his hands to his lap and trying to suppress the dorkiest of grins. ]
So, uh... Can I— can I kiss you again, or do I have to, just... do some sort of dare now? [ He's joking, obviously. They're not really playing that game. ]
no subject
[ He was so not the most obvious, this is the hill she will die on. ]
And you can't kiss me unless you tell me a truth first.
[ Her joking tone matches his. ]
Just kidding. You can just kiss me.
no subject
Well, I can tell you a truth, too? You only have to ask.
[ There's probably a handful of things he wouldn't want to talk about but at the moment he feels like he could share just about anything with her. ]
no subject
[ Okay no there is one question here that might be good to clear up. ]
Are we... I mean, is this a thing now? Do you want me to be, you know... your girlfriend?
no subject
Uh. Only if you want to? I mean, it's— it's fine if you don't. I know I'm not... [ Boyfriend material. Whatever that may mean. Anyway, he just shrugs. ]
I'd like to. But we don't have to. If you think it's too fast or something, it's— we're good either way.
no subject
[ He is totally made out of utter boyfriend material actually. Like, grade A quality boyfriend material. ]
Are you sure you wouldn't rather... I don't know, try someone else this time around?
[ God that came out really weird. ]
You know, someone... smarter or something. More sciency.
[ Wait, is this sounding like she's saying no? Shit it probably is. ]
I mean, I'd like it. If you were my boyfriend I mean. I'd like it a lot.
no subject
His heart sinks a little then. Is that what she's thinking? Like he's just doing this because he's supposed to? ]
No— no. I like you.
[ He reaches out for one of her hands, holding it between both of his. ]
it has nothing to do with... all that stuff I found out. You know that, right? I don't care about that. I don't care if you're not a sciency type either. I'm probably nerd enough for the both of us, anyway.
no subject
[ She smiles at him again, not really sure what she'd actually been thinking but still glad to be reassured all the same. ]
no subject
Flattering. Is that really how you woo a guy?
no subject
[ For all her feigned bravado, she's never actually felt good enough about herself to think that anyone would ever really want to be with her.
But with Bruce it's different. He makes her feel good about who she is. Kind of like Jess, but differently. ]
no subject
[ One of his hands shifts so his fingers weave through hers, feeling a little giddy with just that simple touch.
Also he realizes he never actually went for that kiss, so he'll lean in and do that now. ]
no subject
She could get used to this for sure. ]
What are you talking about, if it works it's good!
no subject
[ Yes it is, God he is so weak. And if the fact their adult versions are together is any sort of sign, then it's a skill that could do her well for a really long time. ]
no subject
[ She doesn't really want to go back either.
Well, she wants to make a short trip there and get Jess. ]
no subject
Sorry.
[ Sadly there's nothing either of them can do on that front, but he doesn't tell her that. It'd just make her pointlessly sad. ]
I'm here now?
no subject
[ She decides to move so that she's sitting between his legs, her back leaned against his chest.
Then she guides his arms to wrap around her. ]
I guess the universe really wanted us to meet, huh?
[ Since it made it happen twice and all. ]
no subject
Well, this universe anyway.
[ In a more comically eerie tone, he adds, ] Maybe it has plans for us.
no subject
Like what?
no subject
[ Okay this is kind of creepy. But it's all said humorously, so he kind of feels like it doesn't count. ]
no subject
[ Yeah she is really not going to think about how maybe that is actually true. She's just gonna go ahead and be happy about having a boyfriend for a little while, thank you very much. ]
no subject
[ Look it's easier to deal with if he's joking about it. So far they've pretty much been left alone, and everyone else on board doesn't seem to have those kinds of horror tales to share, so Bruce assumes that despite the awful things that sometimes happen, they at least don't involve the captains dissecting them or anything creepy like that. ]
no subject
[ Bruce is really good at making her smile, it turns out. She probably wouldn't have guessed it, but their senses of humour go really well together. ]
no subject
Raargh, you're ours, Patricia Walker...!!
[ Sorry Trish, your boyfriend is The Ultimate Dork. ]
no subject
No one calls me Patricia.
no subject
It's a nice name. Patricia. [ After a pause, he adds. ] Unless you don't like it, in which case it's terrible.
