"Big things have small beginnings."
☄ DECONTAMINATION #2 ( 04.14 - 04.17 ) On the Moira, crew come and go without much hassle. They take a transporter to planets and moons and back again without any fuss... Until today. All crew that try to reboard the Moira coming back from Del Pascia will be denied access, a warning flashing on their MID - Decontamination Required for Entry. It’s a protocol that hasn’t been enacted before, and the MID offers no explanation as to why it is now. The transporter will seal and then be permitted to dock in the Cargo Bay, where the procedure will begin. All crew on the transporter have to dispose of their clothing by placing it inside hazardous waste bags located in a compartment near the front of the craft. After all clothing is stored, a gas-like substance will fill the transporter, breathable yet tasteless, and once it dissipates, crew will be free to go. ☄ D.ON'T E.VER L.EAVE ( 04.18 - 04.23 ) After the decontamination procedures for the Moira go off, the captains issue a ship-wide alert to let the crew know that the ship is picking up on something inside each person that boarded the space station. It is speculated that the crew came in contact with an unknown biological contaminant either during the station’s decontamination procedure or sometime after. At this point, they aren’t aware of what will happen to those that are carrying the contaminant, and the captains ask for anybody with experience to head to the Medbay to begin testing. Crew don’t appear to be in any danger, so they are allowed to continue gathering materials and supplies on board the space station at their discretion. (Every time they come and go, they will be made to go through the procedure described above). ☄ FEAR ME, LOVE ME, DO AS I SAY ( 04.24 - 04.28 ) Like most unfortunate things, it seems everything happens all at once. The noises you heard, a step falling moments after yours or a rattle coming from the vents, become louder. You can’t place where they are coming from at first. You turn, you follow, but the search yields no results. And then, without any warning, it’s crystal clear as “they” begin to creep and move from within the shadows and ruined sections of Del Pascia: the prisoners and workers said to have been relocated by D-E-L. Their voice is one, regardless of how many gather, and they tell you, “You can be happy here” and “I can make you better” shortly after. As always, fearing for the safety of the crew (and despite the disrepair of the Moira from events prior), the captains ask for all those capable to assist with extracting those aboard Del Pascia as quickly as possible before D-E-L tries to lock them inside. Running, after all, is better than dying, and it’s certainly something everyone aboard the Moira has gotten quite good at. |
b, of course!
There's little warning other than the sound of his metal boots clacking against the floors before suddenly, a wave of electrical magic assaults the prisoners. At best, it's just a surprise and a stun. He knows they'll be moving again soon.
But it should be enough for now.
"Frisk!" he calls out sharply and with a tone of seriousness that sounds foreign coming from him. He wants to help them, but they're so small the blend in with the abominations surrounding them. Eventually he picks out the actively struggling figure and moves towards them. Yes! That's the human!!
Mettaton shoves at what creatures have hold of Frisk. Being much larger than the child, he has a better time of dislodging the things.
FML I'M SO SORRY.................
But it passes, and Frisk grabs his hands with relief to be hauled out of the mess. "Mettaton! We--we gotta help them, they're hurt! Th' captains got the stuff outta us, they can fix it, right?"
never be sorry! <3
..and now Frisk is talking about helping the creatures?! It's like Papyrus all over again!
"Darling, we need to leave at the moment. Those things...they cannot be helped," he says as gently as he can despite his slight annoyance at this selfless behavior. Like come on, the things were trying to kidnap you kid!
His gloved fingers grasp firmly at Frisk's small hand and he begins to back away from the mess of currently injured creatures.

Behind them, some of the prisoners are starting to recover, groaning and pushing themselves upright.

If Frisk continues to resist, Mettaton will extend his arms and create an effective tie-down of himself. He is not comfortable here, and no determination munchkin is keeping him around those--oh god they're starting to move again.

"Stay..."
no subject
"Darling, do you even know what the meaning of 'tactical retreat' is?" he chided as he ran, side-eying Frisk as if they were the most irresponsible person in the world.

At that point, he loosens his grip, though he doesn't set Frisk down yet.
"Sweetheart, I'm sorry that I was so quick to snatch you away, but...these are not beings that can be reasoned with. I would prefer to know you are safe than to let you try and save people who cannot be fixed."
Okay, so maybe he feels bad for telling them off while he was running.

"Th-they're just like..." Another sniffle, louder this time, and Frisk sounds more desperate than ever. "I-I know I can, I gotta try..."
no subject
Of course he maintained his poise and stood by his decision. Even as he holds the child a little closer. Frisk didn't seem to want to be set down yet, who was he to deny the child a bit of comfort?
"I don't know who you think they are like, but I must be firm! Is this what your sweet mother would want of you? To go bounding into trouble with reckless abandon?!"
no subject
"N...no...but..."
no subject
He doesn't say what he's thinking, but...he will if he has to, because this place is forcing him to be very serious.
You cannot save everyone, Frisk.
